The property was clean, comfortable and well stocked. Very convenient. Had everything we needed. We also loved that the back yard wasn't too sloped and was close to the dock. Hope to stay again!

This property was amazing. The house was warm and cozy with amazing views and lots of amenities. My family and I (6 of us) stayed for an extended Thanksgiving break and hosted Thanksgiving dinner for family that lives in the area. The owner has taken the care to leave notes on just about everything you would need to know (hot tub, fireplace, kayaks, dock, checkout, etc) which helped considerably. The kitchen is well stocked with every utensil, pot, pan, etc you should need. We brought things from home, many we didn’t need. We had roughly 12-14 people over for dinner and were able to sit everyone comfortably because of the two dining tables and bench style chairs. The only issue we had was the 2nd TV in the living room and the TV in the master BR wouldn’t work for some reason (probably user error). We didn’t watch TV much so it wasn’t a major issue but my 79yr old mom likes to watch her cooking show in the AM. We would recommend this house to anyone looking for a cozy, cabin like home with gorgeous lake views! We would definitely rent it again.

I wish we could have stayed longer to experience the lake. Very nice house overall. Clean upon arrival and everything was as I would expect. The owner called when I didn’t answer a few emails to ensure I received instructions for access, which was appreciated. We stayed here for a Clemson game and everyone was very welcoming in town and at the stadium. Classy bunch. It was a top notch experience. I would stay again.

The property manager was upfront with expectations, but easy to communicate with. The home was exactly what we needed, well stocked and clean. I look forward to spending a longer vacation there during summer months!

We had a great time staying in this lovely home for 10 nights. The location on the lake is just beautiful. Days were spent kayaking and fishing. We spent almost every evening having a cocktail on the deck looking over the lake. It was peaceful and quiet. The house is about 15-17 minutes away from grocery stores or restaurants, but it was an easy pleasant drive to stock up. The house is extremely well equipped. It has good internet, Satellite TV, every kitchen utensil you can think of, plenty of towels and bedding, grill with extra propane tank, washer/dryer, etc. We never needed anything. The living areas are spacious, and the bedrooms are well set up to sleep a larger group. We only had 4 and were able to spread out and be very comfortable. The owner was very professional and polite. They do have a few rules. They require a guest list, no big parties, etc. That’s what I would do if I was renting my home, and it made me feel like we were renting a cared-for property. We are already planning our next visit! Next time we are renting jet-skis!

BEWARE you are being watched your entire stay!!! The property is nice as far as the lake but the house has plumbing issues and the fact the ad states it sleeps 14 would be a very tight fit for the house We contacted the owner the 2nd day we were there (only 4 people 2 nights and 3 people remainder of the week) wondering if there was issues he was aware of if showers were used at the same time. His response was no. We noted the toilets did not flush completely after the showers were used so we were cautious of the water usage believing this must be a well issue as we have had issues with wells in the past. As time went on the toilets completely stopped flushing and the sewage started coming up in the showers. We informed the owner and his comments were " Oooo...so sorry for the trouble...have already called the septic service." We then sent pictures so he would be aware exactly what was going on and his comments were "Thanks for all the pics. We will cherish them! Another day in the life of a rental host. It aint as easy as it looks." Unfortunately for us we were the next people to rent from the owner after his family of 6 had been there and he absolutely would not consider that this was a previous problem and decided that it was our fault, telling us this is what the Septic Company had told him. We then spoke with the Septic Company and they stated it was impossible to tell when the blockage occurred. Again the owner vehemently refused any idea other then it was our fault and therefore he would be keeping our security deposit even though he complimented us on how clean we had left the property. He then brought up things that only he would know if we were being watched. We saw cameras but didn't think they were active while guest were paying to stay at the property but apparently they are active at all times. This is another response from the owner "And then we know you had an unauthorized gathering that could have easily included a guest who does not know how to wipe their butt!" We understand there are a lot of nice reviews but when it goes wrong the owner is absolutely terrible to work with. Again be very CAUTIOUS when thinking about this property I should have listened to my gut in the beginning but thought we are very responsible people and have rented multiple times with no issues or complaints and then to learn our activities (which were nothing out of the ordinary) were being watched the entire time is just plain CREEPY!!

It’s a lovely home on a beautiful body of the lake- very quiet and pristine. The notes throughout the house made it very clear what renters expectations were but also could be a bit much for those who haven’t used VRBO or other rentals like this. For us it was good to know exactly what we needed to do! Beautiful home- wish we had more time to spend enjoying it!

We had a great and comfortable weekend stay at Stillwater Cove. The house was super clean and outfitted with lots of towels/linens, sleeping options, tvs, and anything one could need in the kitchen. Would recommend and we hope to be back soon!

I am leaving this one star review with a heavy heart. A vacation that could have been one of our family's favorites ended turning into one we will remember because the host was unprofessional &scummy. My advice is make sure you stick with your gut when booking your hard earned money with private hosts. We have normal expectations when we pay someone for a service. We expect customer service to be professional and not to be condescending. We expect upfront pricing. Sadly we became invested in the "idea of the our family vacation" and ignored our gut about how the host treated us from the beginning. An honest, upstanding host should state all prices and fees upfront. This property sleeps 14, and no where in the listing does it state extra fees after 7 guests. When that showed up on the invoice, we shouldnt have ignored the condescending ingstructions/explanations from him about them. Same condescending language&threats of charging fees continuedwhen we arrived.Pages of instructions threatening to charge us more money if did a wrong. It's hard to feel welcome& comfortable on vacation when you're constantly worried youre going to mess something up, we have kids! We didnt go on vacation to be stressed out, we didn't pay to feel that way. On our last day we packed up our stuff, vacuumed around for the third time that week& felt we left the house in good shape. Two days after we left we were sent an email saying we were going to be charged an additional cleaning fee, reason being the house was "well used" and we moved the bunk beds (few inches to see if we left any items). We already paid a cleaning fee and paid to use his property, so this was very confusing. Truth is, this is just how he does business. It's scummy. He is also creepy, w/cameras everywhere. He made comments that had us believing he was actually watching us. We also had a lot of issues that we over looked while on our stay bc we arent high maintenance people, we focused on being together. However, if this were my own home I would have maintained these asap, not to mention if i rented it to others. For example the back deck is dangerous, rotten in places&covered in splinters, we avoided thebworst parts& had our kids keep their shoes on.Cleanliness issues like thick layers of dust on blinds &under beds, dead bugs every bc no one vacuumed before we arrived.These are things we shrugged off until he tried to charge us an additional bogus cleaning fee,not the cleaniest place we've stayed!

The home was spacious and clean, has beautiful outdoor spaces for fun and relaxation, up to date interior, plenty of towels and the kitchen had great pots and pans and dishes for cooking, easy drive from Clemson to the house. The use of the kayaks and paddle boat were great for fun on the lake. Highly recommend this home.

Everything was as stated in the description or from prior renters. Don't let the directions and initial neighborhood fool you as their home and those surrounding are very nice. Clemson only 20 mins up the road and Anderson area has plenty of restaurants and grocery shopping to choose from. While you're there, make sure you check out Herschbergs Bakery in Fairplay with the giant fresh made daily doughnuts. House fully stocked with everything you need which was a nice surprise. Roomy, plenty of space to spread out. Bees and wasps were busy out on the back deck but it's that time of year and owners had plenty of spray to help with that. Looking forward to staying again in the future.

the property is beautiful and well maintained. it has everything we need for a relaxing get away. we really enjoyed our stay. Great place for family vacation!

Sarcastic instructions for everything kind of annoying and senseless but I did like the place.. All the gaming systems look fun so I would invest time in some good instructions for those rather than all the other stuff. All my email interactions with owner were fine and really did like the place! Thanks for a nice stay..
