The property description was an understatement. The place was amazing and Melanie was more than accommodating. The amenities truly made us feel at home. Between the sound of the running creek, the fireplace, and the overall landscape we did not want to leave. We would highly recommend this property and would love to stay again next time we are in the area.

Just a fabulous place to visit! We loved the creek, the fire pit, the fireplace, the cornhole boards…really everything! Wonderful location for nearby hiking excursions as well. We couldn’t have been more satisfied with our stay!

My husband planned the best weekend for us, the location next to the creek is so incredibly peaceful. We walked to the nearby Twin Falls with a picnic to spend a couple hours, the hike is short-ish and the views are spectacular. We brought all of our food and only left once to visit Brevard. The cabin had all of the essentials, bed was comfortable and showers hot. This location is remote enough that we encountered exactly one other human during our stay ( on the trail), other than visiting Brevard. December is mild and it was a great visit, I already want to go back in the summer and play in the creek. This cabin is a gem! Thank you!!!!!!

Absolutely beautiful location! We were fortunate to catch the last of the color for the Fall. The sound of the creek was so soothing. Our family has relatives in the valley so we are familiar with the area and we were so happy to be on the creek! The cabin was very cozy and we enjoyed preparing meals together in the well equipped kitchen. The weather was perfect for sitting around the fire pit in the evening and we also enjoyed a fire in the fireplace while watching the Georgia/Mississippi game. An unusual feature of the cabin was a bathroom in a separate building from the cabin itself. Sort of a private spa. A very nice large bathroom off of the laundry room with a tub and shower and vanity sink. Quite a roomy bathroom. We called it the Queen’s Outhouse because it was so nice. A smaller bathroom with a shower is in the cabin. The living area is spacious enough for a family or group of 6 to sit comfortably. Very comfortable furniture including a recliner which my brother recovering from surgery found therapeutic. The bedrooms are a bit small-ish but have big comfy beds in them. Another interesting feature was the custom bunk bed with standard size mattresses on top and bottom that can sleep 4 comfortably. We thought the location couldn’t be beat. We recommend this cozy cabin to a couple or small family who enjoy “togetherness” because it is so “cozy”.

The location of the cottage is amazing. It is surrounded by mountains and the babbling creek The falls are a half mile easy walk from the cottage. The property is very well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit with nice chairs and were thankful for the generous amounts of firewood that are provided by the host. The swing is so fun and the hammock is awesome. Devils Fork state park is close by also.
The beds are very comfortable and the cabin is neat and clean. There were four adults in our group and space was just right for us. You do have to exit the house via a backdoor or a side door to go to second bathroom located in the laundry building. The building is connected to the deck. It was no problem, however, late at night we all used the inside bathroom because of the cold nights. We cooked every day and the kitchen had all we needed. Wifi worked well for three of us. Not sure why our friend’s phone never connected. We would definitely stay here again. Host was helpful and communicative.

This was a delightful stay, surrounded by lush green and a creek right along the house. The creek is what I selected our property on and it didn’t disappoint. We tried fishing (no luck), we just sat by it and read a book, talked, we brought tubes (green ones “weekend” at the dollar general) and that was the best fun! Floating and hobbling along the little rapids while enjoying the green view above, The cabin was super cozy and had everything we wished for. Beds were comfy, sleeping by the sound of the creek was wonderful. The decor was fun and really made it the cabin in the woods. We also made a campfire with s’mores and played hide and seek, kids and adults alike. Twin falls is a short walk and was equally gorgeous, we swam in the little natural pool there.
We did go zip lining at Upstate Ziplining which was amazing!
To wrap it up: all was above par and we enjoyed our stay from beginning to end. Thank you Melanie!

Sweet cottage with beautiful location. Will definitely return!

It is a beautiful spot to get away. A large creek sits 15 feet from front porch, other than running water ,,,it is quiet. Near State Parks of you want to go hike on nature trails (we did 2x)..
The cabin has every convenience needed,... clean, well maintained and comfortable. We will be back.
The bear motif that pretty much defines the living space is very appropriate. Keep your eyes peeled...

Property is amazing and exactly as described. Make sure you have all the essentials you need - there really isn't anything close by in case you run out of something. I will definitely book this property again.

We had a great time fishing, hearing the stream flowing by. Hiked to a waterfall.
The place was very nice. Beds were very comfortable. House was very clean. Everything we needed was there. Would stay there again.

It’s off the beaten path but what awaits you makes it all worth it. Sitting outside around the fire listening to the river flow. You can sit in the screened in porch or in the living room with the door open listening to the river. This was by far the best experience we’ve had with vrbo and we use them a lot. The house had everything you might need to cook meals. Lots of games to play with family or friends. Plenty of hiking trails and waterfalls to see. All around great experience.
Thank you

Our group of 8 CrossFit women had an absolutely fabulous time at this cottage! It was PERFECT! The beds were comfy, the couches were comfy, plenty of space for us all to gather and eat. The sound of the creek in the morning was wonderful with our coffee, and such a cute porch! Enjoy laughing and having s'mores at the firepit. Melanie was an awesome host and answered all my questions right away. We will absolutely come here again for another Girl's Weekend! Thank you!! - Ladies of CrossFit Sacred Pine

What a gem! We loved this adorable cabin, the lovely creek, and the peace and quiet of the area. The cabin was clean and the beds very comfortable. We wished we'd booked it for a couple days longer. The hike to Twin Falls was wonderful--not too far and so beautiful. We'd love to come back!

A wonderful place to relax listening to the bubbling creek on the screened in porch. Close enough to a fantastic twin falls overlook. So quiet and clean. I truly recommend this home.

We had a bit of a rocky start to our getaway. We missed a turn which added about half an hour to our arrival time. We recommend you saving your directions as an offline map because there is no cell service in the general area. Luckily, Melanie, the owner had directions which we had downloaded. The check-in was smooth and easy. We were unable to get wi-fi or tv as described but we had an off-site family member contact Melanie for us. She called us on the cabin landline and after several attempts at figuring what was wrong my husband was able to figure out that someone had unplugged the extension cord to the tv and modem! Once plugged in everything worked! The location was outstanding: peaceful, running water right outside your front door. We left our windows open just a crack to enjoy falling asleep to the music of the creek. The walk to the Twin Falls was easy and worth the climb to the viewing platform. Overall, we had a great time. We didn't get into our car again until we had to leave. Melanie was a very responsive host. We highly recommend this cabin.

Not sure where to begin but after a long January of work being crazy what a wonderful place to just relax and refresh!!Owner is wonderful, cabin well stocked, kept me informed of things that I may need to bring and sent detailed instructions of the location. Owner was quick to respond to my text messages and helpful from the beginning to the end of our trip. We had a great time and was not ready to leave! Three nights, two days is not enough time to enjoy the mountain air, running creek, and waterfalls just a hike away. The beds were very comfortable and I love how cozy the cabin is, great family time! Fire in the fireplace for two nights, love it! Can't say enough good things about this cabin, if you need to relax and refresh, give it a try! You will enjoy your stay as much as I did!

This property is absolutely breathtaking! The sounds of the river and the mountain views are almost spiritual. Even tho it rained 2 of our 4 days, it was still the best vacation we've had as a family. I can't even imagine what this place is like during the summer, but I'm gonna find out cause we are definately coming back. The owner is an absolute gem of a person. Thank you for a wonderful memory for our family!

Long Thanksgiving weekend spent with family.
The sound of the river sitting by the fire pit laughing and being silly with your grown children is definitely good for the heart and soul.
The separate bathroom from the house was a great “getaway for privacy” when needed was a fabulous bonus.
The grilling area makes for a great atmosphere as well.
Take what you need and chill. We look forward to coming back for some summer fun in the river.

The house is the quintessential cabin - beautiful wood, very comfortable and on a picturesque brook. So peaceful there with great walking trails nearby.

This property is in the middle of a very historic area. We had a blast exploring. Kids played in the creek for hours. And the dogs had fun too. What a awesome place just 45 min from our home. We will be back.

Although we had a mishap coming into property, "went up a trail instead of the driveway for property ", a kind community watch neighbor drove up to help us get on the right path. It was 1030pm when we was getting to the property. It was hilarious the next morning. We enjoyed our stay. The home was cozy, well-stocked with everything you needed, beds were comfortable. The creek was awesome. We didn't leave the property till almost noon everyday because it was so relaxing sitting outside and when we got back, we sat outside for a couple of hours before retiring for the night. That should speak volumes about the property!!! It was convenient area to go to many places- waterfalls, the small towns with charming downtown areas and to Asheville, Brevard, and Pickens, SC. If you to to Pickens, I highly recommend Street Tacos Restaurant. Delicious and Los of food - one meal was big enough for two. At the property, saw deer, chipmunk, and saw little minnows swimming in the creek. Will be back. Thanks for sharing your home!!

Our five-day stay at this creekside cabin was absolutely fantastic! The fire pit right beside the creek immediately caught our attention, as we turned the chairs to face the water dancing over the rocks, and let all our cares float away. The nearby waterfall is spectacular and a must-see while staying at this location.
The cozy cabin itself has everything you could possibly want or need, and the black bears décor perfectly fit! The screened porch quickly became our go-to spot! The large property offers room for everyone, including the visiting deer! Our son even saw a bear less than a quarter mile from the cabin!
Melanie’s property won’t disappoint, and Melanie herself was a delight to rent from! She quickly responded to our calls or texts, and is so pleasant! Please take her advice if you want to fish…James Couch provided an exciting and fun-filled night fishing experience, including instructions on cooking up our Rainbow Trout!!!
We’re already looking at a Spring Getaway back to this cabin, catching some more big fish, and further exploring this beautiful area of South Carolina!

Host was so responsive & lovely to work with. We loved sitting on the porch & listening to the creek. It was a wonderful stay!

Overall, we had a great stay at this property. The creek made it truly enjoyable. We were unaware that the second bathroom and laundry room was technically outside the house, in a small building adjacent to the house. It wasn’t a deal breaker at all but would have been nice to be aware of it. It all worked out fine though. The house was fully stocked with whatever we needed and more. All in all, a great time was had by all for our long weekend.

This cottage was a great place for my family! It had just enough space for me, my husband, 2 kids (10 & 14) and my parents. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. The bedrooms are tiny but we didn't come to hang out in the bedroom, so who cares :) We came to this area to see lake Jocassee (which we LOVED) and the house was an easy 20 min drive to Devils Fork. We were surprised with all the parks and hikes that are so close by! So much to do. We can't wait to come back next summer for a longer stay so we can experience even more of the area and spend way more time at lake Jocassee!

My family of 5 plus two dogs had a great week at this house! My kids loved to play in the creek and my husband loved to fish in it! We enjoyed numerous days and nights by the fire! The weeks experience brought us back to nature and peace. The house had everything we needed and the owner was very quick to answer any questions! We had a great time!

My family and our dogs had a wonderful time at your property! Very clean and comfortable with absolutely everything we needed. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. Loved listening to the sound of the creek every day and playing with the dogs in the water. The walk to twin falls was nice. I would recommend going in the morning and on a weekday, especially if you have dogs who get very excited to see people and other dogs!! Thank you, Melanie, for being just a great host. We had a wonderful time.

We loved Melanie’s place! It’s exactly as pictured but ever better. She’s hasn’t forgotten anything. There are so many quaint touches through the house and the kitchen had everything you need to cook meals. It was a wonderfully restful weekend with dark, starry nights and ultra comfortable beds. We especially loved the porch overlooking the creek.
