About this house rental
Step through the door of Hale Mahina Kauai and feel the aloha. The great room is the center of the home and opens onto the expansive screened lanai and the tranquil garden in the private back yard beyond. Both the kitchen and master bedroom also open to the lanai which offers dining on the kitchen end and a conversation area outside the master. The two downstairs bedrooms are on opposite sides of the great room for added privacy. Each bedroom has air conditioning and a TV and there is a 47-in smart HDTV in the great room. The upstairs loft has 2 ceiling fans and a window air conditioner (though the cross breeze through the windows on either side of the loft and the fans keep it quite comfortable most of the year)! For those of you who need to stay in touch with the real world, we offer wireless Internet service. There are ceiling fans throughout, including the lanai. The well provisioned kitchen makes preparing meals at home a pleasure as well as a huge money saver. We also provide everything you'll need to enjoy a day at the beach: snorkel gear, boogie boards, umbrella, cooler, beach chairs, beach towels and more. We also include a pack and play, high chair and jogging stroller for your keiki. A much greater value than a hotel. Location, location, location! Hale Mahina is conveniently located in the lushly landscaped 70 acre Poipu Kai Resort; which is a collection of single family homes and condos nestled along the paved greenbelt between the Grand Hyatt Resort and Poipu Beach Park. The single family home is a mere 5-10 minute walk from 3 beaches, the Resort's pool, jacuzzi and 8 tennis courts, the Grand Hyatt Resort, numerous restaurants and activities. Koloa town is 3 miles away and offers additional restaurants, shops and grocery stores. Poipu is the perfect jumping off spot for touring this incredibly beautiful island. It is centrally located between the lush north shore and the spectacular west side with its Waimea Canyon and Na Pali coast overlook. At the end of your day of touring or beaching it, you can relax on the tranquil lanai with an umbrella drink or walk to Poipu Beach to watch one of the south shore's spectacular sunsets. We were a family of 4 (with two adult children) that stayed for a week over New Years. Location and house were absolutely perfect! Loved the peaceful walks up and down the greenbelt between Hyatt and Brenneckes. Location is incredible. We have visited Kauai many times before and have family living on island and this is by far our favorite area. Pool was a short walk from the house. House had everything we needed (enjoyed the well- stocked kitchen and lanai as others have shared). We played many card games around the big dining table. Really appreciate all the things provided for the beach -like towels, chairs and boogie boards. Mahalo for sharing your home with us. Couldn't ask for more. We would love to come back!

what a beautiful and spacious house! Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Our favorite part was taking a walk to the beach every morning and having breakfast on the lanai.
The living room has a huge couch where you can relax in the evenings watching movies on the smart TV. Each bedroom has a/c although we didn’t have to use it. Garage is full of beach equipment and beach toys and inflatables.
Beds are comfortable and showers are great. Lovely stay!

The turtles at the beach close by, in the evening, are terrific. And ... no roosters anywhere near the house, so we slept great. A wonderful and peaceful abode.

The location was great ! A short walk to one of the best beaches on the island . My morning routine going to see the sunrise was so amazing and the smell at that beach as I walked down the pathway was delicious ! maybe guava and eucalyptus .
The front patio coffee spot was perfect with tiny geckos and the birds made me feel even more connected to the island.
Little warning about the water. it takes a good 3-5 minutes to heat up but after that all is well ! There was shampoo and conditioner but no body wash .
The bed in the bedroom upstairs in the loft is the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! I broke my wrist on the trip six days in, and that bed meant everything to me after I had my arm in a sling. Downstairs master bedroom bed is quite firm.
Overall, I think it’s a great rental !

If I had any suggestion, I would say the downstairs bedroom, Sneed softer beds, but some people like for meds, but not me !
Everything went smoothly with check-in and communication was pretty prompt .
I love this part of the island. It was our first stay in Koloa. Fifth time on the island Kawai is our absolute favorite.

The house had everything you need for a family. Large lanai was perfect for meals and enjoying the weather. Poipu beach is very close to walk or drive. Everything you needed for the beach was at the house. Beds were comfortable, showers were fabulous. The ice machine was very handy for packing a cooler. The gas grill was in good working order, which is a plus for family dinners. Just too many nice things to day about our stay. You must pick this place, you will be in Kauai heaven!

This house was so awesome, my family and I loved staying here and it was hard to leave.
The whole house was great but everyone favorite was the screened lanai, everyone spend most of their time out there, when we weren't at the beautiful south shore beaches.
We had our coffee out there, ate our dinners or just sat and watched the rain or the sunlight through the trees.
The house was very well stocked and the owners were so quick to respond to any questions.
I highly recommend this home!

We loved the house’s location with the easy walking paths to great beaches. It was so nice to be able to use the sand toys, chairs, & wagon in the garage. We also really enjoyed the house’s beautiful lanai area for meals & relaxing. The house was so comfortable and spacious for our family.

The online process for renting this property was excellent with no problems encountered. The directions for checking in and out was clearly described as was the use of appliances and amenities. House was nicely stocked with towels, beach towels, boogie boards etc. truly enjoyed our stay!

This is a roomy home that accommodated our family of eight. It is within walking distance to both Shipwreck and Poipu beaches. We love the Poipu/Koloa area. Open the doors to the large lanai and enjoy the breeze flowing through the house. There are plentiful beach chairs, swim shoes, and beach toys in the garage.

This property is located in a great spot to get around Kauai. 3 bdrm 2 bath great for older family. We spent time on each side of the island. The location of this proprty makes it easy to get anywhere.

This a a spacious and comfortable house for six adults. It is located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to Po'ipu Beach. When we first arrived we were notified that there was an issue with the clothes dryer. The hosts immediately worked to solve the issue and had it working so we could use it during our stay. The lanai was a wonderful place to have breakfast in the morning.

With five adults and a one year old we had plenty of space in this charming house. Well equipped kitchen with a large frig and dishwasher, and washer and dryer in the master bedroom.
The property owners were wonderful and so helpful. We can’t thank them enough for giving us some extra check out time.
Their cleaning crew left something to be desired, unfortunately, but the owner’s hospitality more than made up for that.

Very pleased with this property. The owners thought of everything & are very fast to communicate back to you. Lots of beach supplies to use. The home is located 20-30 minutes to everywhere south of Kauai. The house does need some very small tlc, but that’s being extra picky. We would definitely recommend this house & would not hesitate to stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was well equipped and spacious for our family group of 5 adults. The location was easy to get to most areas of the island. We really appreciated having all of the beach gear available. We found that we spent most of the time on the lanai! It was quite hot and humid when we were there so even though the breeze moved nicely through the house the air conditioning in the bedrooms was very helpful. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

We had an amazing time here. We loved how close it was to the beach. The house was nice but they could of done a better job with the cleaning. It Was not very clean when we arrived. But overall it is as a nice house to stay in and we loved the location.

Absolutely love this property! Has so many wonderful things to offer for multi-age groups. Backyard space to relax, great location on South Kauai, amazing sites, and very clean with pretty much everything you need! Just be aware that air conditioning is only in bedrooms and loft, main part of house is fans and tradewinds.

Peace of Paradise
Loved our stay here! First I will say as a southern girl I was worried about not having A/C in every room, but it was not an issue! With the windows and doors open, the winds came right through and cooled the place off quickly. The kitchen was well stocked, and there is plenty of seating to eat inside or outside. The washer and dryer in the master made washing all those beach towels and swimsuits so easy. The beach equipment is top notch. They have EVERYTHING, you need to bring nothing! They provide beach towels, plenty of beach chairs (we used 6 and there were more left), surf board, boogie boards, football, snorkel gear, umbrellas, and a wagon to pull it all! Wifi worked great. Door code so you didn’t have to fuss with a key. This house was a perfect home base for our trip. This house is a quick walk over to the Grand Hyatt, I think it took about 5 minutes and that’s a pretty place to walk around at night. There is a pool and hot tub that’s about a 10 min walk for our use with a key fob, but we were so tired from beaching it every day we didn’t make it there. Would definitely recommend staying here, it really was perfect.

The boys slept in the loft where there was a king bed, and our daughter sleep in a queen bed with her own bathroom. Our host, Heather, was phenomenal. She responded within minutes to any question that I had about the house. She was willing to do anything to make sure that we had a pleasant stay. The house was very well equipped with newly renovated bathrooms and kitchen (well stocked). There was plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, and laundry detergent. She has really thought of everything including extra batteries, if needed. The best part was how open you could make the home so that the trade winds blew through, reminding you that the giant blue pacific was a short walk away. We never used the air conditioners, and the house stayed a lovely temperature. If we return to Kauai, there is no doubt that we would rent this home again. Thank you Heather!!

We were a three generation group, ranging from 15-76 years old. This house was absolutely perfect for us in so many ways! Kitchen had everything we needed to cook full meals, which we did. If we were “home” we were always on the back lanai. The first night we ran the air conditioning in the upstairs bedroom but learned we didn’t need it at all and didn’t run it after that. The house is designed for air flow and it is cool and breezy when you open it. I slept in the upstairs king bed and it was so comfortable, I want one for home! My 6’2 son slept comfortably on the futon as well as all other family members in their respective spaces. Shipwreck Beach is an easy walk (as is a smaller beach but I can’t remember the name) made easier by the wagon provided in the garage. We carted beach chairs and boogie boards from the garage and appreciated having access to them! The neighborhood is quiet and felt very secure, even walking around at night. The lit walking paths were lovely and very well maintained. The grocery was an easy drive as was really anything you need but in the house you didn’t know anyone else was around. Heather was very responsive, finding a Memorial Day service for us to attend before we arrived so we could plan accordingly (dad is a veteran and wanted to pay his respects locally or at Pearl Harbor if nothing local was happening), mailing home a cheap but invaluable sentimental item my mom left, answering quickly and with a great amount of care. I would highly recommend this property!
