I don’t know if people bring their wheel-chair bound grandfathers or morbidly obese cousins here to find themselves so SHOCKED at the stairs or TERRIFIED of the access road but I ensure you, if you are at least somewhat fit and have been by motorbike anywhere else off a main road in the Philippines you will be wondering what on earth all the fuss is about. I’m a 33-year old German UK-resident anaesthesia doctor of 5 foot 2 and I ride a motorbike solo with all my 12kg luggage on my back AND I SURVIVED BOTH— four times! Not just that but I also encountered the INFAMOUS toilet spider, TERRIFYING bed gecko and MURDEROUS veranda kitty— thank god the property has two security guards! Not sure what’s wrong with people’s fitness or ability to read a hotel’s description page these days but ANYWAY for roundabout 75 British pounds sterling I got 2 night’s sleep in a gorgeous riverside private en-suite bungalow, two fresh 3-course dinners, 2 delicious breakfasts, 6(?)beers, an hour’s steam sauna and a 90min massage-what?! Considering in London I spend that on 2 cocktails and 12 peanuts I think that’s a VERY good deal. Not to mention a wealth of information, kayak hire, super friendly and honest staff, gorgeous garden, butterflies, cute animals, access to 2 days of dreamy biking routes including waterfalls, springs and rice terraces, a FREE river swim to a FREE waterfall, sunrise and sunset on a beautiful veranda overlooking the jungle, a book exchange and FREE stair-master! The only thing terrifying is that I couldn’t stay longer— so nice I cried twice! If you don’t wanna come here, okay, more space for me. Best place I’ve stayed in the Philippines hands-down.

I liked the food and the social area
No good swimming spots at the area

The food
You expect being in remote jungle environment but there are river tours with very loud music almost all day. Every 5 minutes a new boat comes. Also, my matress was terrible and i did not see on the pictures that the double room is actually not your own hut. You share it with another double room but you can literally hear everything. I did not get a good night of sleep. Neigbhors talking and waking up at 4.30 etc.

Beautiful location truly in the wild, very friendly staff, good food , stunning view on the restaurant terrace. Close to main attractions (by scooter) in Bohol.
Nothing, perfect stay!

A savoir quand même :
- de nombreuses marches pour accéder aux bungalows,
- pas d'eau chaude.

The location. The surrounding jungle and the scenery. Good service and prompt response from Walter, Sarah and the staff.
Washroom could be improved. Don’t let comments about the stairs turn you away, I am a senior and I handled them without any problem.

Location senza dubbio suggestiva.

We loved our stay in the family room. Sure, it's probably not for everyone: there are quite a few stairs and a rough road to be conquered, and the walls of the huts are paper thin. But what you get in return, is an immersion into the jungle at a fabulous and peaceful location at the Loboc river. Waking up to jungle sounds, swimming or kayaking in the river... we loved it all. Our hut was very beautiful and although simple, it had everything you need for a comfortable stay (in part thanks to not having neighbors during our stay). We went firefly watching, rented a scooter, and they also arranged a boat ride when we left, al of which were wonderful. Staff is friendly and helpful, there's a nice atmosphere and the grounds are very well maintained. We also loved the communal area, with hammocks and a great view.
The food was unmemorable
It would be nice to have a hut away from any others

Nuts Huts was an incredible and amazing experience for us. We loved being lost in the nature, surrounded by the jungle, the river, the birds and the coconut trees. It was our first time sleeping in a nipa hut, it was very rustic but so interesting. I totally recommend this heaven place but you must be ready of not having mobile data, wifi, air conditioner, hot water, nocturnal life, vibrant city, good sound isolation and difficult access to get there. We loved it, a bit thank you to Walter and his lovely staff.
The insects and animals but we are in the jungle, so we need to accept it.

It‘s a marvelous place on the riverbank. Once the lunchboats have passed there is perfect tranquility. Very sympathetic and friendly staff that take care of everything.
There is nothing negative to say. If one thing: it‘s recommended to enjoy some activities away over lunchtime because of the frequent lunchboats that are a bit noisy.

This is true jungle living. We loved our stay here, but it is for a certain type of traveller for sure.
There a million stairs to get into/out of the property. you just need to be aware of that before you arrive to avoid the shock. Rooms can get very hot without AC -- this is basically jungle glamping. Not necessarily a bad thing, but you have to be aware of what you're signing up for.

Amazing place along the river. very quite and peaceful, you’ll feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere.
The staff is very friendly and helpful !
Just be aware that the access is not simple, and that there are lots of steps to reach the reception.
nothing about this place.
We just didn’t really enjoy the floating restaurants passing by the river. it’s only during midday but it’s super loud and noisy music. but once again nothing to see with nuts huts.

A very nice experience. Sleeping huts are right next to the river, no noise except for nature.
Way down and up extremely tiring with backpacks though!

A quirky cabin on the side of the river in the jungle....absolute peace and the views were stunning. Basic room but what you would expect in a jungle cabin. Lovely staff who were helpful. Lots of activities, kayaking on the river, rented motorbikes to see the chocolate hills and surrounding area and a the walk over the river through the jungle. The food in the restaurant was amazing and great value.

The location, the view, and the staff were amazing.
It’s very authentic, I felt like I was lost in the jungle.
They are a lot of stairs to go from your room to the shared area and the road. Better not have big suitcases.

Great unique accommodation in the jungle. The first hotel in the area.
No mobile reception or wifi. Not a bad thing but I had to go into town to make calls/send emails.

Loved the huts...ours had a big balcony...it was gorgeous , listening to all the rustlings and creepings at night, tucked under the mosquito net. ..so insect-loud. The food in the restaurant was very good. We had a massage...really recommend it. The kayaks are enjoyable for an hour on the river. But it was the peace we enjoyed...snoozy afternoons.
Nothing.....but the steps are many and steep. You need to have a reasonable level of fitness.

The accomodation brings the pure jungle experience with evertyhing with that connected, in a good and bad way. Great kitchen and helpful staff.
The river is quite busy with tourist boats with loud music, which is quite anoying during the day, but that is of course not the fault of the accomodation.

The spectacular view of the mountains, the restaurant deck, close to the river, good food, jungle sounds.
The road to get there was very bad. Maybe it was worse because of the rains.
Oh ant the 200 plus steps down and then up again...was not mentioned..,

Real experience of living a rainforest. A must.
The last half mile road to get there 😂

The views are amazing, you are in the middle of nowhere. At night you can relax by hearing all the animals singing in the jungle.
It was a bit hard to access… when we went it had been raining so the path to access it was quite muddy.
