Location was excellent for my event. The room was clean and it was a non-smoking room as I requested. The price was also decent.

There was no shampoo or even soap offered in the room. When I asked the cleaning person if they had any they said they didn't provide it. This is the first time in 50+ years of living that I have never had those amenities in a western hotel. The internet was non-existent even though they had it in the building. It did not cover my room and was spotty at best if I ever could connect to it outside my room. The owner of the hotel seemed to just sit in the main bar on his computer day in and day out smoking. He was pleasant enough and checked me in and out decently so I have nothing negative to say about that. I don't care what people do on their own time but when you run a professional establishment and your guests walk in through the front doors and immediately get hit with this overwhelming reek of cigarette smoke and stale nicotine, it doesn't sell well. I was in Trossingen two other times in 2015 and 2017 and stayed up the road in a different hotel. I had friends staying at the Baren and every night this hotel used to have overwhelming people in there for breakfasts and dinners and drinks during the evening. This is what I expected when deciding to stay there this year for the first time only to find that it has basically turned into a ghost town of a hotel. No dinners or breakfasts offered except a basic continental breakfast now. No bar and no dinner service. I'm not sure what has happened in the last few years but this hotel is not what it used to be.

Great location, right in the heart of Trossingen.

The WLAN/WIFI was very unreliable. The whole town is very behind with connection to the cyber world... Sometimes a good thing.
