Location is really ideal if you are going to Whiteface. We were going to Santa’s workshop so it was perfect. The only thing I would say is 10 seemed a bit early for check out but overall lovely stay.
Big enough for all though downstairs bedroom is super loud with any foot traffic upstairs. No one’s fault just nature of the building. Fireplace is great, very cozy and plenty of space for all of us.

It's not often you find a place with all that this place has and everyone was thrilled here. We will be back. Best vacation ever. Thanks for everything Steve Clark

This house is beautiful and had some really comfy furniture.
Some things I would suggest/ improve for the owners are:
The jets in the tub did not work
The fly trap on the ceiling of the living room is full and needs to be replaced
Dont charge a cleaning fee if your guests strip the beds and take out the trash by the check out protocol
Other then those things we had a great time and it was a very nice stay!

Beautiful home
We stayed with 3 other couples and this house was very accommodating. About a 20 mins drive from lake placid. Has a fire pit behind house. Very glad we stayed here!

We had a great time and enjoyed staying here. The house was very cozy ( even in -22F outside) and the kitchen was well equipped. When I had any questions the owner always responded quickly.

House is situated in a very private location. Many amenities were provided. Nice grill and other appliances. Very comfortable and in great shape. View of the mountains is blocked by trees, but that's minor. Owner provided wood for the fireplace and fire pit.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed out stay at this cabin in Wilmington, NY. The cleanliness and comfort of the home was impeccable. The location was perfect, being a short drive to many wonderful hikes that we enjoyed including, but not limited to, Mt. Jo, White Face Mountain, Flume Trail, Copperas Pond etc. This home felt peaceful and secluded but also was accessible to many wonderful sights of the Adirondaks. This truly was one of our best VRBO experiences yet!

Amazing rustic cabin in Wilmington, NY
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed out stay at this cabin in Wilmington, NY. The cleanliness and comfort of the home was impeccable. Stayed in Wilmington with the whole family, 6 adults and 3 kids. Beautiful home, quiet property, and it had everything we needed. Rooms were comfortable, each had a fan for the warm evenings. There was more than enough sleeping space for all of us, and even though the property technically only has 3 rooms, it felt like there were 5. Would absolutely stay again.

Great property near Lake Placid
I recently stayed at this property during a long weekend in February. The house was well maintained and was perfect for our family. The house is at the end of a long residential street and is very secluded, yet a short and scenic drive to downtown LP. We enjoyed evenings by the fireplace and listening to the small stream that runs behind the house. This is a perfect home if you are looking to visit LP but don’t want to stay in the village and would rather have a more remote base.The house is very close to Whiteface and area hiking trails. I would definitely visit this property again should we return to the Lake Placid area.

Beautiful place loved it. Wish we knew that 2 of the queen beds were air mattresses though. Otherwise wonderful vacation

Peaceful Retreat
We had a very good time. Enjoyed the big front porch. We had a wonderful fire in the backyard fire-pit the stars were so clear, the sound of the creek soothing, and the firewood perfectly seasoned. The house was well supplied including basic spices, flour, and sugar. There were good magazines, books, dvds, and games to borrow. The public beach/ park, Lake Everest, just down the road was great for the family with wonderful views of the mountains. Also just down the road, the flume trails. Head south, park in the lot on the right, cross the road, hike about 1/4 of mile to a swimming and rock jumping area. Different heights to jump from, The kids and I tried the 10 and 20 feet and loved it.

Lovely Summer Stay
We had such a great weekend with our family here. The cabin was lovely and in such a beautiful, scenic area. It was nice to be in nature, but still within 15 minutes of Lake Placid. The owners were great to communicate with and provided everything we needed for a great stay. On top of that, they even contacted us regarding an item we left and mailed it to us on their dime. Thanks for a great stay! We would gladly come back!

Lovely property in beautiful Wilmington NY
We really enjoyed our stay here, lots of room, beautiful house on a very private spacious lot nestle in the woods. The stars we truly amazing at night. There were extra blankets and towels for us and plenty of room for our big family. The only 2 things I would alert anyone too is that the noise dose echo in the house and people walking upstairs sure do make a lot of noise for sleepers downstairs. Also, there were no curtains in this home. Not a single one. So be sure to bring an eye mask if you are sensitive to light in the morning. It was actually nice for some us to be awakened by the light but others like to sleep in and found it hard to do so. The owners were very helpful and sent us a lot of information about the area, things to do, and places to visit. It was overall a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for the perfect getaway in upstate NY

Great location but challenges made it less than a perfect stay.
First the great things: The house is beautiful in a great location. The front porch and grounds were wonderful. We sat and listen to the birds every morning and we even had a visit from a couple of deer and hummingbirds. We really enjoyed listening to the sounds of the brook that runs past the house.
Now the challenges: The TVs in the home are old analog, tube TVs that have been adapted to receive digital over the air. That means two channels, one of which is a shopping channel. Forget bringing any devices (like a Chromecast or Firestick) that require HDMI. There's no connections to be found. You can bring your DVDs. There is player in the front room but plan to watch them on non-widescreen.
As for the kitchen, it did have the pots, pans and utensils we needed but several needed serious cleaning before we were comfortable using. The oven was another surprise. We arrived late and popped in a couple of frozen pizzas we bought coming in while we unpacked. Next thing we knew the kitchen was filled with smoke! We discovered that a prior guest had some sort of spill in the oven which caught fire. It burned off rather quickly but it did require opening all the windows to keep the smoke detectors from going off.
The next day we discovered a similar surprise in the gas grill. It caught fire when we pre-heated it as there was a lot of residue that wasn't cleaned up from prior uses. Fortunately, we had moved it out from the screened in porch before we lit it.
Of special note, none of the windows have any treatments, which isn’t a big privacy concern given the private, wooded location but don’t expect to sleep in past sunrise unless you bring a mask.
Lastly, we came home one evening to find that the DSL internet and the phones. We reached out to the “guest contact” Evoke Vacation Rentals had provided for us by both email and twice by phone but never received any reply or acknowledgement. After being without either for half a day we called the emergency number on the refrigerator. He was very nice and found out a truck pulled down a utility line by the post office in town. We can’t blame anyone for that but we were really disappointed by the lack of response from the guest contact.

So Relaxing!
The home was beautiful and immaculate! It's obviously well cared for. The kitchen has everything you need. We had a great time with four adults and four children. Plenty of room for everyone and the beds were very comfortable. The only suggestion I would make is to possibly provide fire pit seating? If not possible, make a note to bring camp chairs. I would also suggest cutting a better path to the mountain stream. Those are two very minor minor complaints and had little impact on our enjoyment. The location was perfect for activities we had planned and we will definitely return. Thank you!
