Do not expect a typical and boring Costa del Sol tourist destination. Huelin is an old district of Malaga, a classic Andalusian quarter, with its friendly, warm and communicative people. All amenities such as supermarkets, bars, restaurants, beach life and culture in the immediate vicinity, making this apartment a unique object. Nearby, just 3 minutes walk from the apartment, the famous market of Huelin invites you to replenish the fridge with local fruit, vegetables and daily fresh fish and seafood. Here are some more good news: The apartment is located just 7 km from the airport. The journey to the apartment takes only 10 minutes by car or taxi (15 EUR). Huelin is an old city district of Malaga. In just 20-25 minutes you can walk to the old town (taxi EUR 6). Along the beach you will find the so-called chiringuitos', traditional beach restaurants where the Sardinas and fried fish are oceanfront, the kings of the menu. On the beach you can hire sun loungers and umbrellas for rent EUR 3,50. In short: Huelin is a great place. It combines city and beach life in an ideal way. Why stay in a hotel when you can enjoy the amenities of this recently completely renovated and fully equipped apartment? This beautiful apartment (128m²) has 4 bedrooms (3 doubles and 1 single) 2 bathrooms (each with large bathtubs), one en suite. The large living and dining room offers spectacular sea views. Fast WIFI is included in the rent. There is a large flat screen TV in the event that you want to spend a quiet evening at home. There is a total of 3 balconies, two of them with sea views. Another advantage is a private and free parking. The kitchen is fully equipped. Here you will find everything you need for the duration of your visit: washer, dryer, kettle, juicer, coffee maker, toaster, oven, microwave, refrigerator, iron, ironing board and further kitchen utensils. Towels and bed linen are provided of course available. The apartment is located on the first floor and has an elevator. There is also an elevator for disabled (Wheelchair), on the left side of the main entrance (see photo), which can also be used for the carriage of baby carriages and luggage. The apartment is furnished in a modern and elegant style. The mattresses are new and very comfortable. Below the apartment is a coffee shop, where excellent breakfast is served at very reasonable prices. The beach and the famous 'Antonio Banderas Promenade' is located directly opposite the house and invites you to all kinds of outdoor activities.

If you are considering a wonderful spot for you next visit to Malaga, we strongly recommend Mercedes apartment in Huelin. Communication with Mercedes was terrific, and check in/out a breeze. The apartment is fully stocked with everthing you will need including beach towels. We were even greeted with some lovely staples to start us off -- so very thoughtful!
As previous reviewers have stated, it's in a great location across from the beach and just about a 30 walk to Malaga Centro. Lots of great restaurants and bars close by -- we especially loved Chuptirya for the great seafood and the little El Chispito bar for a glass of wine on our way home (the owner was lovely!). We also recommend Chiringuito Los Compadres. The beach is much better than the one across the street. You can rent two sunbeds and an umbrella for 10 euros. The staff are marvellous and the food terrific, fresh, and reasonably priced.

Fabulous apartment in a great location. It’s about 2 kilometres from the centre of town and easy to walk into. The beach is a stones throw away and lots of cafes and restaurants. We had a fantastic few days in Malaga.

What a wonderful property! Mercedes you are an absolute gem! Such a great host. We couldn't ask for a better location, right across the street from the beach. All the restaurants in the area, delicious. A close walk to the nearest grocery store and a decent walk to the train station.

Mercedes met us as we arrived! This property was perfect for us! Clean, roomy, decorated beautifully and the balconies are a wonderful place to sit back with a glass of wine and watch the ocean and those strolling the promenade. Watching the sunrise from this apartment is magnificent! The kitchen is well stocked and along with WIFi and smart TV we were able to watch local TV, stream Netflix, HBO, etc...The building is also very secure. We wanted to stay in a more immersive neighborhood instead of an area of tourists, and we were so lucky to find this apartment in Huelin, Malaga! Within steps, or a block or two from this apartment, you will find countless bars, restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, the Auto & Fashion Museum and the fabulous Huelin fresh market. It's all so convenient! The Mediterranean is just across the road with easy access to the beach, promenade and restaurants - you must try the grilled sardines! Uber to the city center is quick and about 7 euros. Bus service is also available all over Malaga. I totally recommend this VRBO - honestly, it is just lovely. We had a wonderful stay - thank you Mercedes - we will be back!!

Thanks Mercedes for a fantastic trip to Huelin, Málaga. The flat was large, comfortable for 6 people (inc our children, 1 and 3 years old) and just as the photos online showed. The property was super clean, had a good supply of beach towels, baby travel cot and high chair and was over the road from the beach. Easy access to central Malaga and near a great local market in Huelin. The area had a little bit of everything we needed - beach, grocery shopping, playgrounds, restaurants and buses into central Malaga. We had a lovely time, thanks very much. Grace.

Beautiful property and great location!
We spent a week at this wonderful property and were pleasantly surprised at how clean and we'll appointed it was! Every detail was thought about .....we felt like we were staying at a 5 star hotel! Location was great too! Loved the beach across the street and the beach bars with amazing fresh grilled seafood for lunch! Location was about a 20 min walk into Malaga Centro or a $5 Euro Uber ride. I will definately book this again!

This comfortable 4 bedroomed apartment in Huelin is magnificent. Immaculately clean, very spacious and extremely secure. There is road noise but the apartment is well insulated so it's not a spoiler. Mercedes, the delightful owner couldn't have been more helpful. Everything we could possibly need was provided. The beach and paseo is very close, across the road, and stretches for miles in both directions and has great facilities such as kids play parks, outdoor gyms, bars and restaurants etc. It takes about half an hour to walk into the historic area and port of Malaga or there's plenty of buses that leave from a traditional Spanish market about 500 m away or a taxi is about 3 euros. Supermarkets, bars and restaurants are in abundance in the area. If you fancy a day trip to Ronda or along the coast the nearest rail station is Mario Zambrano, about 15 mins walking or cheap taxi. Taxi from airport would be 20 euros. I'd have no qualms about staying again. Loved it!

Re communication. Things came through in German and it was trial and error to understand. There is a bus route but we could not figure it out. It would have been nice to have a one page that said the number. Bus stops at. Every. And goes to. We averaged over 20,000 steps a day on our Fitbit and some days our legs got tired. Also, we had never used an induction stove top and figured it out and there was a full page booklet but again, a one paragraph primer left by the stove. Same thing for garbage. You figure it out but a one page primer. Overall a very clean property, all the start up items were there. Coffee, fruit,etc. plus you could see that people leave things, such as spices, etc. we left a couple. The promenade was great and used by so many and along the beach. Other communication concern. We had a difficult time speaking with Juan and were as much at fault in not being able to understand better. I would give this property a ten out of ten and whenever there was a question Metcedes answered it

a wonderful week in a fabulous apartment
Our apartment in the Huelin district of Malaga was fantastic. Right across the road from the sea and the Antonio Banderos Promenade. It was clean, comfortable and modern and our hostess had left some 'essentials' for our arrival - milk, bread, butter etc. We went as a family of 7 - 5 adults and 2 children and it suited us perfectly. It is located ideally for shops, restaurants and cafes and only a short walk to the bus to take us into Malaga itself. (It's only 25 minute brisk walk along the promenade if you don't want to use buses). Highly recommended.

Great Spot
Clean and spacious apartment with a well equipped kitchen - be aware the cooktop is induction and you may not be familiar with that.
Nicely located :
Great view of the sea and the beach walk and it is quiet despite being just above a very busy four lane street.
Five minute walk from buses (going and returning) and twenty-five minute walk to Old Town. Seldom had to wait more that three minutes for a bus.
Numerous stores nearby for groceries and a five minute walk to a great market open until 1:00pm except Sundays.
Malaga itself is very clean and friendly and we felt very comfortable at all times. Enjoyed the Thyssen and the Contemporary Museums. Not fond of Picasso. The Old Town area is extensive and fun to stroll around and pick a good fresh air table to people watch and enjoy the food and beverages.
Train and bus stations are a short walk or a 20 Euro cab ride with luggage. Bus service to the likes of Marbella, Ronda and Granada is inexpensive and frequent.
Enjoyed a great three weeks and lucked into almost perfect weather.

A very enjoyable weekend in Malaga
The apartment is in good location and public transport is very easy to find. On arrival we were made to feel welcome. The apartment was well stocked with coffee, fruit, water and milk. Lots of helpful information was made available. We recommend investing in multi person bus cards to get around by bus. Definitely stay here again.

Great location in Malaga! Travelled with our family (3 adults and 2 kids under ten years old), and found this to be perfect for us. Plenty of space, nice amenities, and great location. Host was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend this place!

A beautiful, well equiped apartment on the seafront
The apartment is spacious and perfectly located for the ideal stay in Malaga. Only a short walk along the seafront to the town centre but plenty of eating places and shops locally.

Excellent
The property was well appointed. When we arrived there was food as well as ample toiletries. Muffins, coffee, butter were in abundance as well as extra towels. Mercedes gave us recommendations for restaurants. And the apartment was beautifully taken decorated and had two balconies overlooking the ocean. I only wish it were a little closer to the old town city center.

A great Malaga apartment facing the beach
This extra large apartment with its 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms was perfect for our group of four adults. We enjoyed very much the apartment, the commodities and the spectacular view facing the beach! The apartment was very confortable. The location is just great! Close to the city Center just a nice walk! You live as locals, market very close and very good restaurants! Thanks to Mercedes the owner who gave us a warm welcome!

Very clean and very accommodating hostess!!!
Mercedes was a wonderful hostess! She went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. She allowed us to check in early on the day of arrival and late on the day we left and she even got us an extra parking space thru the neighbors, as the condo only has one spot for parking. Her home was beautiful, clean, spacious and homey. Well stocked with pots, dishes, coffee maker, and even a juicer to make freshly squeezed orange juice, to which Mercedes had some oranges for us to start off with. I cannot say enough nice things about Mercedes and her beautiful home! Malaga was also very beautiful! Thank you Mercedes for being such a wonderful hostess!!!! May God Bless you and your family!!!!

Wonderful stay!
We spent 10 nights in Mercedes's apartment and we had an amazing time!
The apartment is fully equipped, which made our stay comfortable and convenient. The location is perfectly situated from the beach, tapas bars and museums - all within a walkable distance. Just a stone's throw away we were delighted to have found the dreamiest ice creams (by the Ocean's tapas restaurant, which we also recommend).
There are not many Spaniard who speak English, but at least it made us put in some effort to practice Spanish.
We did not come across of many tourists in the location, so we had the chance to relax and explore the local culture.
Many thanks to the host for being responsive and helpful during our stay!
We will recommend this listing to everyone who decides to visit southern Spain.

A Wonderful Spring Holiday
We, two Canadian couples, spent three happy weeks in Mercedes’ apartment which overlooks the Mediterranean. It is well situated as it is across the street from the beach with its promenade of several kilometres, many restaurants and children’s playgrounds. It is also a very short walk to the local market where the fruit, vegetables and fish are all fresh and delicious and where there is a coffee shop serving hot, delicious churros, a local delicacy. It is about a 40 minute walk (or short bus ride) to the historical old town, harbour, park, and Alcazaba. Many good, cheap restaurants are only a few minutes’ walk away and we enjoyed many tasty tapas dinners. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and hot water is plentiful. In addition to the four of us, our daughter, husband and two-year-old granddaughter visited us and Mercedes kindly provided a high chair and baby bed.
Mercedes answers questions and solves problems very quickly and Juan and Demelsa, our local contacts, were very helpful. They don’t speak English so we communicated by using a translation program on our phone so If you don’t speak Spanish it would be a useful thing to have. We were pleased that Juan was willing to order taxis for us the day we left as our Spanish is very limited. The only flaw, and the reason we didn’t give the property five stars, is the noisy road between the apartment and the beach. With the windows closed, however, it was pleasant to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view.

A Fantastic Apartment!
My husband and I spent seven weeks from mid-September until early November, at Mercedes’ apartment in Malaga. Upon arrival we were met by Juan at the gate. A great relief! We didn’t have to wait or look for a doorbell. He was right there as our cab pulled up. He took us to the apartment and as I walked in I was immediately struck by the spacious, bright, airy and elegantly furnished living dining area. The words that came to mind were “luxury condo”. After stepping into the balcony I told myself I didn’t care how the rest of the place looked like; I was happy. The rest of the condo was equally impressive. The bedrooms were tastefully furnished, the master’s suite was very spacious as were the two well stocked full bathrooms, and the kitchen was equipped with the latest appliances and had lots of cabinets. The unit came with a washer and dryer but I appreciated having a clothes line for items that did not go in the dryer. The seven weeks we spent at Mercedes’ apartment went very fast. We had the comforts of home and the proximity to the beach. We enjoyed the magnificent sunrise either from the balcony or while running on the promenade, watched cruise ships sail in and out of the port, took naps on the beach and went for after dinner strolls by the water. It was an idyllic vacation. And the most memorable part for me was, when I opened my eyes in the morning, the first thing I saw was the Mediterranean Sea. And I didn’t have to get out of bed for it! Mercedes’ apartment was a gem, for its amenities and location. The beach was right across the street and the restaurants and ice cream shops steps away. It had everything we needed: ample supply of beach towels, beach umbrellas and a grocery cart that made our trips to Mercadona (a few blocks away) much more convenient. As a host, Mercedes was truly gracious. She had fruits, snacks and drinks waiting for us and quickly responded to any of our questions. Staying in this place is an experience I would highly recommend.

We love this apartment!
We've stayed here twice - lots of light; south-facing balconies overlooking the Mediterranean, beautiful sunrises... we come here to escape the Scandinavian winters, so sunlight is high on our list of priorities! This apartment is excellent for families - we bring the kids and the grandparents - it's spacious and has everything you need. Wifi and heating both work well. Clean, well-maintained. We were ready to come back despite the lack of dishwasher last year, and this year we were delighted to discover the remodeled kitchen and new dishwasher! The owner is very helpful and friendly - ready to take of any needs that arise. The location is great: we originally chose it for easy access to beach and playgrounds for the kids, and then we discovered how much we enjoy the neighborhood itself, the lively mercado, the seafood. The center of Malaga is easy to get to by bus or taxi, but we ended up walking most of the time. You only need a car if you plan to visit other towns in the area, such as Granada or Ronda. My only hesitation in giving a good review is that we may face more competition in booking next time we want to come!

Great Apartment in Malaga
The apartment was just what we needed when we reached Malaga after two weeks of touring Europe...Sun, warmth, beach and terrific accommodations. Demelsa was waiting for us when we arrived and though her English was limited we had no issues as she showed us through the apartment and provided us with the keys and her contact information.
The apartment was in a perfect location for walking along the walkway beside the beach in to town to explore, or going a few blocks in any direction to find cafes and restaurants (got our fill of delicious seafood) to eat at. We ate out most of the time but certainly didn't have to, as the kitchen was well equipped for preparing meals and the market was a couple of blocks away.
The whole apartment was tastefully furnished and provided all the "creature comforts" you could want, certainly more than we expected. Two couples traveling together, we definitely had lots of room to ourselves when we wanted it. Having a washer and drier in a separate laundry porch was quite helpful.
We arrived late in the evening and were pleasantly surprised that Mercedes had provided fruit, bread, rolls, coffee and milk for us the get through the next morning, actually, several mornings!
Mercedes was a pleasure to deal with. She answered all our questions quickly and even had her sister-in-law come over when we had a problem with a key in one of the side gates.
We really enjoyed Malaga and staying in Merecedes' apartment. If we get the chance we would definitely stay there again.

Had a super time! Great apartment😀
Thank you for renting your great apartment to us. So pleased to find everything there for us, towels, beach towels and blankets for the beds, both showers with baths so perfect with kids, no problem at all with hot water, and hair dryers provided. Ample storage space in kitchen and thank you again for groceries left, we arrived late in the evening and were so grateful for milk and bread, and beautiful fruit bowl.
Perfect location for us, we are a family with our two young daughters, 6 and 2, so playgrounds along the beach front were a hit, we have family and close friends in walking distance so no need for a car.
Will definitely book here next time we visit.
