Loved the view and property. Bit difficult to get to and little remote, but if you are prepared for that it is well worth the trip.

This is a great property if you like to be a bit away from town. Beautiful views, all the things you need for a comfortable stay, and very responsive owners.

Nice place, great view
Very smooth, clean. Tight road up to home with terrific view and nice yard.
Had a washer but could use a dryer. Only instant coffee. Would stay there again.

Gorgeous view & lovely home
We were very comfortable staying at this home. We only had an overnight and loved this home. It’s about a 5ish minute drive from Kinsale. And the views are STUNNING! The back yard is amazing and if you have kids they will be happy playing on the swing set and large yard.
It’s a beautiful home.

Nice but a bit dirty
When we got to home there was food on table still, there were beer tops on furniture, no hand towels or wash clothes in home. In fridge was an exploded drink of some sort. Cleaning crew should be changed.

Communication from the beginning was absolutely incredible. Patrick did an outstanding job making sure we had all the information for check in and even reached out to us during our stay. The house had plenty of room, was clean, great backyard for the kids to play, and best views of the Atlantic in Kinsale. If you are visiting Southern Ireland this is the place to stay. Kudos to everyone on making our stay easy and hassle free.

Really lovely house & location for exploring Kinsale
We were a group of 8 staying here for a weekend in June 2022 and the house was the perfect size, really clean and spacious for us. It is situated just a short drive from kinsale really near the sea and has a lovely garden. Would highly recommend.

A beautiful water view property!
We only had a two night stay at this beautiful location. All 5 of us wished we had more time there. Rooms are excellent. Kitchen only used for tea, but looked adequately appointed for cooking. One must remember to shop for food, and condiments, as cleaning crew does a good job to provide a pristine environment. Third bedroom is bunk beds. Backyard has a swing set that my 22 year old enjoyed. Also a barbecue is available but remember the fire brickets. We would stay at least a week to enjoy the property.

This was the final place that I, my partner, and our friend stayed on our 10-day trip to Ireland - our excitement to stay here quickly turned to disappointment. If you are traveling across Ireland, this IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. At 3x the price of any other place we stayed on our trip, we were excited for the views and outdoor space that came with our splurge. It is NOT WORTH IT. We had amazing experiences with other Irish hosts who took great care to accommodate us, even going the extra mile to provide food, toiletries, coffee+tea, washing powder, etc. Those hosts were interested to meet us, interact, and check in on how things were going. They cared. Our experience with this host could not have been more different. I am new to Vrbo, so did not realize that many of our needs, including shampoo/soap, washing powder, etc. would not be provided. Is the listing accurate? Sure. Is it easy to tell whether this is the right place for you? No. Heed this review - you need to bring every essential with you to this place, because it is spartan and soulless. When I messaged the host about soap and washing powder, the response was curt and lacked empathy. There is seemingly no interest in providing a great guest experience, or hospitality in general. I was grateful that we only booked one night here, and I would never return.
My advice to the proprietor is to hire someone who has enthusiasm for hospitality and providing a great guest experience, and give them the freedom to do that work and do it well. My advice for anyone traveling in the Kinsale area - avoid this place. It is not worth the money and disappointment.

This is s a beautiful home in a beautiful location! It was a little bit of a challenge to find. Once we got to the property it was easy to communicate with the hosts as needed. We had a couple of unfortunate issues such as the refrigerator not working and difficulty locking and unlocking the doors. Overall it was a great experience!

Wonderful location to stay a couple nights.
We used this house as a launch point for a couple days to see Kinsale, Middleton for the Jameson distillery, Cork, and the Blarney Stone, and it was perfect for us. The area is beautiful and the views from the house are stunning.

Great place to escape
Very comfortable, clean and quiet. The kitchen has all the dishes, pots and pans you’ll need but be sure to bring every bit of food you need because there isn’t a grain of salt or sugar nor a teaspoon of cooking oil to be found. Had a lovely time.

Nice stay
We stayed here as part of a three week visit to Ireland and England. We have always loved the area and have stayed at Old Head previously. This property is in a great area and we had some wonderful walks, enjoyed downtown even during the off season and had nice visits with the local dog ambassador. Will consider again next visit.

Wonderful home! Great views.
We loved our time in Sandy Cove. Fantastic views and a nice walk down to the beach. A short drive into Kinsale.
The house was nicely appointed and we had all of what we needed.
Barbara was very responsive and helpful throughout.
I would return and would recommend it to anyone.

Amazing place to stay. Fabulous house with superb comfortable beds. Lovely linens and very clean. Stunning views out to sea. Great location. We will be back again. Thanks for a great stay.

The view was nice and the location good, but otherwise our stay was disappointing. There was a general lack of information/instructions on many things like what to do with regular rubbish in the house and where to dry your just-washed clothes—FYI, there is centrally located washing machine, but no drier in the house. A simple note mentioning this would have been very helpful, so as not to be stuck with a load of wet clothes, as we were. When we asked about these things, we were met with swift, but curt, unhelpful, and placating responses. The shower did not drain well, several of the beds were excruciatingly uncomfortable, and the kitchen supplies were a bit lacking. The first night we noticed that many bulbs were out. They quickly sent someone out to replace them, which we appreciated. As other reviewers have said, this place has potential, but as a guest you feel that you’re given the bare minimum.

This property had beautiful views and was close to the town of Kinsale, which we totally enjoyed. We also had a local neighbors dog who we named "Buddy" visit us each day . He made us feel very welcome. However, the cleanliness of the kitchen at this property was sub par. We were not even left a clean sponge . The dishes we took out to use were dirty and we needed to rewash. There was not even a salad bowl to make salad. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable and caused sleepless nights for some. The shower must have been fixed because it worked fine. This place would be perfect if they cleaned the kitchen, and supplied it with basic kitchen needs. The matresses and bed linens including pillows need to be replaced.

Great place great view
Would have loved to stay longer. Great place to relax after touring the Kinsale area. Consider getting an inexpensive French press coffee maker for the coffee drinkers, otherwise spot on excellent.

Seamless check in. Amazing home and views! We'll be back. Only suggestion is a dryer.

Significant deferred maintenance issues
On the surface, this seemed like a good option, but the photos did not describe (1) the incredibly lumpy beds (I think my college dorm had better mattresses), (2) the fact that the front shower does not work (meaning we had 7 people sharing one shower), (3) the incredible lack of basic amenities at this property, (4) the fact that the property is next door to a manure pile resulting in wafting manure odor in the house, or (5) the fact that the property is very remote and almost impossible to find. We've stayed in dozens of VRBO units over the years, this was the worst. The sad thing is that with just a little TLC and a moderate investment (e.g., new mattresses, new/sufficient towels, better quality linens, showers that work properly), it could be a decent place.

Beautiful setting
The property is set in a beautiful location! It is comfortable and cozy. A few maintenance things. The shower in the main bathroom did not work. The sink in the main bathroom backs up and slow drains, as does the shower in the master suite. The property is awesome, just needs some maintenance.
