Bienvenidos! Welcome to Casa Kelmar, one of Sayulita's favorite luxury vacation homes. A surprise is waiting just behind the beautiful wooden gates. You will find a grassy lawn and sparkling salt water infinity pool. The house is beyond with sliding doors that can be opened to let the outdoors in. A lush tropical garden with fruit trees and a wood burning pizza oven is behind the home, a perfect place to relax. Ideally located on the peaceful North End of Sayulita, Casa Kelmar is a short flat 3 minute walk to the beach and a 7 minute walk to the Central Plaza. Several restaurants and shops are within a short walk. No hills to climb. There is a secure garage with parking area for a small car or golfcart. Outdoors there are several patios where you and your guests can relax. There is also a gas barbeque and outdoor sink/bar area. There are 2 patios on the main level of the home. The patio over the garage is a really fun place to watch the happenings of the neighborhood. The more private covered patio off the kitchen has a beautiful handmade table and chairs with seating for 10. There is also an outdoor living area complete with a comfy couch and pillows, a perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee or an afternoon nap. The second floor patio off the bedrooms has more seating and lounge chairs as well. Connected to the the third story primary bedroom, there is another large private patio that could even be a setting for an intimate gathering. The kitchen is very modern with an Island, stove and oven, even a dishwasher. It is well equipped for you to cook your own meals or a chef can be arranged to do the cooking for you. There is indoor seating for 10 in the attached dining area. Also on the first floor is a large family room with an oversized sectional sofa and a large flat screen TV, a perfect spot to relax after a long day at the beach. The entire first floor has sliding glass doors that can be opened and hidden to feel as the whole home is open to the outdoors. The home has four bedrooms. There are two Primary Suites with King sized beds, attached bathrooms, oversized showers and large walk in closets. One of the primary suites also has a pull out sleeper sofa. There is also a bedroom with twin beds and a bedroom with a queen sized bed. These 2 bedrooms share an open air garden bathroom with a bathtub and overhead rain shower. There are beautiful jungle and peek-a-boo ocean and sunset views from the upper patios. The whole home is air conditioned for your comfort. We had an amazing stay here. 10/10. We were a group of friends celebrating birthdays and it couldn’t have been a more accommodating property. Plenty of space, patios, shared and private. Short walk to town and the beach is less than 5 minutes away.

Casa Kelmar: All the things we loved
Safe and secure and private. Quiet side of town. Location. One block to beach, 6-minute walk to downtown. Good restaurants and markets within 2-3 minute walk. Coffee and breakfast next door at Bonita with Yoga! Ernesto the house manager. Can do anything or get anything done. Impressive. Responsive. Booked our rides from airport, assisted in golf cart rental, arranged chef – returned calls or texts if we had a question or needed help with anything. Villa well taken care of and clean – housekeeper came every day but Sunday. Claudia was fabulous. Bed linens, towels, beach towels all good quality and abundant. Hairdryers.Nice appliances (big Samsung fridge). Kitchen well stocked for cooking. Hired Chef Sirenia for 2 nights. She was fabulous and should have had her more often. She prepares on site, sets table, serves meal, cleans up and packages all leftovers. See Ernesto to book her for your stay. Excellent sliding wall windows to open space completely or close it up for security. Great AC system in each room. Main floor opens completely to outdoor dining table and pool area. Space for family to gather. Just the right size saltwater infinity pool. It got lots of use. Nice TV area and big comfy sofa. Lots of books, DVD’s and games. TV worked great. Wifi good. Outdoor shower wonderful to wash off sand before coming upstairs. Sand toys, beach chairs, umbrellas, surfboards in garage. Delightful! Guess we will be back!

The place is perfect for big families. We had a family of five plus two grandmothers and had plenty of room. Also, location - location - location! Just far enough to be quite but short walk to stores and restaurants.

Outstanding property that was perfect for a few families with infants. Location is great )one block from the beach) that allowed for easy back/forth. Pool and loving area are very nice and perfect for hanging out. Kelly and Ernesto were both extremely quick to respond to any questions or needs the group had. Will book again next time we head to Sayulita!

I went with a group of 8 people and we absolutely loved the property. It’s close enough to walk to town and far enough to enjoy peace and quiet at the house. The house itself is gorgeous with brightly colored walls and traditional Mexican decor. It was super spacious and everyone had more than enough room to relax. We were celebrating a birthday so we wanted to make the most of the property by booking a private dinner to be made at the house that I had read about in some other reviews. However there was a miscommunication with the house manager so she ended up showing up the day before we had scheduled which was sad because she had all the food to prepare but we had other plans for that night and had to ask her to come back the next day which is what we had originally scheduled. There were also a couple other hiccups in communication with the house manager that didn’t make or break the trip but everything would have been flawless if the communication had been smoother. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

The house was perfect for a family of five. The proximity of the house on the north side of town couldn’t have been better. Sayulita, Nayarit is the perfect get away.

I hate to rate this property because I’m afraid it will never be available again! But the property itself is perfection; so comfortable and the Mexican style enhances your experience. Beds good, bathrooms good, kitchen good. We had a family of 10 ranging from 2 yrs to 64 yrs. The infinity pool was a huge hit with kids and adults alike. The beach is literally across the street on a path, and it’s not the crazy downtown beach. It is quieter with amazing sunsets! You can walk 2-5 minutes to the Mini Super for supplies or to several great restaurants (shout out to Chaman Creative Kitchen, Tropical House, the pizza place nextdoor and to ALL OF THE TACO STANDS)! Downtown is 5 minutes further. We did not need a car or a golf cart. The Covid testing for re-entry to the U.S. is a pain for a large group but we went to St. Luke’s Hospital and they took good care of us. Ernesto, the house manager, is on top of things! When a couple of minor things came up, he had them handled within minutes. Honestly, I hope nobody reads this so the house will be available for our next trip. Thank you Casa Kelmar!

Great home for a group
This home accommodated our group of 7 adults easily. It is conveniently located a short walk from the main square and all the restaurants. It is also a close walk to the beach. Ernesto checked us in quickly and quickly responded to us when we reached out for help. The only downside is it is right next to a small hotel that does yoga classes every morning and the music and noise wakes you up. The guest bathroom shower also does not have a curtain so it is a mess to use but there is a shower on the main level which comes in handy.

Great way to ring in 2021

WE LOVED IT!
The house is incredible, great spaces, great design, perfect for kids. We had a great stay and really enjoyed the house. My daughter was in the pool none stop and I loved that there was lots of shade in the yard/pool for this reason. I wish I had thought about how loud and late the locals party on Christmas Eve when choosing a house in town for the holiday, but other than the noise that night, the place was a perfect spot in Sayulita. We walked into town easily and to the beach whenever we desired. The addition of Christina the housekeeper being there daily was a lovely perk!

Great property
Great location and daily included cleaning service was a great touch. Rent a golf cart- worth it. Go to beach right across the street instead of town, but strong undertow so be really careful with kids. Great small left break right there if you surf. Make sure that the pool heater is on. It wasn’t for the first two days- kids swam anyway and once the heater kicked in we all did. House is comfortable, AC is great, very very clean. Quiet at night. Would def stay again.

A joyful experience.
From the moment we arrived, I was impressed. Ernesto the house manager and daily housekeeper, Christina we’re friendly and efficient. Kelly the owner was responsive and kind. Beautiful property inside and out. The location was ideal, close to a neighborhood beach, close to restrarants, a pleasant walk to the main Sayulita plaza. All the beds were comfortable and the decorating was beautiful. It was a relaxing and quiet area. Paradise found! Thank-you Kathryn

Excellent home and location to experience Sayulita
We have rented a number of beautiful homes in Sayulita. Balancing all objectives, this house is easy to to access, no crazy road elevations, close to town and beach, the house is well equipped. The pool was big enough to handle our two grandchildren and 4 adults.
House manager, Ernesto, did a great job welcoming us, he checked in with us periodically during our stay, twice I texted him questions about the house and within minutes he responded.
Housekeeper Christina was fabulous! Home owner Kelly was very helpful throughout our trip preparation, stay and departure. Great experience!
For future trips I will first check on this house's availability.

Casa Kelmar is the BEST!!
This was my second time staying at casa kelmar and it exceeded my first visit! The house is beautiful and perfect for a large family. The kids were in the pool in between beach time. Our chef was amazing cooking us fantastic dinner meals that were better then most restaurants in sayulita and I love to eat!! Anything we needed Ernesto and Kristina were there to help us especially with my sons Mickey cake that Kristina’s friend a baker nearby made for his 4 th birthday party. It was the perfect family vacation thank you everyone at casa kelmar we sure appreciate all of you!

Espectacular, breathtaking
Had an amazing time with my family at Casa Kelmar. As soon as we arrived, we called the home owner and within minutes Ernesto was there to greet us. Cristina, the housekeeper was super nice and helpful. Perfect bubbly personality. The house is amazing. It accommodated 10 of us freely. The pictures don’t do it’s justice. The pool is a plus, since the kids swam day and night. It’s walking distance from the beach. Loved our evenings walks to the plaza. Where the food was delicious. Really fantastic property in an ideal location!
We just returned from six days at Casa Kelmar and overwhelmingly loved the house. The location is perfect - on the north side of the town where it feels calmer and more sanitary. You are right across the street from a short path to the beach, and 1.5 blocks from a commercial area with a bar, ice cream shop, pizza place etc. The house itself is wonderful. The main room, opening up completely to the outside, is perfect and the pool is so so nice (great temperature - we were in it all day). It's west-facing which means it's shaded until about ~12 or 1pm and then gets the most wonderful afternoon and evening sun. We took advantage of the in-home chef for three of our six nights - a bit pricey (relative to local restaurants) but such a treat to have dinner prepped and cleaned up at home. And the food was delicious. We also rented the six passenger golf cart for the week. Also pricey (~$75 USD per day) but it was a very high quality golf cart vs. others you'll see on the streets. Good tires for unpaved roads. It wasn't 100% necessary (10 minute walk from town) but really good given we had little ones and some seniors. We also used it to go to our favorite beach: Playa de los Muertos - a ~10 minute cart drive. While there is a beach across the street, it was not very user-friendly (hot sand, no shade, big surf/hard to swim with kids, sand too hot to walk on, etc.). Playa de los Muertos has ample shade, a buyoed-in swim area with gentle waves, lots of rocks and tide pools to explore. It was our go-to. Ernesto - the property manager - was also very helpful during our stay, following through on every request.
A few areas of constructive feedback that could be helpful for the owners (though would not stop us from coming back!):
- Mosquitoes - Ernesto assured us there wouldn't be any this time of year (April) but there were. I killed many each night on the walls around the house and still got bitten while I slept. But doubt that's unique to this property
- Kitchen - While open and spacious, it was poorly-equipped to actually cook in (very few sharp knives, just one cutting board, just one bowl larger than a cereal bowl, just one measuring cup, oven broken, etc.). I don't recommend cooking full dinners at home.
- Pizza oven - Ernesto did warn us it'd be hard, but we were unable to get the fire going to use the pizza oven (actually, it did get going eventually, but far too late for us to actually use it - made the pizzas on the grill)

A dream oasis home
Casa Kelmar might be one of the most beautiful properties I have ever stayed at. Every little detail from the cute stones on the steps to the beach views were impeccable. I came here with a few friends for a birthday celebration and to say we had an incredible time is an understatement. The pictures don’t do this place justice. Kelly was extremely responsive from day 1 and ensured we had all of our questions answered in a timely manner. The house manager, Ernesto, was also extremely responsive while we were onsite. Cristina, our cleaning lady and chef, was so incredibly sweet and helpful. I can’t say enough amazing things about our experience at Casa Kelmar and I can’t wait to come back for another stay.

Wonderful getaway
I just returned from my stay at Casa Kelmar and I couldn't be more pleased with the accommodations! From the moment I entered the front gate, looked at the pool, yard and house, I knew that it was going to be the perfect place for my four friends and me to spend the long weekend in Sayulita. The rooms, kitchen, sitting and dining areas, both inside and out, were perfectly situated for relaxing and gathering. I was fortunate to get the top floor bedroom to myself. It was so spacious with the large attached bathroom and balcony with a beautiful view... it was my own private escape. The proximity to town was perfect... not too close and not too far. Though it is a nice stroll down the road or the beach to town, access to the golf cart was a plus! This is definitely a place I would recommend to friends and family. And I hope that I will be back sooner than later.

This property is everything described in VRBO and more! Our airport pickup arranged by the owner was on time and delivered us promptly to the residence. The house was incredible....from the saltwater infinity-edge pool that you first see when you enter the lower gate to the spacious living room, kitchen and bedrooms within the residence. Our family had a blast surfing, hanging at the beach and riding ATV's. The golf cart that was provided with the home provided easy access to the local restaurants and was essential in running errands into town. Ernesto helped with booking shuttles to the airport and also provided suggestions on the best local restaurants to eat. A fantastic home, with great amenities! We absolutely be returning to the house in spring! Thanks for a great stay, we fell in love with Sayulita and Casa Kelmar!

This house is a beautiful custom home with all the perks, and yet it has an understated elegance. The entire front of the house opens up with huge stackable sliders, connecting the house to the covered porch and pool beyond. The kitchen is huge with an island and seating a-plenty. The outdoor pizza oven was a hit and was great fun. It comfortably sleeps 10, and the bedrooms are spacious. I especially loved the open-air (but private) bathroom on the 2nd floor. The beach is a block away, and even though you don't need the 6 passenger golf cart to get around (everything is within walking distance) it sure is fun to tool around in! I will definitely be back!

Luxury in authenticity
CASA Kelmar is an ideal location for a family or a girls getaway. CASA is beautiful and well maintained with daily cleaning service. The pool is amazing. Kelly arrange for transportation from the airport to the home, we stopped at the grocery store and stocked up on the way in. We even got to try the woodfired oven for pizza. Truly you could never leave the home and had a great time. However, the village of Sayulita is safe and authentic, the people are so welcoming. There is art, restaurants, hiking, beach bars… It truly is an ideal space. Flights from LAX to Puerta Vallarata are inexpensive too. I highly recommend Casa Kelmar for an amazing experience.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I walked through the gate to this lovely house in Sayulita. It was like a private oasis! The house is beautiful decorated and there are lovely breezes flowing throughout the open air setting. We had a great time relaxing by the quaint pool. All the bedrooms were so lovely & spacious. Just a short walk to town and we enjoyed some fantastic restaurants and the beach. Ernesto arranged our travel to the airport so it was super convenient as well. I can't wait to return back to the Casa in May. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

My family (2 grandparents, 3 adults and 2 children) stayed at Casa Kelmar for 1 week. Here are our observations/comments from our experience:
- We had excellent communication with the owner for booking the house; which included a golf cart and airport pickup.
- We arrived at the house and had no water. Our local contact (Ernesto) was able to come Monday afternoon to check out the problem. We found out the water valve was shut off so the water tank was completely empty. The tank was refilled that evening and one person was able to take a shower and then the water went out completely again. We called Ernesto and again came out Tuesday afternoon and told us the water heater pump was broken and had to be fixed that evening. We were able to finally take showers Wednesday morning - we have gone without water in the shower, faucets or toilets for more than 2 days which was upsetting. The water worked from Wed-Sat....then the pressure started declining again on Saturday when we were taking showers to get ready for the wedding.
In addition to water issues, there were smaller handy man items that had to be replaced during our stay:
- Router for the internet on the second floor was not working, replaced on Tuesday, internet was only accessible on the ground floor of the three story house.
-3 of 4 lightbulbs were not working on the side of the house. This was replaced on Tuesday, however again it was very difficult for the grandparents to see when walking up to the front door of the house.
-Ernesto came again Thursday to replace lightbulbs that were also out in both master bathroom fans. They burned out again Saturday afternoon.
Last but not least...there is construction going on literally next door. All day, every day except Sunday they were jackhammering, sawing, and placing CMU blocks and rebar. They were working right up on the property line adjacent to Casa Kelmar so Debris would constantly fall down onto the stairs and grass (we even found a nail one afternoon walking back up the stairs). Anytime we sat outside on the ground floor we had a front row view of the construction.
All in all, the house is beautiful, however there were quite a few issues we had to deal with during our stay. We really appreciated that Ernesto was able to help fix these items, however for the price we paid to stay I would not recommend staying here again. We were looking for a vacation, and instead felt like we were constantly working on someone elses house problems
