The interior consist of a formal living room and open floor area that includes dining area, kitchen and family room. Granite counter tops, SS sink and appliances and a large island are found in the fully equipped kitchen area. Grohe fixtures are used throughout the house, The 3 bedrooms with queen size beds are carpet with the designated kid’s room having the continuous cherry hard wood flooring. The baths have high end porcelain bowls and the whole house is set off with crown molding. The house is very nice and very well located in Alameda. The owners were very responsive and made our whole experience staying at the property quite enjoyable. The house has all the amenities you find in the add and it is very well maintained. We would definitely consider staying here again.

This rental was amazing--15 minutes from Oakland Airport, 15 minutes from SF ferry terminal, 10 minutes walking distance to a beautiful bayside park. House was immaculate and very comfortable. We had five adults and one kid. Everything needed for an extended stay was included. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely property in a beautiful location. Short walk to the beach or the town. Under floor heating was amazing! If we go back to Alameda we would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful location on the lagoon with outdoor seating area. Beautifully landscaped front yard and backyards. The interior has a spacious living room. A well supplied, large kitchen that makes meal prep easy. The adjacent large table allows all twelve of us to eat together. The family room gives room to spread out and still feel present to everyone. This was our second visit and we hope to return again next November

This is one of the nicest houses we have rented, with great spaces inside and outside! We spent 4.5 days here with family for a memorial celebration of a special uncle who died during pandemic. Kitches wonderful for folks helping prepare dinners.

Our family of four had a wonderful stay at the Lagoon House. It was a perfect location to visit family in East Bay and sightsee in San Francisco. We loved sitting in the kitchen (or just outside) as the sun came up and set with the lagoon as a backdrop. It’s a great property for families or for friends looking to spend a few days together.

Camp Grandparents 2022
My husband, sister-in-law and I have hosted our grandchildren during summers in what we called “Camp Grandparents” since 2004. Two of the grands have now completed high school and the youngest entering high school in the fall. The three of them and the three adults enjoyed our home-away.
This trip was excellent and the VRBO met our housing needs. Beautiful home, perfect location and the owners were great with providing feedback.
If you’re looking for ALL the comforts of home, some things may disappoint, i.e: linen, pillows, towels, detergents, etc, we’re not all ‘like home’; however, we made it work for us. No non-negotiable issues.
Overall, a wonderful experience for our family.

Perfect Spot, Great for Families
Stayed at the Lagoon House while visiting for a wedding. The kitchen and outdoor areas were perfect gathering spaces for family. We paddleboarded the lagoon and all the neighbors were super friendly as we passed their homes. An ideal spot sandwhiched between Oakland and SF. Will definitely stay again when in town.

Roomy and Comfortable
The property is located in a quiet neighborhood that is within 1 mile of shopping centers and markets. It was very clean, spacious, and comfortable with large kitchen and a pleasant patio that opens to a private waterway.

Beautiful place, extra requirements beyond VRBO
The house, grounds and setting are lovely. Be prepared, however, to get contacted outside the VRBO framework and to sign a separate rental agreement. I've never experienced that before and it felt intrusive to me. The owner insists on knowing your cell phone number, address, email, but fortunately did use the VRBO payment mechanism. Very nice, comfortable place.

We live in the area but didn't have room for our out-of-town family. This house allowed them to be close and spend quality time together in a space that worked for everyone. The outdoor space was great to utilize while trying to be as safe as possible. The only thing that was a slight challenge was that it was slightly under stocked (paper towel, toilet paper, cleaner, etc). We did spend constant time in the home to avoid COVID so it probably exhausted items quicker. If we have family in town again we would love to rent again.

Great place, quiet location and walking distance to the beach
We really enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect for our needs. The house was very clean and a bonus was being on a cul de sac for our kids to ride their skateboard and scooter. We would definitely go back.

Although here a short time for a family wedding, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. House is meticulously maintained both inside and outside, and I could not have been more pleased. So glad we choose this area, much nicer than the rest of the metropolitan area. Would definitely stay here again!!!

Incredible!! Pictures don't do it justice!
What a beautiful property! We stayed here as a group of 7 adults for a weekend in Sept. The home is clean, well decorated, and spacious in a quiet, safe neighborhood that's super close to food, groceries, and a park with a beach. And you can LITERALLY walk out back and be in a paradise with the lagoon right outside! We had an incredible visit here from sun up sipping coffee on the dock to memorable sunsets talking and playing guitar by the lagoon. The host, Annagret, was so kind and practically read my mind when providing details of our stay. It's clear that she takes great care of the property and cares to know who stays there- she called ahead of time to get to know our group! I was nervous about no AC, but she was totally right- you don't need it! The nights are chilly enough! Thank you for such a great trip!

I rented the Lagoon House property for my fathers 76th birthday, including four guest and my Service Dog.
Upon arrival we found the property clean and inviting and settled in to enjoy the time with my father and older brother. While on the way to a grocery store I received a phone call raging about my Service Dog in the house. She threatened me with a security charge and immediate eviction. I tried to explain to her the VRBO specifications for Service Animals to no avail, she continued to threaten and rage. All of a sudden her husband was on the phone ragging as well threatening me with the police, yes the police! He stated that the police were coming to evict us from the property! He said and I quote,”I know the chief of police, he was a student of mine we are friends!” Then he started to insult me saying I was,”stupid, that dogs were not allowed on the property!’ Again, I tried to make him aware of the VRBO specifications regarding Service Animals to no avail. He continuously interrupted my attempts to make him aware of something he should have already knows as a member of VRBO?
Under the VRBO Service Animal specifications you do not have to list a Service Animal on the contract because Service Animals are not Pets! For your edification as an owner or potential renter I recommend you read the VRBO specifications. VRBO makes it very clear that Service Animals are permitted on all properties and do not have to prove registration. I credit VRBO for their concern for Service Animals and owners and their protection under their regulations.
I called VRBO and spoke with a manager who provided me with a case number and made it very clear that I was within my rights under VRBO regulations. He ask that I wait on the line while he called the owners to explain the VRBO Service Animal specifications. I won’t get into details but he made it clear that the owners were now fully aware of my rights. He apologized for the owners ragging and threats and told me to rest assured that there would be no security charges or added pet charges, or eviction.
In closing, the experience was totally upsetting, unfair and unnecessary. Had the owners simple read and understood the VRBO regulations regarding property rental/Service Animals their rage and threats would have been avoided.

My husband is from the Bay area however we have never stayed or visited the town of Alameda. Alameda in itself is incredible. The history, the restaurants and shopping and the cool beach that offers all types of windsurfing lessons.
The house was exactly as described. Incredibly clean. The lagoon was so peaceful and the property is overall beautiful and well maintained.
