About this house rental
Situated in Vashon, this attractive house for £179 per night is a great option for your next trip. Sunset Beach Paradise House Sunset Beach Paradise is located on Vashon Island, on Puget Sound, in the small private beachfront community of Sylvan Beach. Just a short 15 minute ferry boat ride from Seattle, and a 10 minute ferry boat ride from Tacoma. The house is only 1.7 miles from the North end ferry dock which takes you to Seattle. It is a wonderful Northwest contemporary waterfront beach home built in 1975, with western exposure, zero bank, a 180° view of Colvos Passage and a sandy, flat beach. The house is built on four levels that includes a basement, a main level, a middle level 'bonus room', and a top level master bedroom. The main level consists of a combination living room/kitchen, full bathroom and a large closet. The basement consists of two small rooms, one with a double bunk bed, and the other room with a double bed. The basement level usually is locked out but can be available by request. There is plenty of beds/bedrooms for four people on the other levels. The middle level consists of a sitting room, and just off this room are two smaller bedrooms, one with a double bunk bed and the other with a double bed. The large master bedroom has a king size bed and a very nice bathroom with an oversized shower and double sinks. Most all of the furniture throughout the house is built-in. Everything you need is here in our clean and comfortable beach home. There is a freestanding gas fireplace, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer, a BBQ, dishes, bedding, towels, 50" Roku TV, VCR, DVD and complimentary wireless internet. Bring your boat since we do have a mooring buoy for the house. Enjoy beach walking, fishing, boating, watching blue herons fish, and eagles soar. Listen to the lapping of the waves, see the sunset behind the Olympic Mountains and the moon reflecting on the water. It is a feast for the senses. Sit back, relax, enjoy! I would also like to mention that our home is considered a walk-in which is not unusual for Vashon Island. What this means is that you can drive down the Sylvan Beach road to the water's edge. The house is located on the south walk, about a 200' flat, predominantly, cement walk. We have two wheelbarrows to bring anything in. Once you unload you park your car about 100' up the road. There are some waterfront homes on the island that you can drive to, but then have to walk/bring your things down 125 stairs. We like our situation better. It really is not a big deal. We have had a lady in her nineties visit many times. Don't forget to bring an old pair of shoes for beach walking.

While it’s a bit of a walk, this would be a perfect place to stay during the warmer months. The view is spectacular and the beach at low tide is lovely.

Absolutely beautiful views from every floor and window. The road to the property was also quite beautiful through a heavily wooded area.

Quite an uphill/downhill walk from the parking area to the property. However, a temporary parking area for loading/unloading was available with a short, flat walkway to the property.
Bed and futon were very comfortable. The only negative was the built-in furniture in the living area which was very uncomfortable.
The property owners were very friendly and helpful with information about the area. They also informed us of the distance and walk to the parking area so that was not a surprise.

We had a warm and cozy stay at the property. The living room is 10 feet from the waterfront offering wonderful views day and night. A perfect place to be on a Sunny or rainy day. Extremely helpful and kind hosts who laid out the welcome mat. We would return without hesitation.

My mom and sister and I needed a get away just the three of us- I have been coming to Vashon for the last fifteen years or so but never had the opportunity to stay at Marianna and Fiore’s before but from the description I thought it would fit our needs perfectly: quiet, beautiful, well appointed and with comfortable beds. And it did! Marianna and Fiore were there to greet us and showed us all around the house, they are very warm and welcoming and helpful, too. I would suggest bringing extra blankets if you like to keep the heat low at night, but it’s really easy to keep the heat up a bit and be plenty warm while sleeping. Watching the water while we ate and did crafting projects was such a lovely way to relax and I’d brought some of our favorite dvds and cds and the entertainment system was very easy to use so we could enjoy them. All in all a wonderful time and the only thing I’d change would be to stay longer.

The house was amazing , views spectacular , house immaculate with all details attended to . My 87 year old mom loved gazing upon the water, high tide, low tide , blue herons , from afar the ferry . We enjoyed walk along the beach during low tide . You are literally waterfront . Marianna a fabulous host . We will definitely be back .

We have been staying at the Sunset Beach Paradise several times per year for more than 12 years when we come to visit family on the island. The house is roomy and always clean. The hosts are warm and friendly. You can't beat the view of the sound from the deck and also from inside the house if the weather drives you inside.

Look no farther...
If your travels take you to the Seattle area and you want to spend a few days relaxing and enjoying life, look no farther. This property is located right on the water with stunning views of the Colvos Passage, Blake Island, and across to the Olympic peninsula. Getting there couldn't be easier -- just a 15 minute ferry ride from Fauntleroy (in West Seattle) and a 5 minute drive from the ferry terminal to the house. As noted by other reviewers, the house is comfortable, well equipped, immaculate, private, and very quiet. It's only a 10 minute drive to downtown Vashon should you need to purchase supplies, enjoy lunch or dinner, or do some shopping. During our four day visit, we explored the Island from Vashon Point to Maury Island, went to a winery (Andrew Will) and a cidery (Dragon's Head), and enjoyed dining at the Hardware Store, Casa Bonita, and May Kitchen. We also took the ferry to Southworth and drove up to Port Townsend, which is an easy and worthwhile day trip. However, we spent most of our time walking on the beach in front of the house and relaxing. The views from the house are truly beautiful with ever changing light, clouds, tides and breeze. You won't be disappointed! Finally, the owners were wonderful. They answered all our questions, made recommendations for places to visit and see while on the island, and gave us a call as we left Vashon Island to wish us a safe trip home. We highly recommend Sunset Beach Paradise House!

Unique, Wonderful Vacation Spot!
My family and I are still talking about our stay here. It was probably the best vacation spot we've ever been to and we are so pleased to have been able to give our 13 year old son this memory of the Puget Sound area. The view alone is stunning and the architectural design of the home is unique. From inside, it feels like being on a house boat because you are so close to the water. The property was clean, equipped with all the comforts of home and located in a quiet, nice neighborhood. We loved exploring the beach after the tide went out and sitting on the deck in the evening to watch the sunset. The owners were very responsive, kind and caring. Anniversary at Sunset Paradise
My wife and I spent a great week at Sunset Beach Paradise. This is a very nice property with an absolutely fantastic view of the western sky. We really enjoyed watching the Ferry boats run between Vashon and Southworth. The kitchen was very well equipped for most any task one would want to take on while on a vacation, Vashon has a good selection of dining choices if you prefer not to cook. We did not have need for the additional sleeping quarters though there were many additional bunks and full beds available for families. The area does get busier on a weekend, though we enjoyed the quiet during the week.
There is a lot of outdoor seating to enjoy the breeze coming off the water as well as the beautiful sunsets.
Vashon Island is wonderful place to explore with great shops and it offers a great scenic driving opportunity.
The property owners were on site when we arrived and returned at weeks end. They are kind and eager to tend to your needs but equally considerate to your privacy.
There are many properties listed as high bank which will give you a lengthy flight of stairs to access the beach, this property is at beach level, you will however be parking your car up the hill on the access road a short walk down the beach. This works well for those who intend to spend their time on the beach rather than driving around.
I strongly suggest getting to the property and looking around then making a list of needs prior to heading into town to make purchases. There is pantry of spices, oils etc that are available to use and to be replenished by the next visitors.
I cannot overstate how absolutely beautiful the sunset views are from this property. Be sure to check the tide tables and sunset times to know the best times for walks on the beach and your photo ops.

Wonderful place to get away from everything
We stayed at this lovely home for four days and we wish we could have stayed for longer. The location is wonderful, the loudest sound is the lapping of the water on the beach. But it's only a 5 minute drive into the town of Vashon. We live in Seattle, just a quick 20 minute ferry ride away but we felt a 1000 miles away from the city. The house faces west so we could watch lovely sunsets. The house has everything you could need and we liked that we could make our own meals and not have to eat out every day.
The house was very clean and the owner checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. She is very helpful and friendly. We'd recommend this rental to family and friends and will definitely be going back.
