This newly remodeled, professionally decorated beach home is a perfect resting spot for families wanting a close walk to the beach as well as walking distance to trendy shops and restaurants on the 101 and even the 'Coaster' (train that runs up and down the California Coast) is just a short walk away. For those with cars, we are ideally situated on the coast. To the north is legoland (15 min) Disneyland (50 min) and to the south is Seaworld (20 min) San Diego Zoo (25 min) Balboa Park (25 min) and Old Town (20 min) and Downtown San Diego (25 min) The home is a duplex, but rented as a single property so you get the benefit of 2 kitchens and ample area for dining and lounging. There are 4 bed, 3 bath upstairs and 4 bad 5 baths downstairs. Moonlight Beach Place offers groups the ultimate flexibility with ample room with privacy. The property is a duplex although it's rented with both units together. With this setup, you get double kitchens, dining rooms and living area. It's ultimate for 2 or more families or a family reunion. Moonlight Beach Place offers newly paint, carpet, bed linens and mattresses. Be one of the first to experience this great getaway. Great experience, perfect for large gatherings. Host was responsive and very accommodating. The place was very spacious and convenient location.

House, inside and out, was spacious, clean, and reasonably equipped. The enclosed yard was perfect for family entertaining. The kitchen, although spacious, was lacking in some essential tools, such as a cutting board. The bedrooms were very nice. The one exception was the upstairs master bedroom, which did not have a bathroom door! Common areas were very comfortable and easily accommodated all of us. The location was perfect! All in all, this is a very comfortable and convenient house for large groups. The owner was very responsive and very nice!

The property was exactly what we needed. We ran into a couple of issues with the dishwasher and the entry codes but the owner was very responsive. The owner is very kind and engaging. Highly recommend it. The address is a bit confusing as it isn't on the street in the address but in the cross street.

I rented this for my wife's 50th birthday weekend. The property is awesome, the location and surrounding area is great and it all helped make for the very best weekend possible.
The property manager was accessible immediately for any questions or concerns.
The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cooking supplies. Appliances and bbq grill all worked fine. The ladies all really liked that they had their own bathrooms. It was a great place for our kids ranging 6-13. Good amount of parking available for all the families. I cannot specify enough how much we all loved staying at this property. It is the PERFECT place for a family and/or friends gathering.

It is really difficult to find a place big enough, but this place delivered. All the adults had their own bedroom and bathroom and even the kids had their own rooms. There were also toys and wagons for the kids to use and it made traveling to much easier. It was a close walk to the beach (even with 8 kids) and we walked to 2 separate playgrounds the kids loved. I would definitely recommend for large families looking for kid friendly accommodations!

There were also toys and wagons for the kids to use and it made traveling to much easier. It was a close walk to the beach (even with 8 kids) and we walked to 2 separate playgrounds the kids loved. The property was excellent, and in such a great location! Walking distance to the beach, and to great restaurants and bars in downtown Encinitas. The place was clean, had plenty of amenities, and was perfect for a large group. Highly recommend!

Beach vacation
This is a great location for a large family. Walking distance to the beach and downtown areas. Only reason for overall 4 stars is the lack of some kitchen items-only 1 set of hot mitts for the 2 kitchens and no dish towels that we could find. Also, the knives are horrible and there aren't many coffee cups. Otherwise fantastic and many beach amenities are provided-kids' sand buckets, boogie board, chairs, and beach towels.

Moonlight Beach Retreat
Our group found Rebecca and her Moonlight Beach VRBO a wonderful experience! The place was clean, beautifully updated with a lot of beach equipment available for us to use! Rebecca was available and responded quickly to any concerns we had. I would highly recommend staying here!

Quality choice
Our family had a great time, quick walk to the beach, great food like NAPIZZA and shopping. The property comes with a couple chairs so you don’t have to over pack there. Only complaint is really the train but the noise isn’t even terrible would definitely recommend.

Great location for large families
We had multiple families celebrating Christmas together in San Diego and we really enjoyed the duplex aspect since we had two babies with us. It let the families with the young children have a quiet separate space and adults that stayed up later had another place to hang out. The location can't be beat. It was great to make a cup of coffee and walk down to the beach to drink it in the morning. We also walked all throughout the neighborhoods, the main street in Encinitas as well as up and down Moonlight Beach and Swami's. The inside of the house is newly renovated and everything was very clean. Everyone had beds that were comfy, no one needed to sleep on a sofa or air mattress and they provided Pack n' Plays for infants, which was appreciated! The exterior of the house could use some love for the price point: ie loose carpeting on the stairs to the upper unit which people slipped on, cushions on patio furniture were dirty and completely torn to the stuffing and we weren't able to sit on them. But all in all, we had a wonderful stay. Rebecca was great to work with--always quick to respond and easy to get in touch with. This is by far the best option for large groups this close to the beach. I would highly recommend this rental!

Beautiful home
We had a wonderful time with our family! The inside of the house was spectacular. Only negative thing I can say is the railing on the outside stairs is rusting away and we almost had a family member fall down the stairs because of it. The cement on the stairs is also crumbling away. So as long as people stay off the back stairs All is perfect ☺️

Very convenient to beach. Rebecca responded to small issues quickly
All 16 of us had a wonderful time. The only disappointment was the dining table and the benches instead of chairs. Chairs would’ve been more comfortable. We all spent most of our time downstairs and spent a lot of time sitting at the table. The outside of the building could use some trees or color or landscaping to look more impressive. It is really a great place to stay and highly recommend it to others

Perfect property for a large group
We travelled as a group of 16 (5 adults, 11 children) and had a great stay. The property is perfect for large groups having many separate bedrooms including a couple of 'bunk bed' rooms. There are large living areas and kitchens, as well as private garden spaces. The property also has off-road parking space for about 4 cars. The property is just a few minutes walk from the beach, and a few minutes drive from the main roads. The owner, Rebecca, is very helpful and pleasant and resolved a minor problem we had in the same day that we contacted her. All in all we had a fantastic stay and I can definitely recommend this property.

Very clean & updated interior finishes, well located to Moonlight Beach.
Overall we had a great experience, as we rented both the bottom flat and the top flat for a one week family vacation of 16 adults & kids. The interior of each home was clean and modern, and the patio is more spacious on the bottom unit than for the top unit. Parking is very easy for large SUVs and trucks, and the location/walk to Moonlight Beach is approx. 7-10 minutes depending on your urgency. Overall a great experience for a large group wanting to be in Encinitas.
