Kanaloa at Kona is considered by many to be the nicest resort on the Kona Coast. It sits on an ancient Lava flow that juts out into the Ocean about 1/2 mile, thereby separating the resort from the noise and traffic of Alii Drive, with entrance through a quiet residential neighborhood. All the other resorts in town sit right on Alii Drive. The resort is beautifully manicured and is located on a quiet, peaceful 16 acres bounded by the Kona Country Club Golf Course on the north, the ocean on the west, serene He'eia Bay on the south,. Walking distance to all the activities of beautiful Keauhou Bay, and less than half a mile to the Keauhou Shopping Center with supermarket, drug store, urgent care, and many shops and restaurants. Due to the integrated design and low density of the property, it has the feel of "Old Hawaii", as opposed to condo or apartment blocks with a few palm trees spread around. The resort is a gated community with three lovely pools, each with jacuzzi, shower, and changing rooms, two lighted tennis courts, six BBQ's, and a front desk with a very helpful concierge on duty to assist you. The Kanaloa at Kona oceanfront restaurant is again open for service, providing fine oceanfront dining in Keauhou at the water’s edge. There are enough world class beaches up and down the coast for you to explore a different one each day! The condo was upgraded in 2015, and new carpet installed in 2018. The condo also has vaulted ceilings in every room giving it a very large open feel. There are three lanais in unit. The spacious main lanai is oceanfront off of the living room and the two back lanais are off of the master bedroom and guest bedroom facing the mountains. We keep the condo stocked with snorkels, masks, fins, boogie boards, floaties, beach towels and a cooler so you're ready to start your vacation as soon as you check in! You have several dining options. You can enjoy meals with seating for four at the glass table in the dining room or you can enjoy your meals oceanfront on the main lanai. You can also dine at the small table for two in the kitchen. The spacious kitchen provides guests with all of the amenities and appliances to create gourmet meals right in the condo. Hawaiian Koa wood cabinets, tiled floors and granite countertops compliment this large, open kitchen with lots of cabinets for storage. Keywords: Condominium

We loved the unit.. it was easily accessible Very clean and ready when it was promised to us! Especially loved the view off the lanai. Sent many pictures to friends and they also loved how beautiful it is!

Great location, good view from the lanai, walking distance to beaches and grocery store, but is still nice and quiet. We love this property. We can watch the sunset from the pool area. The property manager is very responsive.

Our November stay was fantastic. Owner and manager were super in multiple ways. Our unit was close to two pools and had a very nice bay view. The kitchen was well stocked. A bonus was three air conditioners for our use as needed. We look forward to returning in the future.

Clean, and Comfortable is just the start of this excellent home. The home is well-appointed with everything you need. Fantastic location on the resort with a direct view of Keahou Bay from the lanai! Parking spot is right at the stairs, main pool is just across the drive. The entire Kanaloa at Kona Resort is clean, well-maintained and beautiful. A great place for you Hawaiian stay.

The condo was spacious and we enjoyed morning coffee and ended the evening on the lanai listening to the sound of the water. The condo does get warm during the day, even with the AC, but cools down at night. We would stay here again as the property is gorgeous, with restaurants, grocery stores and shopping nearby. Another plus was the snorkeling gear, beach chairs and towels.

A truly delightful stay. This beautiful condo had everything we needed. A spacious kitchen. 3 lanais. So many places to eat and relax. Filled with light. A beautiful view. Tons of amenities. A beautiful property with three pools. We never wanted to leave.

This place is gorgeous! Beautiful home, spacious, everything you will need already here for you. Beautiful property, pools, tennis courts, right on the golf course. Just a short drive to so many different beaches and stores. Loved it! Thank you. Yes, we will definitely stay here again!

This condo is amazing! We had everything we needed and more! There was a slight issue with the air conditioning, but Rita had an electrician come out right away and it was fixed and VERY comfortable. Beds are also very comfortable. Location is perfect, away from the hustle of Alii street, but very close to everything. The bay is awesome, lanai perfect for morning coffee listening to the waves hit the shore. This was our very first time on the Big Island and we definitely will be back. We won’t think twice on renting this condo again.

We loved this condo! The location was nice and quiet. Away from busy tourist resorts. Grocery located very close. Views were amazing. Everything we needed was provided. Would definitely stay here again. Don’t miss the sunsets from the ocean pool! And the A/C was much appreciated

My friend and I really enjoyed the quiet neighborhood of this property. The unit is large. There were only 2 of us but I could see it still being spacious with a few more people. We thought the beds were comfortable and enjoyed the a/c. The view from the living room lanai was beautiful. We enjoyed having dinner out there every night. I had very good communication with Steve (the owner). There is an easy walk to the marina, which is picturesque, from the property. We used the Quiet/Adult pool a few times when we didn't want to go to the beach.
Everything seemed well maintained. Property is also a 5 minute drive to a grocery store and pizza place. We used both. The property is gated which is nice. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything was perfect. Place had everything we needed and then some extras. The view from the lanai off the living area was amazing. The resort was very quiet and peaceful. Already talking about returning next year.

We loved how comfortable this condo was for family of 2 kids, and 4 adults. We enjoyed drinking coffee on the beautiful lanai and the fully stocked kitchen for meals at home. We couldn’t figure out how to get the ceiling fan on the lanai to work, but other than that, we loved this vacation.

I let the owner know a year ahead of time that I was shortening my reservation by two weeks.Instead of 7 weeks we would be staying 5 weeks. He wrote back and said that it was too hard to get VRBO to change the reservation and that he would fix it before the final payment was due in Dec. I wrote him Dec 1 and reminded him of this and got nothing back. So VRBO was going to charge me for the whole 7 weeks. After arguing with VRBO and the owner they both said all I could do was cancel my reservation completely. This was 3 weeks before we were coming to Hawaii-----if the owner didn't want to rent to us for the same price there is nothing with VRBO that says he has to so we would be out of a place to stay. Because there wasn't any other places to rent at that late date I just had to leave it and basically was out $2700. A complete rip off!!!!
The unit itself is old like much of Kanaloa is. The shower downstairs was just hanging there and not attached at the bottom. The AC worked ok in the LR but was not real cold in the bedrooms. The kitchen was ok but very dark.The view was nice but the deck furniture uncomfortable. There is also many stairs just to get to the front door and many more to get to the upper bedroom. Not fun with luggage and groceries. I would not stay here again.

We have stayed at Kanaloa multiple times and find it to be one of the best vacation condos in Kona. Kanaloa is in a great location on the waterfront within walking distance of snorkel beaches, shops and restaurants. The units are roomy, clean, quiet and nicely furnished. Most of the units have central air conditioning which is a must in the summer months.

This place was wonderful. My kids loved going to one of the 3 pools in the neighborhood. There was plenty of snorkeling gear for all of us. The location was perfect, just a short drive from down town Kona. There’s a fairly large shopping center just a mile or so from the condo that has anything you could need as well. Kitchen is well stocked, plenty of beach towels and very comfy rooms.

Had a very nice stay in this condo. Enjoyed sitting out on the lanai watch the waves crash in the little bay. The resort area is clean and well kept. Pools are not too busy and it is easy to get out to town in a few minutes. A good spot that close enough to everything and yet private.

We loved this beautiful condo and that it was well stocked so that we didn't have to think about basis amenities. It has a gorgeous view, and a beach that we could walk to and my son could surf at. Such a nice resort with tennis courts, pools, and hot tubs. We highly recommend this condo!!

The lanai/view is the best part of this rental. The location of the property is ideal for this island, centrally located and enough off the main roads that it doesn’t feel congested or crowded. The home is comfortable and fit our needs perfectly. Stocked with all that you might need. Perfect for a family with older kids.

This condo is sturdy built and very quiet. Unit faces a rocky beach inlet to the ocean, but not directly west so the sun does not impact the lanai. Unit is large for the price. has 3 lanais. Everything worked. Tv/cable simple to operate. Glad we paid extra for the aircondtioning. The Ocean View pool was very nice. Waves crashing, spraying up while relaxing by the pool. Overall good experience!

The owner was responsive and helpful. The added extras were appreciated however, one pair of fins broke so we purchased and left a new pair. Also a beach chair has a broken arm but still works. The 2 bedrooms were perfect for 2 couples. And of course the view was fantastic! We hiked down to the “cove” often to see beautiful fish life. Thanks for sharing your lovely place.

The owner was responsive and helpful. The added extras were appreciated however, one pair of fins broke so we purchased and left a new pair. Also a beach chair has a broken arm but still works. The 2 bedrooms were perfect for 2 couples. And of course the view was fantastic! We hiked down to the “cove” often to see beautiful fish life. Thanks for sharing your lovely place.

Great Value in a FANTASTIC Location
The condo, though not new, was roomy and comfortable. The lanai overlooked a beautiful inlet, making meals especially enjoyable, and the property manager was friendly and very quick to respond to our questions. The location is not only beautiful, it's convenient to go either up the coast or down. We enjoyed watched the sun set from the ocean pool every day of our vacation. The beach equipment kept in the condo for use by visitors came in very handy. Totally recommend.

We had a great stay and will definitely be back. The condo was spacious and we loved the private lanai that looks out over the cove. The grounds were well maintained— we just wish the pool was open a little later than 9pm. The location was perfect for exploring the whole island and being centrally located. We can’t wait to be back!
