About this house rental
***During the Coronavirus Health Scare, We have added steps to our cleaning process to make sure you are protected from the spread of infection. --LAUGHING GULL #1--is located at Mile post 17.5. It is part of the Laughing Gull Cottages, an Ocean Front Community with a short walk to the ocean. We provide an amenities package-starter package for all guest's. It includes the following: Sheet sets for all beds(WE DO NOT MAKE THE BEDS WITH THE SHEETS. YOUR SHEET SETS WILL COME IN A VACCUMMED SEALED BAG), one towel set that the house sleeps, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bath, 2 bars of soap per bath, 2 rolls of paper towels, 2 dishwasher pods, and one travel size bottle of dish soap. *Note: During the summer season, this house has a Saturday check in day. Please enter your request dates accordingly.* Laughing Gull #1 features a Rooftop Crows Nest which offers panoramic views of the Ocean and the surrounding areas. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleeps up to 10 people on two levels. The entry level offers 2 bedrooms, bath, and a large laundry room. The laundry room is located near the entrance. It is equipped with a full sized Washer & Dryer. As you ascend to the top level, you will be pleased to find the living room clean and comfortable. A fully equipped kitchen with a Crockpot, Air Fryer, Blender, Mixer, & Seafood Steamer pot, is all you need to keep your hungry family happy. Off of the living room is the Master bedroom which has a king sized bed and an adjoining full bathroom. Walk outside and enjoy the deck, the screened in porch, or go up top to the Crows Nest. All of the bedrooms are equipped with their own SMART TVs and the living room has a Smart TV so you can use your Streaming Apps to watch movies etc. Free WiFi access is also provided. Inside the fenced in yard there is a charcoal grill for your use. We didn't forget your Furry family! You will have peace of mind knowing that your pet is safe in the chained linked fenced area. For your convenience, there is an outside shower that is fully enclosed and equipped with hot & cold water. Where is the beach? Just a short walk down the driveway and your toes are in the sand! There is a Life Guard at this location. Master Bedroom/Bedroom #3 - King bed Bedroom #2 - Bunk bed (Full and Full) w/ XBOX ONE S Bedroom #1 - Queen bed Living room - trundle queen bed Parking for 2 cars. If you have more than that there is an overflow lot behind the house. IMPORTANT NOTES: 1. During the summer season, this house has a Saturday check in day. College students and anyone 27 or younger considered on a "case by case' basis and will include additional student rate and security deposit. If you are under the age of 27, you must submit an inquiry first. You are not allowed to "Instant Book". *NO Students Allowed from Memorial weekend to Labor Day weekend. 4. If you pick a future date, please confirm with us that the rate is correct. We are a small company and update our rates as quickly as time allows. ** Here are some OPTIONAL Items to Make Your Trip Complete : 1. Evacuation Fee (5% of your total) will refund any days missed because of evacuation. 2. Beach Chairs(sitting) & Umbrellas rental. 3. Pet fee is $100 per week per pet + tax. Or if less than a week, Pet fee is $15 per day per pet + tax.

Loved the house & decor. The bed was very comfortable. I have 3 Golden Retrievers so finding a house with fenced in yard for my dogs was a must & it was such a short walk to the beach with private access.

We loved our trip! We will definitely be returning to the same house. We saved so much money by not having to board our dogs. The home was perfectly set up for pets, and we loved being able to share our vacation with our furry babies. The house was clean and so cute! It's the perfect location on the sand (no streets for the kids to cross to go to the beach). Management was very kind and communicative. Can't wait to go again.

We had a nice weekend stay. Great location along the beach, not too far from restaurants and shopping along with easy beach access. Bedrooms were perfect for us, and a nice large family room / dining area. It was very clean and all instructions were clear. We’ll keep it in mind for future visits.

Very adequate! Only issue is that only one bedroom is actually "adult-sized". Other two are very fine for young children and pre-teens. If someone has that age profile, this is an excellent rental for you!

My husband and I along with our grown daughter and her husband came for the weekend. The house was clean, nicely equipped. You can't beat the walk to the beach!
I like that there is fenced in area if you want to bring pets.
The shared living space was set up great!
There are TVs in all the bedrooms and living room - the one in our bedroom had a fire stick which needed to be set up - I did not know how to do that without an Amazon account so we did not use it. But we were at the beach so probably only would have had that TV turned on for less than an hour anyway.
I like that sheets and towels are provided, as well as plenty of starter toilet paper, paper towels and dishwashing liquid.
The only minus for us is that we are two adult couples. From looking at the photos I expected two queen beds on the floor in one of the bedrooms. Instead the queen beds were bunk beds pushed against the wall.
Because the trip was birthday gift for my daughter and son in law, we insisted that they take the master bedroom, leaving my husband and I with the bunk beds.
In my opinion, it would be very difficult for two people to get into these beds. So I slept on the bottom bunk - with a very low clearance, I could not sit up and it was tricky getting in and out of the bed. My husband slept on the top bunk and did not enjoy going up and down the steps.
The only ding on stars was because of the bed situation. Other wise this would be on my list for a return trip.

The house and the location were outstanding. We have three teenagers and there was plenty of room for all five of us (and our small dog!). The proximity to the beach was as advertised so I would highly recommend the house. Everything that was promised was delivered!

Definitely Recommend Staying
My family and I stayed in February 2022. Checkin was easy and the house was very clean. Only a short walk to the beach. Our fur babies loved it. Hope to rent this place again.

Perfect distance to the beach. Crow’s nest was a plus for views of the ocean.
No problems at all. We had a storm come thru that knocked out one outlet in the kitchen for the microwave. Other than that no problem with anything else at the house. Management was easy to work with. Sheets smelled so fresh and were really soft. Overall it was a great experience and we will probably stay again!!

We love watching the sunrise and for the first couple of days it was nice to make coffee and be able to climb up to the crow’s nest for a beautiful view of the ocean. The new wooden fence for the small yard was a nice addition to the cottage. It felt more secure and protective than the old chain link fence that was there last time. Our dog enjoyed resting on the front porch and watching all the activity along the sidewalk and road. We hope to stay there again in the future. Nice place.

Location is perfect and is a very quiet at this time of year. Everything we needed was available to us. Property was older than it looked in the pictures-But it was close to the Water about 50 Yards away. We where told to not come early so we got there at 4pm on Friday-The owner was supposed to call to say we could go in-BUT we recieved no call-So I tryed the Code for the door-It opened-we made our way in and of course after a long drive from the airport we had to use the bathroom-My wife yelled from the bathroom -NO TOILET PAPER-Then My daughter yelled from the other bathroom-NO TOILET PAPER-well to our surprise there was NO TOILET PAPER ANYWHERE IN THE HOUSE-SO we used napkins from the fast food store-we walked to the beach and my daughter decided to get her feet wet -so did my son-so did my wife-no problem until we walked back to the house and we quickly realized the house had NO TOWELS ANYWHERE-so we figured that the cleaning crew must have forgot to supply the toilet paper and Towels -It was getting later so we decided to stop at a store on our way to dinner and pick up toilet paper and towels-after dinner we went back to HOUSE and got ready for bed-TO our surprise The beds HAD Blankets but NO Sheets-I Know what your Thinking " this is a PRANK--But NO- this house had no sheets-well by now its 10pm-I was fed up I called the 24 hr Maintenace person-He said its not his job to bring towels and toilet paper -I should call the owner Ronni Moldovan-called her she said the items im missing should be in a bag on the Dresser-I said we looked everywhere -No sheets no Toilet paper no bath soap no dish soap . She said-DID you order the 'AMENITY PACKAGE" I said I was not sure what such a PACKAGE is.WEll she said its written in the lease to rent the place--Well I said there are lots of things in the lease-it mentions a POOL-theres NO POOL-it mentions a HOTUB-There NO hot tub--it mentions a lot of thing that are not in this unit-I certianly in my wildest dreams didnt think an 'AMENITY PACKAGE ' INCLUDED TOILET PAPER AND SHEETS AND TOWLES AND SOAP-well I was wrong and owner Ronni Moldovan-said this PACKAGE costs $150 BUCKS-and if i wanted it I had to pay and then WAIT UNTIL sometime the next day to get it. But couldnt tell-me when!! I own beach front property in Florida-If I charged EXTRA for Basic needs I would be laughed off VRBO and i should be-this is the worst thing I Have ever heard of-this is so bad and the way its mentioned is very cheap and sleazy-Please dont rent from these folks until they stop this STOP THIS NOW-Its not GOOD business Not GOOD

The trip was fun! Easy access to the beach and the cottage is just as described. Enjoyed our evenings on the porch, within walking distance to the pier and other family members. Can’t wait to go back!

The well-stocked kitchen made preparing most of our meals a breeze. With two little ones the washer and dryer were key! The only thing that could be improved upon would be the mattresses. Our old backs found them a bit too soft. Would stay again!

Fabulous Vacation!!
We had a wonderful, wonderful time at this property! It was the perfect 'beach house'! The location was great, the several places to relax within the house was great and just an overall excellent experience. Beach access was perfect as well. Simple and beachy. We will go back another time!

The short walk to the beach was easy and the location put us close to the things we wanted to do. Ronnie was great and called us early to let us know the house was ready. Weather wasn’t great but no fault of anyone and we made the best of it as we bundled up to sit on the beach. Had a great time!

Outer Banks Visit - Spring Break 2021
This beach cottage worked out well for our group and our trip. We were grandparents running off with our two teenage grandchildren. The kids (boy 15 and girl 16) commandeered the two lower level bedrooms as their own. The lower level bathroom worked great for them.
The upper level, with its' on suite bathroom, worked out perfect for we old folks.......allowed us to avoid the stairs, but for venturing out to explore OBX. As the weather was a bit cool (early March), especially with the usual breeze, we did not need to be right on the beach. A short walk past three neighboring cottages got us there quickly to scope it out. If weather would permit it, getting on and off the beach would be a "breeze" :-).
Overall, this rental unit worked out perfectly for our group and our trip.
