Whether you're traveling in summer or winter, this four bedrooms and two and a half bathroom that sleeps eight is a rare find and meets the mark on all things alpine. Situated on a quiet cul-de-sac, backed up to Bear Creek, this secluded three-level A-frame offers an open floor plan for the living, dining, and kitchen area. Start your morning on the sprawling deck, gazing out at forest service land will provide you with a tranquil place to start your day. If you are looking to get out and explore, you are a short walk from the Five Lakes trailhead and just one mile from Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. In the evenings fire up the woodstove, and enjoy gathering in the first-floor great room. The tranquility, charm, and unique style certainly make for a great Tahoe getaway location. The expansive floor to ceiling windows, its long farm-style dining table, wood stove, spiral iron staircase, and vintage craftsmanship evoke the feel of a Tyrolean lodge. What it lacks in a dishwasher, it certainly makes up for in tranquility and charm. Before you book Alpine Meadows Cabin in the Woods, be sure to pack your slippers. We're plenty stocked with firewood and coffee cups. The mountaineer shuttle will pick you up at this location and drop you off at Alpine Meadows during ski season. Property Notes * We provide a starting supply of toilet paper, paper towel, and laundry detergent, but recommend bringing extra for longer stays. * We do not provide shampoo / conditioner / or body wash although there could be some left from previous guests. * We recommend 4 x 4, AWD, or carrying snow chains in the winter months. * There is no air conditioning in this rental. * There are spiral stairs to the 2nd and 3rd levels of the home which may not be appropriate for smaller children or elderly. * We do not guarantee firewood and suggest purchasing a bundle at a local market. Cozy a frame cabin suited our needs perfectly. Super close to Five Lakes trailhead, very pretty hike. Lots of dry firewood and kindling available.

The whole group loved staying at this fun A Frame house. The staircase to the top floor was a fun way to get to bed. The house was stocked with everything we needed and the creek near by was a nice backdrop to listen to. Can't wait to come back.

We stayed at this property in February 2023 - two families with four adults and four teens. We had no issues checking in but the path to the house was completely iced over when we arrived, creating a major slipping hazard for us getting our luggage and gear into the house. We would have appreciated if the path had been cleared in advance. The house itself was fine - functional but quite dated. The kitchen and laundry area could use an upgrade - the appliances and cabinets are old and worn out. The living and dining area are spacious and have some interesting antiques. Probably the best part of the house. The bedrooms and bathrooms are quite small. We felt cramped in them. On the whole we were underwhelmed considering all the positive reviews.

The property is well situated. We went there for a bit of a snow experience with our family. Unfortunately our stay was cut short on account of an upcoming storm but we enjoyed a day of sledding in the backyard and some quiet time in this rustic A-frame.

We had a wonderful stay at this enchanted cabin in the woods. We spent thanksgiving weekend here and it really was the perfect backdrop to bring our family tougher. We Enjoyed making fire every night. The host provided little branches and dry wood to burn, which made it very easy to make fire from scratch. Overall it was a great experience: Warm, clean, cozy home.
Ps: the pillow in the downstairs bedroom is sent from heaven! It’s so soft and squishy, never slept so soundly 🤗🤗

Such a beautiful place, family friendly too! English is not my first language, I hope I can leave a useful review:) the house Cozi and comfie, I went there with my husband and 2 kids, really kids friendly too; bedd, super comfie beds, love them! And great view out side the window after snow in forest. We really love this place and will re-book again. And Rachel is really nice and helpful with all her paperwork and procedures, thank you:)

Excellent Ski Getaway
Nostalgic A-Frame in awesome neighborhood with close proximity to Alpine. Be sure to look out for Carl the Coyote as he patrols the backyard in the evening.

Our stay was excellent and we had everything we needed. The cabin is nice and cozy and the yard is great for kid snow play.

We keep coming back to this charming A Frame. My family loves the location and the set up is perfect for 2 families with kids. The Kings table in the family room bring us all together at the end of a long day on the slopes.

The house is really nice and it’s very very comfortable for 8 people. The kitchen has all the appliances needed and the bathrooms are good as well.

Overall good place for a short getaway
This cabin is beautiful and cozy, and great for a short stay! We loved the fire place and the floor to ceiling windows. It would have been a lot nicer if there were furniture out on the terrace so enjoy some meals out there. Some of the lights were also out and we had to search for light bulbs, the house could use some additional lights for sure. Thank you!

Beautiful Berry Cabin
Cabin was clean and supplies were available. Loved the closeness to the river and how we were under the beautiful pine trees. Thank you for the opportunity we were given to stay here.

A perfectly comfortable older cabin with many interesting antiques (but sadly with no information about them). The circular stairway was scary for parents of young children, but the kids didn't mind. Kids had fun inside and out. Very enjoyable for our three-generation family. We would recommend it to friends.

Loved it!
The view outside was breathtaking and there was even a mini hill to sled on! Also, the cabin is 10 minutes within 2 ski resorts, which was perfect. This property had everything we needed.

Incredible A Frame
We had a fantastic family ski weekend in this one of a kind A Frame home. Close to Alpine (our absolute favorite mountain) and with a backyard full of snow for sledding and snowball fights. Our daughters were in heaven and so was my husband with the wood burning stove and cabin- vibes. We will be back for sure.

This unique, cozy A-frame was perfect for our family. Very nostalgic and quaint. Views out of the 3 story glass A-frame were beautiful!

The house is great and clean, the deck was my favorite part. Beautiful view of the mountains and trees all around. Great location, 25 min from west shore and 20 min from Donner lake. Highly recommend.

Wonderful location and cabin
We had a fantastic time at the cabin over New Years. It has 4 bedrooms, so plenty of room for our kids and their friends. The wood stove works great to make the house toasty and warm.

Wasn't quite what was expected
The cabin now as very nice; however, with the cost of the rental and additional fees I expected the property to be clean and ready for us. The first night we arrived we had to wash all of the dishes prior to having dinner. One of the main selling features if the property was the back deck. In the pictures the deck looked like a cool place to hang out. In reality it was not. The patio was filthy, part of the railing was broken, and we had to locate and wash the patio chairs. Other than the cleanliness and the back deck we enjoyed staying at the cabin. Due to the extra cost, cleaning deposit etc.. I'm not sure I will consider booking through VRBO in the future. Hey pay an expensive non-refundable cleaning deposit when you have to clean the property yourself. Or maybe the property manager should find a new cleaning person.

Wonderful cabin for SVAM ski weekend
We stayed in this lovely cabin with friends for a long, ski weekend and really enjoyed the accommodations. It was the perfect blend of quaint with some current, and its proximity to the Alpine Meadows base area and Squaw Valley was great. The cabin has a great layout and is well outfitted for sleeping and cooking.

Perfect winter wonderland
This cabin has a special magic. The setting is sublime, and the home itself is cozy and perfect for a large group. Although there is no dishwasher, the kitchen is equipped for all cooking needs, The mud room at the front makes recreation "in and out" a breeze. We definitely hope to return!
