Charming Waterfront Cottage-NO CLEANING FEE-Water, Mountain & Sunset View
About this cottage rental
Nestled in Camano Island, this lovely cottage for £199 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Located on Holmes Harbor just 12 miles from the Mukilteo/Clinton ferry, this well appointed and charming cottage is comfortable for short or long stays and features beautiful views, a cozy wood burning fireplace, hammock for enjoying the view and napping, easy to use gas firepit on the deck, and it's own private sandy beach for walking, sunning or swimming, small orchard and peaceful woods. Reliable, high speed internet with WiFi is included. The cottage is perfect for those who want to vacation while working remotely and need a change of scenery getaway, where they can continue to work virtually, while being surrounded by beautiful views and natures refreshing peace and quiet. The compact kitchen, although small, has a full size refrigerator with freezer and all cooking implements, pots and pans etc., needed to prepare meals. The kitchen is outfitted with an induction cooktop built into the counter, Keurig coffee maker with K-Cup pods included, electric skillet, waffle iron and large toaster oven. During the colder months the old fashioned wood burning cook stove can be used for cooking and makes the cottage really cozy warm, so best only used during winter. In addition there is an outdoor Weber charcoal grill available for BBQ and Roasting any time of the year. Upon arrival, drive down the wooded lane past the serene pond and lush orchard populated by our friendly geese. Enjoy the sweeping water and mountain views from inside and outside from the full length deck. A privacy fence and "scenic view point" Gazebo for guest use occupy the undeveloped lot between the cottage and the owners home. Use the stairs just steps from the expansive and newly rebuilt deck with easy to use gas firepit and just the other side of the Gazebo, to access the beach. One of the highlights of the cottage is the spectacular view from the cozy window seat or comfy queen size bed. The huge picture windows look directly out to the mountains, water, sunset and the bright stars at night. A sun shade on the outside of the bedroom picture window can be pulled down for privacy and for shade to block the hot sun in the afternoons or tone down the morning light if you want to sleep in. Bring your own smart device for streaming content to the large screen TV in the bedroom via HDMI cable or Google Chromecast once you've logged into the cottage high speed internet WiFi. There's also a DVD and VHS player attached to the TV with a nice selection of movies provided. The private sandy beach is very walk-able except during the highest tides. There is a large deck with picnic table and benches for sitting and laying out on when the tide is in. Our little shallow and sandy cove is also great for a refreshing swim on hot evenings, so bring your suits! Langley, "The Village by the Sea", the entertainment center of South Whidbey is a quick 10 minute drive or the perfect scenic bike ride away! My wife and I loved everthing about this cottage. The views, the privacy, and all the cozy places to relax or snuggle up and read a book. Loved cooking our meals in the cottage, and especially on the wood cook stove. The owner put a lot of sweet details into the cottage; fresh flowers, chocolates, wood for the fire, etc.We did go out and adventure around the towns but truly felt like we should have spent all our time in the cottage. All in all, this was one of the most enjoyable places we have vacationed to, and will recommend it to everyone we know.

Great little house comfortable for 2. Beautiful scenic setting and very cozy. Nice view of the water. Very clean and everything we needed for a short stay. Only negative was the well water - can smell strange.

The photos don’t do justice of this adorable, quaint, and cozy cottage! It was breathtaking in the summer and we would love to come out and cozy up again in the fall/winter! The hostess was so friendly and inviting! We can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely wonderful in all aspects. It was my husbands 71st birthday. We watched whales eat right from our deck for an hour. I have not got one thing negative to say about this property, the owner or the process. It is our new haven to return to!!
Thank you

The makings of a cozy hideaway but missed the mark. No curtains on the big open windows. Lovely during the day but really needed at night for privacy. Fireplace and wood cooking stove but not a stitch of wood. Kitchen area was quite the challenge to cook in. Just a little bit of effort on the owners part and it would have made a huge difference to our stay.

This rustic and charming cottage is a good place to unwind. The deck with its view and quiet setting was where we spent most of our time. The gas fire pit kept us outside after dark. The furniture and bed were comfortable and the window seat was a great place to stretch out with a book. The kitchen is very minimal so don't plan on doing any cooking. That might be a plus if you just want to relax and eat out.

Great Getaway
We had a lovely time at this cottage. The tides were quite high so we didn't go to the beach. Be aware that there is no microwave---but there is a one burner stove and electric oven. There is also a wood burning stove. The owner was very helpful. We will definitely stay there again

We were looking for a place to stay for just 2 of us on the island of Whidbey. We found this place and we’re blown away with the reviews and pics. The well water did smell for your showers and to brush your teeth, but other than that, everything else was perfect. We have experienced well water before at other cabins and knew what to expect. The location had an awesome view of the bay with great view of the mountains and sunsets. From the standpoint of the island, we couldn’t have asked for a better spot to start our daily excursions. We visited most of the state parks on the island. Are at a ton of the restaurants in Freeland and Langley. 10 out of 10! Thanks Kimberly!!!.

Spectacular garden setting right on the water
This place is even more beautiful than the pictures show. There are flowers everywhere, and we were lucky enough to have them all in full bloom during our stay. What a magical place... even had hummingbirds and eagles.

Summer work get away.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. This is the perfect location on Whidbey; close to Langley, Freeland and Coupeville. Great hiking and outdoor activities, but nothing beats the view from the cottage. Spent a lot of time sitting on the back deck looking at the Cascade Mountains and the sound. Also spent time walking on the beach at low tide. If you are coming for a visit to Whidbey, I would highly recommend the cottage. I stayed for 3 weeks and worked while I was here. They have good Wifi.

Free-land WA is a awesome location
1940s era cabin on side lot of owners property , with great bones @ views , and owner/manager super friendly its Reminiscent of 1970s era trips I took as a kid . A tankless water heater @ filtration system would take it to the next level if “well water” sitting in hot water tank is part of the issue mentioned in other posts , as we did not enjoy funk from running the water so no showers for wife as she said i had funk after my first try ! also as cool as the vintage wood cooking stove is , something more useable would help too ! otherwise your driving for most meals , lastly a comfortable bed in good condition for two adults, I had to sleep in the window bed since bed was sunken in the middle so only a few hrs of sleep for me ! This place has the potential to the moon and back with small upgrades !

Rustic and Cozy
This cabin had great views, secluded, and comfortable. My husband and I are spoiled by our sleep number bed, so the bed wasn't good for us. Would like to had a microwave, but, just a lovely, relaxing location.

A scenic and peaceful retreat
I’d planned to spend more time exploring parks, beaches and other sites, but I couldn’t pull myself away from the window seat! Read three books, cooked, enjoyed having a fire in the fireplace on the brisk May mornings and evenings, and watching the weather change from the deck overlooking the harbor. Kimberly was a gracious host, quick to respond, right next door but considerately unintrusive. She even clued me in to look for fresh salmon at the Freeland Payless (thanks).
Enjoyed the privacy and quiet of the setting and the nearby conveniences. Freeland is a quick drive away for picking up groceries and firewood (and a hardware store). Langley is a relatively short and very leisurely drive if you want to visit the shops, restaurants, and wonderful Star Store. Whidbey Island Winery not too far from there. Highly recommend it.
The cabin is just big enough for singles and couples to settle in without tripping over each other. Kitchen has all you need for basic meal prep and dining, including instructions for cooking with the toaster oven and induction cooktop. Tea candles are plentiful and a nice touch at night. If you have a favorite Kuerig coffee flavor, you might bring some pods, but there are coffee and tea pods provided. French press coffeemaker does a good job, too, and lots of good roast coffees available in the island shops. Big filtered water jug-dispenser provided. Shower is okay-size and water pressure. Good towels. Septic, so be aware of restrictions involved.
Just a really cozy place to be, overall. If you’re looking for a place to settle in for a long weekend — or an extended stay, you’ll feel at home in this woodland cabin on the water.
