About this house rental
Nearly 1600 sq ft of open living space, including 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Master bedroom complete with a queen size bed, dresser, night stands with reading lamps, tv and master bathroom. Second bedroom furnished with a queen size bed, night stands and an armoire. Third bedroom features a set of twin beds, night stand and dresser. Front living room appointed with sectional sofa, recliner, chair and ottoman along with television and a large bookshelf (grab a book/leave a book). Rear living room features a pull out sectional sofa bed, television, game/puzzle table. Check the hall closet for games, cards and puzzles. Open kitchen/dining is perfect for entertaining. Glass cook top stove, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, blender, lobster pot and loads of pampered chef tools. Kitchen table seats 8. Hardwood floors throughout with ceramic tile in bathrooms. Laundry room with full size washer and dryer. Ceiling fans in every room. After a day at the beach, hang your suit an towel on the clothesline and enjoy the outside shower. Patio is equipped with a gas grill, sofa, tables and chairs to accommodate upwards of 14 people. Back yard is fully fenced in with a fire pit. Home furnished with linens, bath towels, beach towels, iron and ironing board. We also have beach chairs, umbrellas, and bicycles for your use. Hawks Nest Beach is a family friendly beach community. Grab a bike from the garage, pick out a backpack beach chair and you are on the beach in 5 minutes. During the summer season, take the kids for a bike ride over to Sound View, ride the carousel (hope you get the brass ring), treat yourself to some ice cream or Vecchitto's Italian Ice. If you are not into the little kid stuff, Kokomo's or the Pavilion can provide a fun night! Plenty of things to do within a short drive, Mystic Aquarium or Seaport, Mohegan Sun Casino, Goodspeed Opera House, Essex Steam Train, Westbrook and Clinton Outlet Malls, Golf courses, Kayaking, Fishing...

Great place to stay!! Exceptionally clean, very well stocked kitchen, linens, towels, games, beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers!
All we needed to bring was food and clothes!
Owner was very responsive to questions and very helpful with ideas where to eat and what to do.
Will stay here again if we decide to go back to Connecticut!!

We could not have selected a better property then this one! The home had everything we could possibly need for a fantastic beach get away. We would highly recommend this home for a great beach vacation.

We had a wonderful week at Hawks Nest Beach. This lovely home provided everything anyone could need and more including an array of bicycles to ride around the neighborhood and get us quickly to the beach. The kitchen is well stocked. The owners were pleasant and very responsive. The welcome basket was an unexpected and appreciated surprise; enjoyed by all.

Meg's house was perfect for our family week at the beach.... clean, comfortable and well-stocked. There were multiple bikes and beach chairs to choose from, plenty of bath and beach towels, and a large selection of kitchen supplies. The floor layout and comfy furniture suited everyone's needs.

Wonderful property! As described- well stocked and very comfortable- from beds to layout. Beach chairs and cart made the short walk to the beach even more convenient. Quiet neighborhood and great location central to lots of attractions and conveniences. Would recommend!

A wonderful rental! This property had everything you would need as advertised. Short walk to beach and nice patio area. We were greeted with a nice welcome basket and nice note from owner. Would return to the home away from home!!

We had a wonderful stay at Meg and Jason's home away from home! We felt welcome from the moment we walked in. Key pad entry was great as we didn't need to keep track and/or worry about losing a key. The house easily accommodated four adult and three children, with plenty of room to spare. Everything was clean and fresh, from the brightly colored walls to the linens and upholstery. The house's location allowed us to take a short walk to the beach, but there was a variety of bikes in every size and skill level, including a few with training wheels as an option. The fenced yard was ideal for small children and had ample seating and umbrellas for quests. We enjoyed the fire pit as well as the variety of sporting equipment available in the garage. The outdoor shower, in close proximity to the clothes line, was perfect for cleaning up after a day at the beach. We chose a dinner location from the suggested restaurants and really enjoyed it. We also enjoyed a few tasty treats from their vegetable garden. The toys, games, puzzles, barbie dolls and video games were a big hit with the kids, and having multiple TVs with a variety of streaming programs provided something for everyone. The kitchen had every appliance, utensil and dish you could possibly need , nothing was missing! Having cleaning supplies / equipment readily available was very helpful too. Meg and Jason really thought of everything when it comes to a beach rental. We felt comfortable , safe and welcome the entire week, and we hope to stay again.

This is a very nice home. There are two living rooms, with tv’s in both. Traveling with children this was very convenient. The house was very clean with everything you need (dishes, pans etc). It is a bit of a walk to the beach so we ended up driving people to the beach with chairs etc. and having one person drive back and take a bicycle back. The property owner was in contact with us and answers all of our questions promptly. She is very pleasant. Including having us help ourselves to the little garden.

This was our second time staying at this beach house. The rental process and check-in is seamless--love the new, easy to use lock. Everything you need for a short or extended stay is here--hair dryers, loads of towels, every kitchen implement imaginable, and even bikes for the entire family! I am sure we will be back again soon.

We needed a place to stay to support our son's family who relocated to the area This place was perfect and we couldn't beat the off-season rates. The owner was very responsive and did everything to make our stay comfortable.

Amazing house for a beach trip
Everything from the beginning to end of stay was great: the communication prior to the trip was fast and easy, my questions answered. We were able to check in a little earlier due to our schedule. The beach is walking distance, but it’s even faster with provided bikes (many choices!). Chairs , towels and passes are all provided. The backyard/patio area is equipped with anything you might need from morning and evening. There is a bottle shop and convenience store very close and niantic and old Lyme is a short distance away. We’ll be back next year!!

This house was clean and a good size for our family of four. The host, Meg, was friendly and responded quickly to questions. It was so lovely to find a basket full of treats upon our arrival. The living rooms are comfortable, and the kids loved all the toys and games available. It was also great that there were bikes available for the kids to ride. The backyard is spacious but there's no privacy from neighbors on all sides. We were disappointed that the house did not have several basic necessities -- paper towels, olive oil, sugar, coffee beans. There were other minor inconveniences, such as the master shower having no light (it's a tiny space where you have to shower in the dark) -- this caused our whole family to share the one other bathroom. The bath towels were old and scratchy. None of this is really a big deal, but it made me feel that the value did not align with the price we paid; these are little things where it's nice to feel luxury / extra comfort when you're on a vacation. The house is a half mile from the beach. Make note -- you have to walk over lots of rocks and shells when getting in the water (ouch!) which is especially challenging for small kiddos (or grownups with sensitive feet!) so maybe bring water shoes. We spent a wonderful day at Mystic Seaport, and the kids also enjoyed the carousel at Seaview. We also got some delicious fresh corn, strawberries, and pie at Holland Farms nearby.

I would stay here again if the opportunity arises. 10 minute walk to the beach, though bikes are available if you’d prefer.

Colorful and comfortable
Great location with ample room for 8. The multiple bikes available for use were an added bonus and made for a quick ride to the beach. The house was comfortable and clean.

Grocery stores are a 15 minute drive from the house. There is a mini mart fairly close to the house for quick shopping. Neighbors are friendly and neighborhood is quiet.

Nice clean ranch house, about a ten minute walk to the beach.
Hosts really keep it clean. Almost hard to believe how clean the place is!
No grime anywhere!
Responsive and came by to maintain the lawn while we were there, which was nice. (No mowing on vacation!)

Family Beach Vacation
We stayed at this cozy little beach cottage during the 2020 pandemic staying super hopeful that we could even go after everything going on and I was so thankful that we were able to!!!
The house was Immaculate to say the very least, we were welcomed with the basket full of goodies and a note from Meg and her husband. Meg left a binder full of all amenities, close restaurants, close attractions , anything important that we needed to know about the house etc! She was available 24/7 with questions or concerns! Her neighbor Gail was a doll, we were honored with her presence here and there during the week!
House is fully stocked which is so convenient with kids, we truly did not need to bring anything! From bikes (beach is a short distance from house) to beach chairs, to board games) to cookware, extra towels and blankets! Back patio was perfect for entertaining!
We really enjoyed our family vacation and will certainly book again!

Family Getaway
Our family of 5 loved spending time here while visiting family in the area. The house was very clean and the beds were super comfortable! A short bike(provided if you chose not to bring your own) ride to the beach along with plenty of beach chairs and towels help make your stay relaxing. The house was equipped with plenty of spices and cookware. Plenty of fun games and an old school Nintendo/Atari that we had so much fun with! There are tennis courts in the neighborhood which my twins loved using. We loved the outdoor ladder golf. Meg was always responsive and just a phone away. The house is as advertised and won’t disappoint.

Home away from home
We had the pleasure of renting this lovely home in Old Lyme. Meg was a pleasure to work with before and during our rental. Our kids, 5 and 7, loved their bedroom, the two separate living spaces, and mostly the enclosed backyard. It’s not a big home but is well spaced and nicely decorated. We saw all types of birds from the patio in the backyard and explored the beach and surrounding areas on the bikes from the house. We couldn’t have asked for a better home away from home.

Great beach house
Great find! This home is a real gem, clean, comfortable and a very well equipped kitchen which made cooking easy. I loved having two living/family rooms so plenty of room to spread out although there was only 3 of us. It’s an easy 10 min walk to the beach and there are plenty of bikes, chairs, etc for guests to use. We will be back!
