If you came to Iceland to get away from it all, Eyrarbakki has the perfect balance. Our property is located in a small village on the seaside, close to Reykjavík and the Golden Circle, but a world away. In the property are 16 guest apartments: 8 Deluxe Apartments with private decks, offering glimpses of the ocean, 8 Standard Apartments (no view, but recently renovated and comfortable inside) and our 36-bed hostel. You will stay just steps from the ocean, next door to a small shop and walking distance to one of the best restaurants in Iceland. This Deluxe One-Bedroom apartment has a bedroom with a King size or two single beds, a spacious living room with dining area, sitting area with TV, and extra sleeping spaces with a sofa bed. There is a kitchen in the apartment. In the property are 16 guest apartments: 8 Deluxe Apartments with private decks, offering glimpses of the ocean, 8 Standard Apartments (no view, but recently renovated and comfortable inside) and our 36-bed hostel. This apartment had everything we needed. The location on the south coast of Iceland was great: convenient to Reykjavik and also the sights in southern Iceland. It was quiet, clean, and overall a great place.

Quaint town! Right next to Water!
We loved our stay here. The place was comfortable, spacious, and clean. We had plenty of room to spread out and we enjoyed being able to make dinner in the well-appointed kitchen. The owner was extremely friendly and knowledgeable- he recommended two hikes/walks and told us about the area. Very relaxing and beautiful! Highly recommend!

Top Unterkunft in perfekter Lage
Tolle Unterkunft in perfekter Lage direkt am Meer. Ideal als Ausgangspunkt für den Golden Circle.
Wir sind mit Baby angereist und uns wurde extra ein Babybett zur Verfügung gestellt. Sehr kinderfreundliche Unterkunft und alles vorhanden was benötigt wird für eine tolle Zeit auf Island.

While in Iceland, our family stayed in 4 different hotels/guest houses. My daughters (9 and 12) said this was their favorite. The kitchen was very well equipped. The apartment was spacious yet cozy. At one point we had a fuse go out and cut the power to our entire apartment, but the host's response was immediate and friendly even though the time was late and it was the 2nd day of Christmas.
Check-in and check-out were a cinch. The location is lovely, right on the coast. There is a little mini market right next door with every thing you might need. 5 stars

Family road-trip in Iceland

The hotel was perfect, I highly recommend Eyrabakki for the perfect Icelandic vacation. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay there as well as all amenities that the place offered us. The place was easy to find. The owner provided easy check in instructions. The place is very clean, comfortable and quiet. You are right by the ocean! Just walk a few steps from your own deck. It was too cold and rainy for us to enjoy. After a day of sight seeing, we snuggled up inside to watch plenty of programs on TV!! We went into town for groceries, which was a short drive. Nice kitchen with a small fridge. We used the toaster and microwave. Plenty of dishes to use. There was tea and coffee available. I would highly recommend if you are in the area and need a nice place to sleep and relax. We stayed 2 nights and it is well worth the price. We ate in town for dinner one night and would recommend Kaffi Krus. Small quaint house with 2 stories. We got the fish and chips which was excellent and the Favorite pizza. We had extra pizza which we heated the next morning.The shower was nice and temperature warm. We did not have any issues at all. Thanks for such a nice place to stay during our first 2 nights in Iceland!!

Wonderful 3 Days in Apartment in Eyrarbakki
Definitions recommend staying here!!!! The apartment was incredibly clean, lovely to sit on the deck for any reason (even outdoor chair cushions were waiting on top of fridge!!!!) and had all the supplies, like dishes, glasses, towels you would ever need!!! Jessi made sure prior to arrival we could have any assistance needed. Several good restaurants nearby and in Selfoss; grocery in nearby Selfoss made eating in very easy also. Close to Thingvelir, Gulfoss, Blue Lagoon. Great walking path along ocean. The owner has placed their own most incredible photos from all over Iceland in the unit and they are truly spectacular...no need to watch TV with those photos inside and the ocean out your deck!!!

Very nice place but kind of out of the way
We liked the place. It was comfortable and quiet. Right on the ocean. Convenience store right there and two restaurants nearby. The bed was incredibly hard so we did have a little trouble sleeping.

Lovely and comfortable
Eyrarbakki was a great starting point for touring the Southwestern part of Iceland. The apartment was great and well stocked. We loved the photographs. Everyone was very helpful.

Great 1 bed apartment - ideal for a few days for me, my husband and our two kids (10 and 9). We had noisy neighbours for one night which was a bit unfortunate but definitely no reflection on the accommodation and would recommend to anyone visiting Iceland

Tolle Lage, sehr sauber, wunderschöne warme und kuschelige Wohnung
Wir waren im Winter da und haben es unglaublich genossen, in die warme Wohnung zurück zu kommen. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber. Es gab kein einziges Insekt. Der Service ist freundlich und unkompliziert. Der Ort Eyrarbakki ist schön ruhig und optimal für Ausflüge zu vielen Highlights Islands geeignet. Wir kommen gerne wieder her.
