Nestled in Oakland, this lovely condo for £146 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. We have a charming, family friendly, 2 bedroom 1ba apartment near the Grand Lake theater and Lake Merrit. The apartment is located in a Craftsman era home, near Lakeshore and Grand Ave in Oakland, which are two very popular avenues with lots to offer. The living room is bright and spacious and includes a new queen size sleeper sofa and flat screen ROKU TV, Wi Fi is also included. There is also a full size dining table in this room. The first bedroom has a queen size bed that is very comfortable. There is also a vanity, dresser and full closet. We have a toddler mattress, Graco Pack n Play, baby bouncer seat, and large wooden activity cube/toy for small children stored in this closet for your use, if you happen to be traveling with kids. The second bedroom has a futon with a queen size mattress, that can be used as an extra seating area or it may be converted to a bed. This room also has built in closets with ample storage and extra bedding. Also, there are some games in the closets, available to use. The bathroom was recently renovated and has a shower over tub. It's clean and nicely appointed. The eat in kitchen is set with a small table for 2, that also has a leaf to expand out to seat 4. The kitchen is fully equipped with all your basic cooking tools and utensils. It has a full refrigerator and freezer, full oven with stovetop, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. Our neighborhood has a great sense of community and is very walkable, with many restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops all within a few minutes. We have a Trader Joe s market and Safeway grocery store within walking distance. And every Saturday you can walk a few blocks to the Grand Lake Farmers Market, which is the best market in the area, hands down! There, you will find organic produce, a variety of foods and entertainment. It is also a quick 15 minutes to downtown San Francisco and only 10 minutes to historic Jack London Square in Oakland, by car. The AC Transit buses run to the Ferry Terminals at Jack London or to BART, so it is easy to get around with or without a car.

So many good things to say about this wonderful abode. I stayed on the main floor (two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen, living room...all very spacious with high ceilings). The moment I walked into this house, I felt at home (reminded me of my 1920 house in Seattle...in fact, this house was built in 1922 and has the same hardwood floors as my home. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen has everything: glasses, cups, bowls, pans, microwave, gas stove, refrigerator/freezer and cute little nook table. There are spices in the cupboards and the hosts stocked a bit of food for me in the refrigerator (nice touch). The bathroom had shampoo, soap and many towels and washcloths...no need to bring your own. There is an ironing board with a new iron. The house is VERY QUIET. I slept great each of the eleven nights I stayed. Plenty of pillows and bedding. The house is located only two and a half blocks away from the small, but bustling, Grand Avenue area where there are many restaurants. Also, a great bookstore (Walden Pond Books) on Grand, just a few minute walk from the house. I also spent a lot of time at The Grand Lake move theater...again, just a few minute walk from the house. The neighborhood is super cute and very walkable. There are a lot of nice houses in the area and I felt safe walking around at all times. The owner, Jennifer, was incredibly responsive to all of my messages. She was really on top of things, answering all of my questions within minutes. A+++++++++

Pros: The place was spacious and in a good location. Cons: everything seemed secondhand or worn, ants in the bathroom, no top sheets on the beds or any spare sheets in storage, and two windows had broken locks which I immediately alerted the owners about. They initially responded by asking for details but then stopped communicating with me for over an hour. I opened a case with VRBO customer service and then the owners came up with a solution but they didn’t even offer a discount for the inconvenience. Wouldn’t stay again.

Could not have asked for a better place for my friend and me, who were in Oakland to attend a wedding. We did not have a car, so the convenience of having lots of restaurants and a grocery store within easy walking distance was very much appreciated. It's also close to several bus lines including at least 2 that will take you to/from the MacArthur BART stop, for those using SFO. The single bathroom is easy for two non-coupled people to share because it is separate from the bedrooms. I would definitely stay here again, and my friend said he would move in if the owners would let him rent it! Since he lives in NY, that's just talk, but it says a lot about the place.

The house is clean and is in a great location. You can easily walk to coffee shops, stores and places to eat. Nice and safe area. Would totally recommend the house.

My family and I had a pleasant stay in this little home. Comfy and clean. Only hard parts were no hot pads and parking in a truck. Otherwise was great.

We had an enjoyable 4 night stay here. Listing as advertised, and had sleeping option and toys for our 2.5 year old. Also very walkable, which is great in general, but especially with a small child. Would stay again.

We had a great stay here with our 1 and 4 year olds. They loved playing with the toys in the house. The beds were comfortable. The place is very cozy and we loved being able to walk to restaurants, Trader Joe's, the lake, and Children's Fairyland. It was also an easy drive into San Francisco and to and from SFO airport. Great place and location! And the hosts were very accommodating and helpful too!

The accommodations were as they appeared on booking page. Easy to find your way around the kitchen and use of items in refrigerator, bottled water was in refrigerator so it was great to have a few bottles that first night. Very clean and a quiet neighborhood . Street parking was not too great & a narrow driveway to park in drive way. That first night the residence car was parked at an angle which made it a little difficult to park our car. They have the best fluffy bath towels, must say better than hotel towels. If you wish to watch TV , you need to have a streaming account for direct TV Now or something of that nature to get movies to watch. Overall , I recommend this location. Thanks to the host who had a great list of restaurants and sightseeing locations to go to. Oh, restaurants close @9 pm. We were fortunate to find a Chinese restaurant that was open late on Grand Ave. Acosta from Grand theater. We enjoyed the food and they had a huge takeaway while there eating, traffic was heavy with people picking up as well as another day we did takeaway. The host was accommodating and I have the greatest respect for making sure we had a fantastic stay. Our family had no complaints so it was a great time in Oakland, we were not far from where we travel to events we went to.

Lovely apartment, very spacious. Easy walk to bart to get into San Francisco and some nice places to eat just down the road including the amazing Arizmendi bakery. Owners were very prompt and helpful communication wise. If you're planning to park on the drive I would recommend an SUV for the ground clearance but otherwise we parked with no issues.

The right place for a family trip. We visited Oakland, San Francisco and Sausalito from there. It was easy to walk to Oakland and to drive to other places. There are plenty of stores and restaurant nearby. The information provided upon our arrival was also very good. The house had all needed and in good condition. The parking slot can be a bit challenging for a good car. However, our stay was very pleasant. Moreover, the availability and communication of the host were excellent. Thank you,
