Everything was perfect including the weather. Power went out right before we left so we couldn’t turn on dishwasher.

This rental stole my heart. I enjoyed staring at the beautiful ocean colors from the spacious, extremely comfortable living room. The house is also right next to a cliff side trail that also had breathtaking views. Families of deer came to snack right outside the house!
The hot tub was really relaxing. The kitchen well-stocked. The bathrooms very spacious. I loved this house and hope to come back!
The property management company is amazing. So kind and patient, especially when I had a couple of false alarms.

We have stayed at close to a dozen different properties in Sea Ranch over the years, and this house is a clear favorite we will definitely be returning to.
The layout of the house was great for our group of friends, with the three bedrooms and two bathrooms (one in the primary bedroom, one shared for the other two) on the ground floor and the kitchen and living area on the second floor with views of the bluffs and ocean. The bedrooms were cool, dark, and quiet for restful sleep, and the open upstairs area was perfect for reading, playing board games, and cooking during our stay. The hot tub is sheltered in an enclosed patio, making it comfortable even on windy nights (of which there are many, at Sea Ranch!).
One note we made for future trips to this property that other renters might benefit from--while some essentials are provided, supplies at this property were more minimal than other homes we have experienced in the area. Next time, we will bring cooking oil, salt & pepper, paper towels, and extra dish towels/hot tub towels with us. (This home had no oil, pepper but no salt, a single roll of paper towels, two small dish towels, and only four hot tub towels while we had five people in our party.) We were able to pick up some things at the small market in Gualala, but our trip would have been even more perfect if we had known ahead of time to throw the additional few things into the car!

We were very impressed with this property. It was extremely clean, spacious and comfortable. The views of the ocean were breathtaking, we saw whales from the living room, and the surroundings were very quiet - a short walking distance to the Gualala Point Regional Park. The hot tub was clean and sheltered from coastal winds. The property managers were very responsive when we reported that we found a hole in a window frame. The key pickup system added 15 minutes to our route but it was easy and well organized. Only downside was the salt deposits on the windows, which limited visibility at sunset. Overall an amazing stay, we will be back!

Our first post-Covid trip
We liked the house so much we extended our stay by a day. Plenty of space to spread out. Nice views. A stone's throw to the trail on the bluff, with good walks in both directions. Would definitely consider renting again.

Amazing spot!
I loved the location of this house near the cliffs. Great kitchen and views. Sitting in the hot tub under the stars was beautiful. The only thing I wasn't aware of was that I couldn't have my mercedes sprinter van parked there and I ended up getting two warnings. If I had known I would have driven a different car.

The property and location were great. The windows and doors need screens. Too many little bugs flew into the house. Otherwise it was very nice.

The property itself is quite nice and is a wonderful location next to the coast trail and has lovely views. It was disappointing to see the dishwasher not working in a rental for which we were spending a lot of money, but that's not the reason for the low rating. The reason is because of our experience with the local property management company. We called the first evening when we realized the digital thermostat wasn't working. They told us someone would call us in the morning since nothing could be done that night. We got through the night but it was especially hard for the baby since it was so cold and we couldn't put any blankets in his crib (due to SIDS). We called again in the morning and they told us no one could come out until Day 3 which meant we needed to go through another day/night without heat. I asked if they could call another vendor given we had a baby, but they said nothing could be done and just dropped off space heaters. That works during the day when people are in the room, but space heaters are a safety hazard when unattended and can't be left on all night. Again we asked for a rush but they were unable to help. Meanwhile, my husband spent time on the phone with Honeywell (the manufacturer of the thermostat), reviewed some YouTube videos, and tried to fix the problem. He discovered an issue with the panel and safety switch on the furnace and luckily was able to fix it. He also provided a longer-term solution. It was frustrating that they weren't willing to do what was necessary to solve a key problem in the rental (i.e. heat). On the 3rd day the maintenance people came and did what my husband suggested. Since we had also notified them of a dead mouse in the garage, the representative of the property management company accompanied them and disposed of it. We didn't really care about the mouse -- after all you're emersed in nature. We were fine with the broken dishwasher, too, even though we spent a lot of vacation time doing dishes. Yet not doing everything possible to quickly fix the thermostat issue for a family that had a baby sleeping in the home was unacceptable.

VRBOBe forewarned; we booked the “La Costiera property” at Sea Ranch, CA. for 2 nights in late September. We now refer to it as the “Mouse House” because there were mouse droppings in all rooms of the house on both floors. The property manager known as “GRAND WELCOME” was of no help when attempting to reach them via their 888 number. The office was closed when my husband returned there but did find a housekeeping supervisor at that location, by the name of Robin D. who gave us her phone number, followed my husband back to the “Mouse House” and took a look. Fortunately for us, she had located two other vacant rentals to show us and we agreed to one of them.In order to keep this review short we omitted many details that all led to a nightmare of trip.

La Costiera has a great location at the end of a cul de sac at the north end of Sea Ranch and right above the bluff trail. Easy access to whale watching, the golf course and whole length of the bluff trail. We rented through a property management agency and found a lot of the instructions conflicting or out of date. Fortunately they were fairly responsive to our bigger issues. One of those issues was the rather bold mice. We found mice in the kitchen, the living room and the lower bedrooms. So, don't leave your food out. Another issue was the lack of screens on the windows and sliding doors. I think I counted three windows that had screens. All the others didn't have any. And it was warm while we were there, so we opened the windows anyway and found out about the insects, bees and, you guessed it, more mice. Once we got all that sorted out, however, we enjoyed our stay there.

Beautiful property
The house was beautiful and the views were amazing. As others mentioned, windows were pretty dirty so would have loved to have been able to have a clearer view of the ocean. Other than that we loved the property!

If you enjoy birding, this place is next to the Gualala point. And you can see whales, sea lions, etc.

A very lovely location in Sea Ranch, but this property could use a deep cleaning. Mouse droppings under the kitchen sink, and the interior of many of the kitchen drawers are dirty. Many surfaces, particularly the kitchen cabinets, were filthy. The lights above the kitchen sink did not work, the interior light in the refrigerator was burned out. The cloth placemats are unwashed. Food was found under the sofa pillows. Plus, two dining room chairs have broken legs. The window in the master bathroom is broken - it doesn't open and the frame and screen are filthy. The utility closet has a broom, but no dustpan. I have sent photos to the management company.

Loved our stay. Great location, ocean views, ocean sounds, walking path out the door, wildlife. Only suggestion is windows need screens, it was warm during our stay and could not leave windows open after dark.

Cold, but clean
The house definite has everything you’d need. It’s clean and well maintained. Great cliff walk access abs some decent views. (Wish you could see out the windows better.) However, the heating system is extremely inefficient. Given that all the bedrooms are downstairs you have to over heat the living room area in order to get even marginal heating in the bedrooms. It was a bit better after the first night though so it does warm up eventually. Overall, the upside down layout kind of takes away from the property, but it doesn’t ruin the experiences of Sea Ranch.

Love getting to take a trip to Sea Ranch. I have stayed at multiple properties and this one by far was the best so far. I will definitely check it’s availability for out next trip. Thank you!

Unbeatable location and views, great layout
Beautiful home. The best we’ve stayed at in Sea Ranch and this is our 5th trip. Three fully enclosed bedrooms with good soundproofing. 2.5 baths. Ocean views as sunsets from the living room, deck and kitchen are incredible. Right on the walking trail and near the Del Mar pool also. Minor gripe was lack of cooking staples like Olive Oil, and saw a few ants in the kitchen. But small price to pay for near-perfection.

Overall a lovely stay!
Beautiful location and views. Some of the screens were missing and the kitchen exhaust fan was broken and the main view windows in the living room were dirty and detracted from the beautiful ocean views. The Weber briquette grill was rusted but to their credit the management company replaced it and provide 2 bags of charcoal briquettes which we appreciated and put to use. Overall we loved the house and enjoyed our stay and only provide this feedback so it will hopefully be even better when we come back!

Amazing location, great layout and nicely decorated
We stayed at La Costiera for a little long weekend getaway and we loved the place! It was close to Gualala, had beautiful ocean views and was perfectly suited for my family of four plus one other couple. We loved the hot tub and sitting on the balcony for sunset. We'd love to stay here again!
