The resort is very far down on the other end so the beach is perfect as it is a lot cleaner and not so many people.

Loved the unobstructed ocean views! Floors need to be replaced and beds all squeak.

We go to Galveston almost every year from DFW and look for a newer rental, away from town, on the beach. This was great as it was the farthest from town and was the last rental on the island before your cross the bridge to the next island. Love the privacy and quietness! The morning and evening walks on the beach were felt like we were by ourselves.

Great view, quiet location, clean and comfortable. Beds comfortable. As others have mentioned some of the floors are a bit uneven or spongy. Don't let that stop you from staying here! It was wonderful!

First, let’s start with the great things about the unit. The view is incredible, since it’s the last building of the complex you have a completely unobstructed view of the ocean. It’s about 2 min by foot from the boardwalk to the beach and about 10min to the beach club and pool.
However, unfortunately the upkeep of the unit was quite disappointing. This was our first time booking through vacasa and we had way higher hopes. Once walking into the unit, my husband wanted to open the blinds and they fell completely on top of him while doing that. There are a bunch of scuff marks on the walls and the furniture, there are gaps in the threshold in hallway where we stubbed our toes and my toddler even ended up with a small cut in his foot. There were a few lightbulbs missing in lamps as well as no soap in either bathroom. The hair dryer in the bathroom wasn’t working, it only blew cold air. All the air vents look to have black mold on them. Moving on to the kitchen, the switch for the garbage disposal wasn’t working so we ended up with a backed up sink. And to top it off,the clothes dryer also was out of commission. However the most worrisome part was the the floors in the unit were super uneven, flexing when stepping on them and almost felt wavy, for the lack of a better word. It seemed like there had been water damage that was never addressed. I have attached pictures of most of the addressed items.
Pointe West is wonderful! This unit was unfortunately disappointing!

Property was great. Met our needs, clean, beach access, down on west beach so much less traffic, access to Pointe West Club and Pool (for a small fee) all good !

Great location. We had a range of ages. Everyone enjoyed the beach and the pool. Great view of the Gulf from the balcony. Very comfortable condo for 7 people.

The condo was spacious, in a well-maintained facility. Arrival was easy, no issues. The west end of Galveston is quieter, great for families and bird-watching.

Washer was broken the entire time. Was never repaired. Floor was bowed in multiple places and handle on toilet was broken as well as the blinds in dinning/living room areas. Was told that i would be refunded for days that washer was broken but still have not received it. Ran out of clothes halfway through trip.

Great location, 5 min walk or so from beach. Beaches are not crowded and WELL maintained.
Home was spacious, patio area was great. Easily can accommodate 8 people. On-site staff was great. Beach club was clean and nice layout. Vacasa was on point with making sure our needs were met.

After a long trip to Galveston, we tried our door code around 10pm and it did not work. Turns out our reservation had been canceled around 7pm.. check-in was at 4pm! I have no idea why this happened. Luckily the customer service is good and the woman who helped us quickly got a new condo. However the condo seemed like it hadn't been used for months and was sparse at best. Pictures taken off the walls, dead batteries in the thermostat, had to find a comforter for the bed. The condo we booked was smaller and nicer and we really wanted that one. Also, they provided cheap "vacasa" beach towels as bath towels that got lint all over you after drying off.
My parents' condo in another building was very nice, and in general the condo complex is great. I'm really unhappy that vacasa cancelled our condo last minute with no explanation and NO DISCOUNT!! I won't be using this service again unless I have to.

This home is located on the top floor of the last building of the complex and we continue to stay in this location because of the amazing views without obstruction!!

The condo looks to have been neglected by routine maintenance and upkeep. Broken light fixtures, disgusting air vents with obvious mold growth, layers of dust on wall decor, towels smelled of mildew, etc. Booking and check-in were a breeze but that doesn’t make up for poorly maintained unit. I won’t stay there again.

Good. It could use some better dishes. Just an informative note is that resort lists a lazy river but don’t get your hopes up, it’s not an actual lazy river.

Space was exactly as described. Very clean. Check-in/check-out was seamless. Will definitely be back.

Good view. Perfect stay!
Rooms were very clean one less worry there. Sun rise view was a big plus. Parking was easy. I would definitely use vacasa for my next rental also hopefully the same stay as well. Thanks to the host of this property.

The balcony has a beautiful view of the ocean and the bay, a rare find. The condo was clean. The condo needs some major TLC. The floor is uneven. The beds squeak a lot disrupting sleep. The appliances are on their kitchen legs. The fridge is missing a shelf and the oven a rack. The kitchen is stocked with low quality things and is bare bones. Several things are in need of repair. As warned in the description is the elevator was broken during our entire stay. Point West magment did not respond. Hauling our stuff up three sets of stairs was rough. Also the walk way to the beach has no ramp so you also have to haul your stuff up and down stairs.

The view was beautiful and there was a large sized porch overlooking the beach, but the place was run down (clouded window panes, leaking windows) and not cleaned well (mold in showers, trash/food under beds, dirty floors). It had the basics for cooking, but the kitchen gear was low quality or worn. We'll take our chances on a different unit next time.

We stay at Point West at least 3 to 4 times a year. It's a wonderful community on the west end of Galveston. The view of the sunset from this unit was the best we have ever seen! However, the interior needs some major renovations. It's the worst Interior we've experienced at Point West. First of all it reeks of water damage (you can smell the mold). The floors dip in the hallway significantly, you can almost trip. The kitchen has the most bare bones amenities in a condo I've ever stayed in. The Fridge does not have a water dispenser, so also...NO ICE! Not to mention usually Condos like this have basics, even if left behind by other guests in the past. We still had a nice time, as we always do there, but I don't know that I would want to stay in this unit again.

Great property - not so great communication.
Loved our trip! The only stressful part was check-out. The sign posted on the door in the unit said 11:00 am checkout, but I had remembered seeing 10:00 am somewhere else. So, I called the Vacasa number (it was in their text messages to me), and the woman I spoke with confirmed checkout was at 11:00 am. Well, 10:20 am rolls around and I get a snarky text about needing to vacate the unit immediately. So I texted back that we’re packing up, but the door sign AND the person I spoke with told me 11:00 am checkout. Let’s just say the following texts from the texter were rude and argumentative. I texted back that their communications errors were not my issue, and we’d be out by 11 am. I didn’t hear back, and the person deleted the text conversation. It really took away from the great weekend we’d had.

It was actually better than I thought. I only wished the lights on the balconies worked so that you’re able to get a view of the ocean. Maintenance was notified and because the order wasn’t completed we were given late check out at no cost.

First impression was that there was a bad odor as soon as we walked in and dirt/sand on the floor. The upstairs bunks were made up and sand was in the sheets. That was not discovered until my 12 year old went to sleep. Most bunks at rentals have clean sheets in plastic wrap to be made up by guest. The primary bedroom shower did not drain which led to a most unpleasant experience for the 2 grown ups. All of the pillows were awful as were most of the beds. The king and queen squeaked so much that the occupants woke each other up with every move. The kitchen didn't even have a cookie sheet , so fortunately I brought foil from home. I think there was maybe one butter knife and one normal size coffee mug. And what a disappointment to put a huge load of beach and bath towels in the dryer only to discover that it didn't dry them at all. I usually come home well rested from a stay at Pointe West, but not this time. I didn't expect perfection as I booked quite late for this popular rental season and had read some below average reviews regarding this property, but it was quite unacceptable.

I wish this place was a little closer to town , but other than That its a great place. I like the fact there is no road you have to cross to get to the beach also I like how secluded the property. Be aware that this is at the far west of the island It takes about 25 mins to get to town where everything is. Convenient store is about 15 mins away. We really enjoyed the view from the balcony.

We had a lovely weekend in Galveston! First the pros of this property: Location, location, location. If you want a beautiful view of both sunrise and sunset, this is your place. Being able to see the beach and the bay was a nice perk, and we enjoyed sitting on the balconies and watching the beach. The view of the beach includes a good portion of the vehicles-allowed side, so do keep that in mind if you're wanting a pristine beach view. And the beach is a decent walk from the house, so that's worth noting as well.
The condo itself was clean, but we did note that it was pretty sparse (likely due to COVID-19). We thankfully brought coffee with us, but minimal provisions would have been appreciated, particularly given the fact that the nearest grocery store was miles away. The kitchen implements could use some upgrades in the future, but all in all, we were satisfied with the kitchen.
Our main complaint was with the checkin process. We had called to modify our number of guests after receiving an invoice for wristbands for the resort area. We never received a call back, and received multiple invoices with the incorrect number of guests listed. A note to future guests: If you do plan to use the pool/resort area, it's worth noting that you'll be invoiced separately for this access. This was surprising to us given the fact that we felt this rental was already pretty costly.
The other con for us was the price. While this residence met our minimum expectations, for the price it did not EXCEED our expectations.
One other minor point of frustration for us was that the entry code was incredibly complex and therefore impossible to memorize during our stay. This meant that every time we returned to the condo, we had to pull our phone out to look up the code after 3 flights of stairs (while balancing all of our beach supplies and trying to keep an eye on our small child). Little details like this make your trip easier and more enjoyable, so we would ask the property management to consider this when setting property codes in the future!
