For the first time ever, we are happy to off the entire property at Casa de las Olas for your family/group holiday and vacation destination. The combination of the main House and The Casita, allows for 6 guests, with a total of 3 queen bedrooms; 3 full baths; 2 fully appointed kitchens; 2 televisions; 4 air conditioners; 2 well appointed private outdoor showers (hot water); an outside Rancho which includes a bar-b-q and dining area; and a private outdoor bathroom near an AMAZING rear yard and pool. In 2022 we undertook a major renovation project, which was building a backyard paradise that includes lush gardens, a pool, rancho/kitchenette, and private outdoor showers, and lounging spaces for all to enjoy. My wife and I had a glorious time staying at Rik and Susan's Casita. Every single part of the stay was perfect including the bed, outdoor living space and ease of walking to the beach or local markets/restaurants.
Rik and Susan are great host and as enjoyable as the space. Looking forward to coming back in 2025!

We had the best time in Tamarindo and especially at Rik and Susan’s home. Couldn’t have been more happy with the hospitality and the property itself. The pool and tropical backyard was the icing on the cake plus only a 3-5 min walk across the street to the breathtaking beach. We look forward to coming back ASAP!

Lovely studio that is very well appointed and has everything you need. Rik and Susan are easy to work with and have done a beautiful job taking care of the property. They have a wealth of information regarding Tamarindo and the surrounding area. The beach (Tamarindo) is very accessible and just a few steps away. We love that we are close to Tamarindo beach to hit the waves and Langosta beach (a short walk) to find seashells and the tide pools are fun to explore. We loved the restaurant next door. The pool area is very lush and beautiful. The pool was so nice to take a quick dip to cool off. It was a bit hot for us, but Rik and Susan can’t control the weather sadly (LOL). Also, the sun comes into the windows very early so bring an eye mask if you need it to be dark to sleep. We hope to return soon!

Perfect place to stay in Tamarindo. Just takes a couple of minutes to walk to the beautiful beach of Tamarindo and a short walk to town with all of the amazing restaurants and shops. Casa de Las Olas was amazing. The quiet pool side oasis in the back yard was incredible. Perfect place to hear and see Howler Monkeys and Iguanas. Thank you Rik and Susan for your hospitality.

We had a wonderful stay at Rik's property. The house is exactly as pictured. Less than a 5 minute walk to the water. We used all of the toys in the photo plus a SUP. Walter the caretaker answered the few questions we had and suggested a few places to visit. Highly recommend staying here.

Casa de Las Olas was the perfect place to take time out from our busy lives! I looked forward every morning to waking up early and sitting on the porch with my coffee to listen to the birds and the waves and to watch the monkeys scamper across the trees. The home is a very short walk away from a wide beautiful beach where you will see surfers surfing, people riding horses, families playing, and people walking their dogs. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance on the beach or on the road. The home itself has everything you need and was absolutely spotless. The best part of our stay however was the hospitality of our hosts, Rik and Susan. Rik and Susan answered any questions we had and gave suggestions about local places to see, places to eat and places to be. They were even able to point us in the direction of a wonderful healthcare provider when my husband needed one. Also, the grounds around the home are absolutely stunning with beautiful trees, plants, flowers and a little garden out front. It is obvious that they work very hard to maintain and continually improve their piece of paradise. Go and enjoy Casa de las Olas, you will not be disappointed! We will be returning!

Amazing House, Hosts and Location
We just returned from 3 weeks at Casa de las Olas and it was a wonderful stay. The house is clean, comfortable, roomy and well taken care of. It is just as it appears in the pictures. There is about any water toy you can imagine included along with bikes, chairs etc. The beach is less than a minute walk and it is easy to walk to the many wonderful restaurants in town. Rik and Susan were terrific hosts, always there for anything we needed and very informative. It is an ideal place to stay!

Probably the best choice in terms of price/quality ratio in the area.
Rik's house is comfortable, aircon in both bedrooms, new couch, great location. Walter the gardner is so nice, Rik the owner and William the manager are both easy to communicate.

Where Time Stands Still
Our stay at Casa de Las Olas exceeded our expectations in every way. A quaint, casual, lush tropical oasis transports one to a paradise surrounded by some of the most beautiful ecological surroundings. Tamarindo reminded me of Bali, and the tropical flora of Singapore. Casa de Las Olas is certainly a place I will strive to return to - a place where for us - time stood still.

Our stay at Casa de las Olas was better than we could’ve imagined. In a convenient neighborhood of Tamarindo just steps to the ocean, Rik’s home couldn’t be more perfect for our stay. Having the boards and bikes was amazinggg, we used them almost everyday. On top of that, Rik has an awesome “book” he made about Costa Rica, with recommendations of places to see, local tips, etc., we all enjoyed reading it! Overall, we are so happy we chose Casa de las Olas for our first trip to Costa Rica. Thanks Rik!!

Our stay at Casa de las Olas was better than we could’ve imagined. In a convenient neighborhood of Tamarindo just steps to the ocean, Rik’s home couldn’t be more perfect for our stay. Having the boards and bikes was amazinggg, we used them almost everyday. On top of that, Rik has an awesome “book” he made about Costa Rica, with recommendations of places to see, local tips, etc., we all enjoyed reading it! Overall, we are so happy we chose Casa de las Olas for our first trip to Costa Rica. Thanks Rik!!

Surfs up
We stayed at Casa de Las Olas for one week two couple .The weather was gorgeous, the waves around the lactation were fun we surfed 4 different spots all within a 15 min drive overhead surf and two spot within walking distance .Rik was available every time we reached out .Walter the maintenance team was able to locate fresh Tuna sunset sashimi .. We had a blast ..Great spot ,Great location , and Great people ..🤙🏽

Absolutely amazing vacation
I cannot say enough good things about Casa de las Olas. It is in the perfect location, a one minute walk to a beautiful, uncrowded beach. It has everything you need, including a well stocked kitchen, bikes, and surfboards to use. And Rik is the perfect host - he has so many recommendations and is super responsive to any questions or issues you might have. We can’t wait to stay here again on our next visit!!

Just pack your swimsuits!
Casa de las Olas was above and beyond our expectations!! Having all the extra beach toys and kitchen amenities was a super plus. My favorite appliance was the orange squeezer where we made fresh squeeze orange juice every morning. Also, the fact that it included surf boards had us go beyond our comfort normal vacation zones and we gave surfing a try...a whole new sport I can see myself getting into!

This was our first time in the Tamarindo/Playa Langosta area, and the location couldn’t have been more perfect for a laid back family getaway. The beach was so close by; just across the street and down the short walkway - 2 min walk from front door to sand. There were several restaurants in walking distance via the street, and many just a short walk down the beach.
Having surfboards and boogie boards was amazing; the kids could grab them and head down to the beach anytime. We felt super safe in the neighborhood and area in general.
A 3-4 min drive into town landed you in the heart of the booming nightlife, grocery stores, and tons of restaurants and shops.
The house itself was spacious and gorgeous, and secured by walls and gates for access to the yard/bodega.
We utilized the new fresh herb garden, picking as needed for cooking. The house had everything we needed to make home cooked meals, frozen drinks, etc.
Loved it so much we hope to return soon!!!

Perfect spot in Tamarindo
This place was even better than we anticipated! Cute, private place with a path to the beach that was so close by. The trees lining the path had Howler monkey's that would put on a show in the afternoons and mornings. We loved walking along the beach to several beach restaurants that had the best food of our trip. Rik was extremely helpful and full of tips for us. We would love to stay here again.

Casa de las Olas
Wonderful property! We had a great time staying at Casa de las Olas! Rik was there to greet us when we arrived and give us a tour of the house. The house worked great for our family of four. We loved being such a short walk to the beach and enjoyed all of the toys that Rik has available- bikes, boogie boards, surf boards. The house is a short walk into town. The house and property are immaculate! Rik’s staff are obviously detail oriented and it makes for a comfortable retreat.
