Very nice unit with panoramic ocean views. Spacious and well-appointed. Resort had everything we needed, and staff was helpful and friendly. Would definitely return.

The place was perfect for our group. We brought our adult children to stay for a week and everyone had their own room, plenty of space for everyone. The lanai was the best feature. We spent most mornings having coffee out there and most nights outside watching the sunset. It was clean and well maintained. We will look to stay here the next time we visit Maui.

A ceiling fan was not working and they had it fixed within a couple days. Everyone was very kind and helpful. Renting the property was easy. Description and pictures on line were consistent with what we found. No negative surprises. Unit 550 was perfect for our large family and we enjoyed the grilling and sunsets from our patio. Property manager KBM was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely come again and refer my friends.

Unit and grounds were beautiful. We were there with 4 adults and 2 kids under the age of 2. The unit is spacious with a beautiful ocean facing deck. Fun to watch the water, whales and swimming pools. The kitchen was well stocked with lots of plates, glasses etc. Would definitely go back.

Perfect amount of space for a big group and an amazing view to wake up to every day.There was something for everyone rather it was a pool day, beach day or happy hour at dukes. The amenities were great ,kitchen was fully loaded with what we needed, having a closet of items for the beach were so nice as well

Loved our stay at Honua Kai Resort! We Booked through KBM Hawaii and reserved Unit 550 in the Kona Tower. The 3 bed, 3 bath condo was everything I was hoping for. The views were second to none from the 5th story room with a large lanai, which we lounged on regularly. With three adult couples, we found the place spacious and decorated very tastefully. Be careful about the floor of the lanai when it's wet, as it is as slippery as ice! The sound system was a great bonus to be able to stream music throughout the rooms from logging into Pandora via the smart TV. Although the rooms were next to one another, we really didn't hear anyone making noise in the other rooms. Our greeter was pleasant and took action immediately when we realized we did not have enough stemware for the wine we had to accompany the fantastic dinners we all had planned. Chris had a box of Riedle red and white wine stemware delivered that day. The kitchen was well equipped and having our own Viking Grill on the lanai was priceless. At night, we opened all the wall size windows and enjoyed the ocean air, along with the sounds of the waves. The free car rental was great too, although, we did need to and suggest an upgrade to a larger vehicle. An improvement would have been to have use of a vacuum and floor mop for those unexpected spills. Overall, we are planning on returning soon and to make this a family get together at least every other year.

We had 8 people in our group ranging from 2 - 53 years old. Everyone had plenty to do the entire 7 days we were there. The location was perfect for all the different age groups with the ocean and included pools to use. Local restaurants, shopping and activities were less than 10 minutes away. We will be back!

Just got back from a 1 week trip. This condo was great: well-located within the Honua Kai, well-furnished, and very comfortable. The KBM staff was easy to work with and friendly. The view from the lanai is spectacular: oceans and islands, and we were lucky enough to also have lots and lots of whales. Notes on the Honua Kai: this is a large high-end condo complex. The pools are great for families and kids. Duke's is great for breakfast, lunch, and sit-down dinner. Unfortunately, Duke's has discontinued it's casual dinner options. There is a grocery within walking distance, and at the edge of walking distance is a great fish market (The Fish Market) and a really good grocery (The Farmers' Market). One down note: when outside on the lanai, there was an annoying beeping noise that continued on and off throughout the week. While we reported it to KBM, since it wasn't coming from the unit, I don't think there was anything they could do.

This condo was perfect. We had 3 couples for part of our stay but 4 people for most of it. The condo is spacious, clean and has everything one could want. The views were stunning. We sat on the lanai every day and watched whales spouting and breaching. The beach is right out front and great restaurants are just short drive from the area. The managers were hospitable and communicative. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This was the perfect unit for us. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out and not feel cramped. Each couple / kids had their own room. The unit was spotless. It was nice for the grandparents to watch from the lanai as the kids played in the pools. We have been renting thru KBM for 4+ years and we always contact them first when we are planning a trip to Maui. We always rent a gazebo on our first full day to relax and the beach services people (gazebo setup and towels) and drink servers from Dukes are great. Awesome.

Spacious, immaculate accommodations with an unbeatable view. We spent hours just sitting on the balcony and staring out to sea. The rooms were extremely comfortable, and we loved all the extra touches that KBM provided, from booster seats to beach toys. A wonderful destination for both kids and adults.

My family and I stayed in this stunningly gorgeous ocean front alii suite and had the best maui vacation ever! The condo is well stocked, very clean, & a great layout and location. We watched the whales every morning from the lanai during breakfast and had some of the most memorable sunsets :) The kids were able to swim in the pools and I could see them from the lanai while we bbq'd on the lanai... we couldn't have asked for better. This is truly a one of a kind suite and worth every penny! Justin from KBM Hawaii was wonderful and was able to give us great recommendations while here. The whole KBM experience was effortless and we will be returning next year for sure!! I highly recommend KBM and this gorgeous suite to anyone looking for a perfect Maui experience!

We have stayed in Kaanapali before. Always great and always at a named resort. First time to Honua Kai and we picked the best condo available. View of the ocean and islands every morning and the best sunsets ever. First class accommodations all the way. Both pool and beach options right out the front door. Dukes restaurant is on site and has a great happy hour and dinners are incredible. We had everything we ever would need and if we didn't it was a phone call away. Thanks for a great trip!

We had spent two weeks on Maui at another resort and were faced with an unexpected circumstance that kept us on island. A family of five, we had no place to stay. I went down the listings on VRBO, being summer, I was not optimistic. Then, I found Barbara. She was so accommodating and helpful. She immediately put my worries to rest. She found us a place to stay and was so flexible and understanding. We had no idea how long we would need a place to stay at that point. Barbara booked us for some "gap days" for unit 201 at Honua Kai and from the moment we walked in, we knew we would be back. We were immediately spoiled! We cooked in almost every meal! Why wouldn't we? We had a gas stove...a lanai that was amazing. It had its own barbecue and eating area. Our last five days spent at the Honua Kai were more relaxing than our previous two weeks! Thank you again Barbara (and John) for not only taking such great care of us but for being such genuinely nice people. We will definitely be back!! Mahalo!

We have used Home Away and VRBO for many rentals over the last few years, but this suite at Honua Kai was by far the most amazing home/condo we have rented. We took our kids and grandkids to Maui for a week and this suite exceeded our expectations. First of all, it is located at an exclusive resort and spa in Kaanapali. The suite itself was huge and we were able to fit our group of seven very comfortably in the unit. Three large bedrooms and three full bathrooms were perfect for our group. The kitchen was first rate with Viking appliances throughout and everything we needed was there. The owners provide 4 boogie boards and beach chairs and even a cooler to take to the beautiful beach right below the resort. The Lanai was the best part of this unit with a long spacious outside area that offers a 180 degree view of the ocean and the sunsets were amazing every night. We worked with KBM to rent this unit and we received friendly and prompt service from Barbara, Justin and John. Dukes Restaurant was right below our unit and we took advantage of their great happy hour every day that featured live music. This unit was well worth the expense and provided our kids with a most memorable trip to Hawaii.

For a “special” birthday, instead of going to Europe or Australia, I wanted to take my daughters, their husbands, and my grandchildren somewhere special. We all agreed on Hawaii, and I believe this area of Maui is “the best”, for its spirituality, history, and sheer beauty. After a good deal of research, email exchanges with Justin (KBM), and exchanges of ideas with my family, I selected this property, and specifically this unit. It couldn’t have suited our needs better. The promotional pictures of the unit and the property were accurate, if not leaving out some highlights! The property is beautiful, and provides something for everyone, from youngest to oldest, and is very child friendly. Anything not available on the property is within a five to ten minute drive. The unit was exactly as described - so well outfitted we could have moved in! It comfortably accommodated all 10 of us, had sand toys for the youngest, boogie boards for the tweeners and beach chairs for the oldest! The two-kitchen set-up meant that more people could take part in meal-prep without getting in each others’ way :). Special shout out to the customer service of KBM: Justin made us feel like we were guests, not clients; if we did have a question or request, Justin or John were never more than 5 minutes away; a daughter realized she had left behind some important papers and just expected they would be tossed by housekeeping, but John sent them back without even being asked and without charging for postage! I notice that a couple of other reviews mentioned the wind: the trades are a bit unpredictable due to the orientation of this part of the island; not even the locals would predict what the conditions will be like one day to another. But, that is part of what makes this spot of the universe so beautiful (and relatively bug-free!). If predictability of wind conditions is a deal-breaker for you, you probably should do your research and make sure your destination suits your specific needs. For me, I will continue to return to the Kaanapali area of Hawaii, and now have a new favorite property!

When we moved into our Honua Kai 3 bedroom . . . we were blown away. KBM Hawaii were complete professionals from the booking and questions to walking us through our home away from home! I felt like a movie star with that kind of treatment! The condo was simply amazing. The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen was amazing! We had so much room to play and hang out! The deck was the best part of the whole experience. We sat for hours - EVERY DAY - watching whales and enjoying each others company. This was an amazing trip and I think this condo was the best place we have ever stayed. I will always use KBM for any rentals in Maui but I hope to always return to this same condo! Thanks to Justin for all the extra work to make this the perfect vacation!
