About this house rental
Nestled in Atlantic Beach, this attractive house for £349 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Beautiful DIRECT OCEAN FRONT duplex a few hundred yards from the only Fishing Pier on the west end of the island. Both Whithaven 1 & Whithaven 2 are owned by the Whitley family. The Oceanana Pier is just steps away from 'Whithavens' extra large deck. Each side has 3 BR's (king, queen and 2 twins) and 2 1/2 baths plus an extra large L shaped couch. The kids love sleeping on the couch too so everyone can enjoy themselves. (dog friendly too with additional pet fee). During our covid period remodel, the whole unit was repainted, new ceilings and more upgrades plus increased parking up front from renovating our entry enclosure is sure to please. We use lock boxes for keys so no in person contact is standard for our units. We have an outside enclosed shower with HOT and cold water to rinse off after the beach or to use for your everyday shower (which I highly recommend and great for pets too). As an added feature we recently installed a UVC germicidal light in the ductwork to kill any viruses or mold to help keep the air clean and provide help for allergy suffers. We provide pretty much everything you need to walk into the unit and enjoy your stay. We provide linens, bath towels, paper goods when available (restock if you can and bring some just in case), fully stocked kitchen including many spices and almost everything you need other than food and your favorite beverages. We have a hammock, beach chairs, beach toys, outside grill and hotel grade deck and lounge chairs. We can't promise sunshine but the weather is usually better than at home. Bring your own beach towels and toiletries and you will be ready for a relaxing vacation. Our neighbors own and manage the only privately owned Event Venue on the NC coast "The Cottage at The Crystal Coast" which is 5 houses up from ours. They host live events, concerts and weddings so check them out at www.thecottage.com. You might see a concert listed on their "live events" calendar and decide to walk to the concert with your friends or book a wedding event for the future and have guests stay at our units. Also, our new cleaning service is focused on providing the best possible service for each and every stay with enhanced cleaning procedures per 2023 guidelines. We have a fully stocked kitchen with various spices, zip lock bags, aluminum foil etc. are standard. Spare paper products (when available) are in the bottom drawer beside the refrigerator. Please replace what you use if you can for the next guests. Let's face it, you come to the beach to enjoy the beach so you might as well be RIGHT ON THE OCEAN with a massive deck made for 'enjoying' all the beach atmosphere you can. While we make the inside as comfortable as we can with TV's, nice beds and full kitchen, it's really about being outside at the beach. That's why we tore down our old deck and replaced it with a 3 level deck. Each side has their own 3rd level upstairs deck off of each master bedroom with a privacy wall in the middle. It's perfect for working on your tan in private or enjoying the sunsets. The main living area has an extra large deck with a bar top built around each side of the privacy wall. This gives you privacy when you want it but makes it easy to enjoy your family and friends outside whenever you want. We provide plenty of chairs and picnic tables so you can choose to eat outside or simply enjoy your favorite beverage (or 2 or 3) while watching the waves crash on the beach or watching the fishermen on the pier. The extra wide walkway (perfect for strolling hand in hand with someone special) takes you down the steps to the lower deck that is perfect for some extra privacy or can be used as a smoking section away from the main unit. The ground level has picnic tables and a gas grill for each side. When you come in off of the beach if you feel like an outdoor shower each side has their own covered and enclosed shower underneath the deck with HOT and cold water. Rinse off your surfboard (one of the prime surfing spots on the whole Island), your pets or rinse off the sand from the supplied boogie boards and beach chairs. The garage is perfect for storing your bikes or extra outdoor items like kayaks, paddle boards or parking a car. Dart board and corn hole give you something to do on those rainy days. Whithaven really is a special place. Please book your stay and become one of the Whithaven clan. If Whithaven 2 is unavailable for your dates the other side of the property may be avalable or book both for your group. Whithaven 1 (666413) is the sister side of the duplex and also is on VRBO/HomeAway. If you can't find it send me an email and I will check the status as well. Direct access to the beach and the pier is a very short walk. The view is awesome, especially the sunrise and sunset. We had the pleasure of meeting Lee and Dawn during our vacation, and they are great hosts! This house has everything you need for your stay, but restaurants and grocery stores are very close by. This will be our go to place to stay in Atlantic Beach!

Awesome location, walkable to many restaurants and the beach is your backyard. The pier (and pier restaurant) are 4 houses away down the beach. The house is well equipped with household needs and has tons of beach toys, chairs, etc. this is our second year staying at this home and we expect next year to be our third!

The pictures don’t do the property justice…the property was clean, beautiful, and relaxing. Getting in touch with the owners was never a problem. They were very responsive. I would love to go back again! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!!!

My family thoroughly enjoyed our week here! The location is great!! Walk to restaurants, bike to Ft Macon, or just wander out the deck door to the ocean. The well-appointed kitchen and family friendly seating made mealtimes easy and a great space for connecting after our sunny days outside. The spacious deck was also a family favorite. The house was clean with great light and plenty of space. The managers/owners were super friendly and easy to connect with. Highly recommend this place for family vacations!!

Our stay at Whithaven 2 was absolutely wonderful! This was my first time booking through VRBO and won't be our last booking for Whithaven. We thoroughly enjoyed the oceanfront house. The view is spectacular. The house was extremely clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable and ample linens.
I was pleasantly surprised with how stocked the kitchen was and all the beach chairs and wagons available for use. Thank you for sharing your slice of paradise.

This rental was perfect for our needs with a few restaurants within walking distance. Near the causeway and bridge for Morehead City and Beaufort visits. Comfortable beds! Many chairs on a great deck for views of dolphins, the pier, and sea birds.

The location is great. It is an older house and was what I would call surface clean. There were food crumbs in the kitchen drawers and the cabinets are older with some dishes and spaces that hadn’t been used in a while. My big issue is that the upstairs bathroom is not really user friendly at all. It is very small, the shower curtain had mildew, the faucets all had rust and mildew in them or on them, and the left side sink had no hot water at all. That being said, for a unit that allows pets, it smelled great, the sheets were clean, and it wasn’t “pet dirty”. The furniture is older and the white wicker furniture in the upstairs room especially the nightstand needs some spills cleaned off/out of it. But there was obviously a great effort to keep the floors clean and sand free though. Nice new, large washer and dryers in the garage. We enjoyed our stay and overall, except for that upstairs bathroom, it is a nice place.

This property was incredible. Super clean, modern upgrades inside, and most importantly, spectacular views with direct access to the beach. Could not have asked for a better location. Hosts were incredibly responsive and accommodating. Huge shared deck on the lower level and great private deck on the upper floor master bedroom. Extremely dog friendly property. Renting the Whithaven is always great . The view in the morning drinking coffee on the deck is tremendous. Short stroll to the beach to hang out by the water and also a short walk to the pier to fish eat or just simply hang out . The property was clean and homey feeling… I would recommend the Whithaven to anyone… Mr Lee is great if you have any questions about the property he is very prompt to answer whenever you need anything.. great property great stay looking forward to next year. Family reunion
After a few years of separation due to COVID, it was a great place to be together again as a family. The house is wonderfully located looking over the ocean. There is ample room to be together or find a nook for some time for yourself. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a terrific grill outside for summer cooking. The large deck outside let us gather together both day and night. We will return.

Wonderful stay
First time at Atlantic beach, and so glad we chose to stay here. Went on a long weekend stay with my mom and grandmother, and we had the best time. Everything was clean and fully stocked (I mean, FULLY stocked.. anything you forgot, they had). Comfortable beds, beautiful deck, beautiful view. What more could you ask for :) The only thing I would note, for those that are disabled, there is a little bit of a hill to climb over the dunes to get to the beach, not much, but hard to pass over if you have mobility issues. That being said, there is public access at the pier that is straight out very close by. Thanks for allowing us to stay! Hope to be back!
