There is plenty for the first or returning visitor to enjoy here in one of Cumbria’s tourist hotspots, one of the most famous attractions being the Windermere Lake Steamers which are within a gentle stroll of the cottage. Here you can take in the magnificent scenery of Windermere and her surrounding fell ranges and even hop across to Ambleside or down to Lakeside for a little more sightseeing. Duckling Cottage offers traditional features of wood flooring, exposed beams and open fireplace to complete the cottage feel and compliment the contemporary styling throughout. Duckling Cottage boasts two beautiful, stylish bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms making it the perfect choice for two couples wishing to sample fine cuisine, good shopping and the excellent nightlife that Bowness has to offer. Great location, great cottage with pretty much everything you could ask for.
Great location, great cottage with pretty much everything you could ask for. The only disappointment was the T.V’s could do with an upgrade, poor signal and not smart. Overall though very happy and would stay there again. Oh and allowed a pet which is great!!!

We had a lovely time here. The cottage is very well presented and a lot of thought has gone into equipping it, there was everything we could have wanted. Parking was difficult at times as it's a small street, with few spaces; the parking permit is vital! The location is terrific - there's a Co-op around the corner for all food essentials and there are lots of lovely clothing and gift shops, restaurants and pubs all just a few steps away - we got lots of Christmas shopping done.

We had the most lovely time staying in duckling cottage for my birthday week this October. The location of the cottage was fab as it was a short 2 minute walk to all the shops and pubs which Bowness had to offer! The amenities in the cottage were perfect for our stay.
There was a welcome hamper on arrival which was a lovely touch and duck food which we were able to take down to the lake with us.
We took our dog with us to stay and the courtyard out the back was perfect for letting her out and was extremely secure.
It was my first time in the Lakes and it will definitely not be the last and we will be sure to stay in duckling cottage again.

A lovely cottage in an ideal location really close to all the shops, pubs, restaurants and tourist attractions. Lovely extra little touches like duck food & dog biscuits, poo bags etc.
Could have done with a few cushions or a throw for the settees. Parking was not an issue at all for us although I imagine it could be in the summer months

Lovely place to stay.
Lovely place to stay. I found it easy to find and a good location for the area. Nice and clean with hard wood floors which I find good when you have a dog. I loved the ensuite showers that was part of the bed room for extra privacy. Great back yard that was sucure. With piece of mind my dog wont get out. The only down side was the step in to the boot room as my mam suffers from arthritis and found it hard to get down but apart from that I would definitely come again

Cottage was comfortable but the level of cleanliness could have been better, dusting etc. Clothes found in chest of drawers from a previous occupant. Outside space was a little unkempt. Overall though, very nice property.

My family and I stayed at Duckling Cottage for a week and found it very well equipped, clean and comfortable. The cottage is in a great location very close to shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs and a cinema. It's a easy walk to Lake Windermere. We found the location quiet even though it's in a busy area. The extras such as the duck food and dog treats were a nice touch. My daughter particularly enjoyed the duck search around the cottage. There were a large selection of books, games, DVDs in the cottage. Only real drawback is that the master bedroom bed was too soft for us.
Overall we had a great stay and would recommend it.

Lovely quaint cottage and ideal location, had everything we needed. Very clean, beds comfortable. Never had to use the car everything close by and great open top bus service to visit places if we wanted to travel further. Highly recommend will be staying again. Left a bottle of gin for the owners as a thank you we loved your cottage even the dog was made welcome, biscuits and bowls supplied.

We had a fantastic time in Duckling Cottage, everything we needed, very comfortable bed, couple of minutes walk to all amenities, fantastic walks close by, plenty of dog friendly pubs and The Albert a particular favourite for atmosphere and food, would definitely stay at Duckling Cottage again, not a negative only a tip - take toilet roll.
