A lovely cottage in a great location.
A lovely cottage in a great location.
A lovely cottage in a great location. The cottage catered for every need and was well equipped, warm and comfortable. The only issue we had was with the Wifi which is not brilliant but we managed. The local butcher and grocer were fantastic and some lovely walks all around the area for the dog. We would love to return. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We had a lovely holiday at The Griffin.
We had a lovely holiday at The Griffin.
We had a lovely holiday at The Griffin. It was a perfect location to explore the beautiful Duddon Valley and Coniston Water. The cottage was well equipped, very spacious, and characterful. For people who are taking their dog, just to be aware, that the back garden is not completely enclosed. There are arches leading to the street. The village has a very good butcher, a bakery and a well-stocked small grocery store. They are all great to have on your doorstep. There are currently (summer 2020) only 2 pubs that are open in the village that serve food at night. I recommend booking in advance (esp. Black Cock Inn). A lovely cottage in a friendly village, with excellent local amenities. Cottage spacious, so room for all to enjoy their own space, when wanted. Separate dining room was great for Christmas meals. Local pubs served good meals on nights we wanted a break from self catering. Great break, thank you.

This was our second time at the Griffin, which we chose because of its comfort, location and sense of being home from home. We would also like to thank the owner for allowing us to take both our dogs who also loved the near by walks, park and the Inn across the road.
