What a comfortable beach cottage. The location was great with a beautiful ocean view while walking the short but invigorating path to the beach. Carmen was accommodating and very helpful with any concerns or questions. Very private and quiet but added bonus got a free concert one night in the nearby park which was great for kids. Would definitely book this property again.

My family -- husband, son, daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, and myself -- have now enjoyed three vacations in this lovely house. It is cosy, quiet, comfortable, and tasteful in all its details. A short walk to the beach and to restaurants, it is also a green oasis. Nothing is better than an outdoor meal under the pergola in the front garden. It is becoming a family favorite getaway location -- close to my son's suburban house but a world away. From kids to grandparents we all love our time here.

My family and I had a wonderful stay in Laguna. The house was perfect for our family with three bedrooms and three full bathrooms! Great location next to a wonderful Park and not too far from town. Everything worked excellent and was all very clean and nice.

Perfect getaway in quiet neighborhood of million dollar cottages just blocks to a secluded public beach. Not spotless, but that has more to do with housekeeper than owner. Minutes from yoga, minutes to a secluded park, plenty of common area and secluded baths. Plus very responsive owner. Love this place and hope to come back next year.

The house was wonderful and had everything we needed... all the way down to a pack and play and high chair! We especially liked the layout of the house because each of the three bedrooms has its own bathroom, which enabled each couple to have their own private space. It was wonderful to have an outdoor and indoor eating area, and two living rooms. It came equipped with everything we needed... kitchen items and towels and sheets. The location was great too... walking distance to the water and to great restaurants and shops, but it was tucked away off the main street, which made for a quiet visit. Thank you, Carmen, for a wonderful family vacation! You were so responsive and great to deal with.

We had an awesome girls trip! Staying at this beautiful cottage was perfect for us. There were 4 of us, this house provided us ample space with a cozy environment. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by how nice this house was. It was perfect for us! We really liked the attention to the decor and amenities for guests. We would recomend this home to friends and families! In addition this location is very close to the beach access, shopping, and dining.

My family only stayed two nights of our planned and prepaid eight-night stay in this home. We left because we felt unsafe in the home. We also found the home to be unclean and not fully functional. We found dust and cobwebs, crumbs in the kitchen and a shower with no hot water. We also found non-working locks on the kitchen windows, a flimsy hook and eye lock on the family room’s backdoor, and no working / existing smoke alarms in many rooms. We left the home after the homeowner’s assistant left the home’s keys in the front door lock while we were out for the day. The assistant came to clean the house while we were out, and she forgot to remove the keys from the front door. While nothing was stolen, there were several hours during which any person could have come to the front door, turned the key and walked into the home. We had left many valuable while out--two laptops, two ipads, two ipods, jewelry, etc., because the home owner had assured us that everything would be totally secure while the assistant “tidied up”. We had considerable interaction with the owner before making the decision to leave and found the home owner’s responses to be insufficient and insensitive. For example, when we told her we were concerned about a lack of sufficient window and door locks, she said, “the neighborhood is safe, and when I lived there I never felt unsafe so there is nothing to worry about.” We would like to note that the owner was not candid about having received past complaints similar to ours. She repeatedly said, “I have never had a complaint about cleanliness or safety, so I am at a loss.” There are two VRBO reviews that contradict this: “Not very good on your own," and "A little disappointed," which is about the owner’s other property. When we spoke with the owner to let her know we were leaving the property, she said that she would refund us for half the days of our planned and prepaid stay if we gave her a receipt for our days in a hotel. We emailed her a receipt of our hotel stay. Sadly, the owner changed her position and only offered a future week's stay in one of her VRBO properties, which did not appeal to us because of our prior experience. We did not want to take this extreme step of posting these comments, but the home owner did not respond to us when we went through the standard complaint channels via VBRO. In the end, we feel this post is necessary considering our experience.

Our family spent three weeks at this lovely cottage. Our two elementary school aged children shared the kids bedroom, and my mother traveled with us as well and had her own room, and we stayed in the downstairs bedroom with the outdoor patio. The home is very comfortable -- the photos, owner's description of the property as well as the guest reviews are all accurate -- and the house was even better in person. The photos can't accurately depict the comfortable layout and beautiful outdoor spaces. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE HOUSE: charming California craftsman bungalow architecture, a small but very pretty front yard with table and cushioned chairs where we ate most meals, well-stocked with everything we needed (including beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and beach towels). HIGHLIGHTS OF THE HOUSE LOCATION: a two minute walk to the fantastic Bluebird playground at the end of the street (where we went in the mornings and evenings, and enjoyed the August outdoor Sunday evening concerts); a 10-15 minute walk to the closest beach and a 8-10 minute drive to Aliso beach with concessions, bathrooms and playground; a 5-10 minute walk to the PCH cafes, shops and restaurants. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE LAGUNA BEACH AREA: we enjoyed the beaches and exploring the tide pools; visited the beautiful Mission in San Juan Capistrano; the kids had horseback riding lessons at Bridges Equestrian; we had delicious meals at Watermarc, Nick's and at The Loft restaurant at the Montage Resort; we took picnic lunches to Moulton Meadows Park; swam at the Laguna Beach community pool during open swim; took art classes at the Sawdust Art Festival and created incredible keepsakes of our time in Laguna Beach. [We skipped area attractions like Disney Land and LegoLand and chose instead to stick with the outdoor aspects of Laguna.] It was a wonderful time for our family, absolutely one of our travel highlights.

The pictures don't do this property justice. From the canyon views to the sunny decks and cozy rooms, this place is really charming. That plus the easy walk to the beach make this property the perfect rental for a vacation in Laguna where you can truly feel right at home. Carmen made everything super easy and we felt very left alone to enjoy the weekend. We got groceries from Trader Joe's and cooked and ate in most meals. The kitchen was a great gathering place for our group and made for a more special vacation. Notes: we were 3 women in our late 20's/early 30's. I slept downstairs in the master bedroom and honestly think it more than compared to a hotel bedroom. The private patio downstairs was an extra plus. The two other women chose to sleep in the twin bedroom that opened on to the canyon. Those beds were very comfortable, although the room was set up to be a kids' room. The front bedroom was the least desired. It is located at the front, so has one window facing the driveway and street. It's a perfectly nice room, it just wasn't as preferred as the other two.

The lsting desription is accurate, I would even say that the cottage is actually nicer than it looks on pictures. Our stay at the cottage was perfect! We were a group of 6 adults, and the main purpose of our trip was to attend a wedding at Hotel Laguna. The cottage was not only a short walk from the venue, but also beautiful, extremely clean, well maintained, and peaceful. My favorite part was the front garden, I think the landscaping is exceptional, and the fountain adds a great touch to the charming nature of the cottage. There is a table on the front porch were we enjoyed a couple of meals. We were only there two nights, I totally recommend staying a full week! There is a lot to do in Laguna Beach, and the cottage is close to everything. We wish we had stayed longer!!! Also, the owner was extremely helpful in the booking process and available to answer any questions. We did not need the owner's help once we arrived, because everything was in perfect condition, and the instructions on the contract were really complete and straightforward.

This is a charming and cozy cottage in a quiet neighborhood in Laguna Beach. It has a tranquil and secluded feel due to the hedges out front and landscaping with a stone wall and fountain in the front. Even though the neighboring houses are close by it doesn't feel that way. We saw beautiful hummingbirds from the back deck every day. Inside the house, our favorite rooms were the front living room with a gorgeous stone fireplace and stained glass windows, and the roomy eat-in kitchen with a vintage feel. The 3 bathrooms have all been recently renovated with attractive tiles and fixtures. The house was comfortably outfitted with bath linens, kitchen utensils, beach towels, beach toys, etc. There were quite a few toys, stuffed animals, dress up clothes, etc, in the kids room which our kids loved. Also, as other posters have noted, there is a fantastic kids park just up the street that we went to every day in the morning and evening. The park would be appropriate for kids ages toddler to teenagers -- there is a good selection of play equipment and areas for different ages. We had a very nice stay here and would love to come back sometime.

Aside the fact that this part of California is the most beautiful and cleanest city I have ever seen, I am still speechless, lets talk about the rental house. We are so happy we picked this one. We checked all the others in the area once we there and hands down this one is the best. So cozy, so cute and so tucked away. We felt like we were hobbits living in between nature. Trees and plants all around us. And every morning we had hummingbirds visiting the fountain right outside outer bedroom window. Like a fairy tale. Very clean and very spacious. Don't look anywhere else because it doesn't get any better. Also it wasn't far from so many fun things. Perfect in all aspects.

This is the first time we used vrbo and we really didn't know what to expect. This house was exactly as promised - relaxing, peaceful and ideally located for families. We brought our three year old and our fifteen year old daughters and we had plenty of space. The little one loved the playground a few houses down and the older girl loved walking to the beach and shops. The house was well-appointed, although we could have used a few more kitchen utensils, sharp knives and some Tupperware for leftovers. But for simple meals, it was fine. The owners were always available and responsive. We would stay here again for sure!

We had a wonderful 3 day stay here. The house is goregous, beautifully maintained, spacious and welcoming. Its about 5 minutes to a beautiful beach and 10-15 mins walk to the main drag of Laguna Beach. We loved it. The house was spotless. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.
