The home is simply lovely. The private pier was an absolute highlight and enjoyed it every day of our visit. It's close enough to Placentia but yet far enough away from towns to feel like you have a bit of private paradise. Norman and Lus are great to work with and very helpful.

The most comfortable beds with an amazing view from the upstairs suite. What a beautiful stay for our Caribbean vacation.

A beautiful property with an amazing pier!
Las and Ellsworth are the most wonderful people. Las cooked for us a couple of times it was excellent.
Norman is an excellent host. I communicated with him regularly. He was always there to answer any questions and was extremely helpful and friendly!

We had a wonderful time and the home was perfect for us. Frequent and helpful communication from the owner and caretaker. They even helped us arrange an excursion. The home is very clean and comfortable and well appointed in a secluded location. Comfy beds. The whole family spent hours on the beach and on the enormous dock. Also made use of the kayaks and standup paddle boards. Snorkeling gear was provided as well. Really enjoyed the local restaurants as well as cooking at home in the huge kitchen. Would definitely stay here again.

My fiancé, his parents and two of our best friends all stayed at this house for a week. It was perfect! Spacious and comfortable for a group, nice amenities for preparing your own meals and even had Lus (the caretaker) make us an excellent Belezian meal ( and cheaper then eating out)! Restaurants nearby were amazing with great on the beach ambiance. It’s a drive to town but they’re many options, stores and food close by preventing you from having to head all the way to Placencia. The house and beachfront location are amazing, very private and gives you your own slice of Caribbean heaven. Would definitely recommend and return in the future!

We were down for ten days. Our stay was great. The house was clean. We had privacy. Lus and her husband Ellsworth were awesome. We asked her to cook one night for us and it was great. We cooked and she had Thanksgiving dinner with us. Ellsworth helped us husk coconuts and also grab some for coconut water..
The house is about thirty minutes from Placencia. An easy drive to get to the village. Norman had Desorine from Placencia fishing charters contact us. We went out with them two days and had a great time.
We may have worn the hammocks out on the property just relaxing. The only suggestion that I have is more beach chairs and outdoor dining table. Other than that, perfect.
Thank you. We will be back.

A group of family and friends recently spent one week at Caribbean Way. We had a wonderful stay! The home is spacious and beautiful. The pier is everything! We could’ve spent the whole time lying in the hammocks just enjoying the ocean breeze. The ocean water is warm and clear. It’s only about 3 feet deep around the pier so we spent hours frolicking in the ocean, no pool required. The caretaker, Lus, and her family went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. They are amazing! Communication with the owner was outstanding, Norman was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this home. Placencia Village is only a 25-30 minute drive and excursions can be easily arranged. Also there are several very nice restaurants nearby. Enjoy!!!

Beautiful waterfront property
We had a wonderful stay at Norman's house. The house was very clean and the beach and dock were wonderful. We really enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards. Communication was very easy with the caretaker, Lus. I will say, they only provide guests with 2 Culligan jugs of water. When you run out of water, which will happen with a 4 night min stay in a house for 8 people, you have to take the jug (20 - 25 min drive one way) to town to exchange it. It costs less than $5 so it was just more of an inconvenience to take almost an hour out of your day just to get water. I had never stayed somewhere that didn't provide guests with drinking water. So just keep that in mind and be sure to grab extra water when you are in town.

Amazing family retreat!
We had an amazing stay at Norman and Lynn’s house. It’s very comfortable, private and spacious, nicely decorated. The on-site caretakers were kind and helpful, and the owner offered wonderful suggestions for nearby restaurants, things to do and names of local guides. We have young kids, so we loved the beach and shallow warm water, the hammocks and shady yard to play! Thank you for a wonderful experience in Belize.

This home exceeded our expectations! It was clean and spacious, with central air and 3 large bedrooms with comfortable king sized beds--a rare find in a rental property! Our family of 5 adults and 2 children had plenty of room to spread out. The property is situated on an acre, so it is very secluded and quiet, yet only 15 minutes from a grocery store and about half an hour to the main town of Placencia, with lots of restaurants and shopping. I would recommend having a rental car, as the road into town is narrow, without shoulders, and seems dangerous for walking or biking( though the locals do it every day).
We spent much of our time on the wonderful covered pier, swimming and kayaking in the clear water and just relaxing in the cushy lounge chairs. All of us had fun spotting live sand dollars, and tropical fish--we even saw a small ray one day! So amazing to see all that right off the pier. Our other activities included a snorkeling tour, a fishing trip and the Monkey River tour, all led by Jr., a very knowledgeable tour guide who Norman recommended, and all were fantastic experiences.
We just can't say enough good things about our stay. Norman was a wonderful host. He provided directions to the house, suggestions on things to do and places to eat and was always available via e-mail or text when we had a question. Lus and Ellsworth, the caretakers, were also friendly and helpful, and kept the grounds and the beach in tip-top shape at all times. We even got Lus's recipe for her delicious Belizean potato salad she made for us one night! Our trip to Belize was awesome, and our stay in Norman and Lyn's house made it even more special. It was a beautiful home and definitely enhanced our experience. We can't wait to visit it again!

Our stay at Norman's house in Placencia was great. The house is exactly as described and very well kept up. Norman was great with communication and we had no trouble finding it, even in the dark. The upstairs master suite was fantastic, with great views to wake up to and a super comfy bed.
The only negatives would be that it is quite far out of town, so you need a car, and the drive, with all the speed bumps takes about 30 minutes. Placencia isn't a hub of tourist activity either. It you want action, like water sports, or night life, go to San Pedro. We did visit Laughing Bird Caye for a snorkel and it was amazing, but don't try and rent a windsurfer, or go sailing on a windy day. There is nothing like that in Placencia. If you want to just chill on the dock and read a book, maybe a drive into town for dinner and an ice cream...then you will love this place.

First of all Norman, Lus and Ellsworth could not have been finer hosts. As a traveller I welcome instant feedback as a sign of an owner who cares about his property and the guests. It was a pleasure to rent this villa from start to finish.
After a very long day of travel it was wonderful to have a delicious prepared meal by Lus and Ellsworth; the caretakers. My first impression was a beautifully appointed home down to every detail including a copper kitchen sink. There was a nice large open room for relaxing, making family meals and dining. Each bedroom had firm king beds providing privacy with a porch to read on. Both bathrooms had large showers and Mexican tiled sinks with a jacuzzi tub upstairs.
Outside of the family room was a large wrap-around porch perfect for the morning cup of coffee as we watch the sunrise each morning. We enjoyed sunning ourselves out on the dock on plush teak lounge chairs. You can place a ladder off the end of the pier to find you are actually standing in sand as it is still quite shallow for a swim in the ocean. We experienced strong winds which unfortunately brought up sea grass from the ocean. Ellsworth did his best to rake it but Mother Nature won the battle. I have found the sea grass to be a problem all over the Caribbean in the past years; best to just accept it.
Our adventures out included trips to the Belize Ocean Club; a fifteen minute drive. The pool was beautiful, on the beach and was a great kid place for my Grandson. Our other trip was to Bocawina for the longest zip line (2.5 miles off of 9 platforms). While this was fun it is not for the timid as unlike some zip lines this course requires arm strength to brake. If you lack this I learned you can always go tandem with the guide.
We did not venture too far as the villa and pool provided all we needed. There is a Publix grocery store just south of the Belize Ocean Club and a gas station further south by the marina. One does not need to go to Placencia which is a two hour drive with traffic and poor roads. A car though is a must for food and restaurants. I would strongly recommend you take the plane from Belize City airport to Placencia airport. The drive which we did was scenic taking three hours each way and a bit dangerous as buses will pass you forcing oncoming cars to move out of their way.
All in all a perfect relaxing vacation. Only item missing were pot holders for the oven! Many thanks Norman, Lynn, Lus and Ellsworth.

You Better Belize it...
Put this home on your bucket list...we had the vacation of a life time. We have takin yachts with captains, chefs and tour guides along with a million curses and rented homes around the world. This was a very unique vacation, the grounds keepers knew where to eat, fish, waterfalls, river rafting, stores for food, ruins, zip lining, even cooked our family a delicious Belizean meal. The home was spectacular...We loved Belize and the wonderful people who made this vacation, one of a kind, that my family will never forget! The home owner is a great guy!!! We will be back...

UnBelizeable!
We had an epic Belize vacation. Six of us stayed recently and enjoyed the home very much. It is a beautiful, clean and well appointed home on the beach. The master bedroom on the second floor offered great views of the sunrise and every accommodation you need. The two other bedrooms on the first floor were also well appointed and had a convenient vanity area. It took us about 3 hours to get there from the airport.
The caretakers were very helpful. Lus cooked us a special Belizean meal that was an excellent way to end a long day of snorkeling.
We did many excursions such as snorkeling, zip lining, waterfall repelling, Monkey River tour, river tubing and Spice Farm. We also spent a day at the Belize Ocean Club enjoying the pool and drinks on the beach. Wish we had more time. The guide we used was recommended by the owner and his name is Junior. He was great. He knows the area inside and out.
I must say, every person we met from Belize was very nice, willing to help and not pushy like in some of the Caribbean islands.
We never had a bad meal, all of the restaurants were excellent and reasonably priced. Best meal was probably at Rumfish in Placencia but it is not on the water. The town of Placencia is a little bit of a distance and took about a half an hour by car to get there, mostly due to the speed bumps. The Maya Beach Bistro is also very good and located a bit closer in Maya Beach. We even went bowling at the local bowling alley...best pizza.
The owner Norman, was very helpful making suggestions and provided a useful informational packet. He was very willing to talk to us before the trip as we organized our plans.

Greatest Place on Earth!
Wow...where do I start! I booked Caribbean Way Villa five months in advance and received every bit of information one would possibly need from the owners, Norman and Lynn Phillips. I was equipped with directions to the villa, local flights, restaurants, land excursions, sea tours and many more tourist activities. Our 11-day stay was fabulous....my family enjoyed this beautiful home's amenities from spacious rooms, to a modern kitchen, to wifi and AC and most desirable, the sweetest dock I've ever stepped foot on! My college daughter took advantage of flying in and out on Maya Island airlines (Placencia airport is about 15 minutes away) while we rented a car from Belize City airport (easy 3 hour scenic drive)...so, traveling around was very simple. We spent half our trip hanging out on the dock, kayaking and swimming. Our day trip to the barrier reef and all it's wonders was a first for my family...words cannot explain nature's beauty and elegance seen while snorkeling with sea turtles, nurse sharks, an infinite amount of fish species (particularly blow fish) and coral. We were picked up on the dock by Junior...this is one serious local captain with a lifetime of knowledge when it comes to navigating the reef, islands and fishing spots. The village offers a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream parlor, multiple grocery stores so, plenty of options for dining and picking up supplies. Just down the road, we visited Placencia Hotel and Belize Ocean Club for drinks by the pool and beach. Finally, we had the convenience of caretakers, Las and Ellsworth...if you needed anything or had questions or just wanted to learn about Belize, you could always count on these wonderful folks! My family had such a wonderful time...we all cannot wait to head back to the greatest place on earth!

Norman was incredibly helpful and readily available to answer any and all questions. Onsite family were delightful and also very helpful with all things related to the house and property. Home is absolutely beautiful, spacious and very clean. Easy access to Wifi and kitchen was completely full with everything we could possibly need such as blender, juicer, coffee maker, pots and pans, etc.
Dock was fabulous for sitting and sunning. Very private beach area though not much for walking. Once you get past the small area in front of the house, there is considerable trash on the beach especially plastics which was disheartening. Unfortunately, it was incredibly windy the last three days of our visit. This kept us from being able to swim, snorkel or fish at the house so if it's calm, better take advantage of home based activities. Otherwise, go inland. We did have a great excursion out fishing and snorkeling from a connection the owner, Norman provided.
Food at nearby restaurants was very good especially Maya Beach Bistro. All is all, a very wonderfully relaxing place to rent but again, don't count on being able to swim or snorkel from the house if it's windy.

Loved the house and the view. The sun would come up about 5-5:30am right in the master bedroom windows and doors. I just loved waking up that way each morning. The caretakers, Lus & Elsworth, were wonderful. I miss Lus and her son's cooking on the new grill that Norman purchased. Fresh fish and lobster caught that day, on the grill that night, can't ask for anything better!

Our 2 week vacation to Belize was an incredible and wonderful experience and was made that much better by Norman and his beautiful home in Placencia. Norman was a pleasure to work with and very responsive to our requests and questions. We spoke several times over the phone prior to our arrival to answer all of my questions and Norman was a great resource to all of the best places to eat/tours in the area. Norman's directions from the international airport to the house were very accurate and easy to follow. Upon our arrival at the house Lus the caretaker was waiting for us to let us into the home and show us everything we needed. I also can not say enough positive things about her and her family. They were never intrusive but were more than willing to answer any questions with directions, hints and setting up snorkel tours with a local guide who came right to the home's dock to pick us up for a day on the ocean. Lus and her husband spent a good 30 minutes on a Saturday morning trying to find the closest medical clinic that was open for an ear infection.
The home itself is fantastic. It is large and very comfortable with great A.C., large bedrooms with great king sized beds, and a wonderful dock. The master suite is huge and comparable to what you would expect from a suite in most 5 star Vegas resorts. The master is on the second floor which was nice as it gave ourselves and teenage daughters our own separate spaces at the end of the day (each of them having their own large room with a king sized bed). The home was very clean and I loved the large fluffy towels in the bathrooms. Lus came in several times throughout our stay to wash the towels and wash/change the sheets on the bed but she was willing to clean daily if we asked. We also appreciated having the washer and dryer as it saved packing space for 14 days.
We spent several days just hanging out on the dock enjoying the comfortable lounge chairs and ocean waves. As far as the location of the home, it is less than a 10 minute drive to Maya beach and it's grocery store and restaurants. It is also very close to the Placencia Resort and its huge pool which we took advantage of several times as staying in Norman's home allows you to access the resort.
I highly recommend it, Norman is great to work with and the home itself is very nice, you will not be disappointed if you decide to stay here.

This was our first visit to Belize and it did not disappoint. We drove from Belize City to Norman's house and were immediately impressed when we rolled into the driveway. The house's caretaker, Lus, prepared a delicious Belizean style meal for our arrival. It hit the spot. In fact Lus overall was amazing. She helped us with anything we needed. The location of the house is about a 30 minute drive to Placencia Village, which was just convenient enough. I cannot say enough nice things about the house and the property. I thought the pictures were too good to be true. I assure you they do not do it justice. Each bedroom has comfortable beds with with amazing linens. The privacy of the private dock and huge cabana were also a huge plus. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

It is rare to visit a rental property to find it is even better than imagined--but here it is. The pictures are wonderful and the place is paradise; on site is even better. The long pier leads to a terrific spot for lunch or watching the sun rise. The grounds are kept immaculately. Everything works; if it doesn't then Norman or the staff fix it immediately. There is a family living on the property away from the house--attentive yet not over-bearing, ready to help whenever asked or to leave you in peace. Truly wonderful.

This was our first visit to Belize and the suggestions from Norman (owner) made planning the trip very easy. From booking flights to what restaurants to go to. My family have already posted pictures and captions on FB like "this was the best vacation ever", " we want to go back now" The property and location are great. The sunrise for the end of the dock is spectacular. 6 out of the 7 days we were up at 5:30 am just to watch the sunrise. Fantastic property and great service!
Cheers

We recently spent 12 days in this luxury beachfront home and absolutely loved it! With plenty of room for our family of five, five star accommodations, private beach/pier, beautiful views, wonderful people, great weather, and an outstanding location, we have nothing but great experiences to share. From day one we felt welcomed and comfortable, and we settled in quickly. We enjoyed world-class snorkeling, great fishing, kayaking, and more, and really enjoyed every single day. The worst thing -- packing up to leave! If you get the chance, we highly recommend staying here.
