Located in Tisbury, this attractive house for £432 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Our sweet, spacious, completely renovated cottage and guest house is a unique compound, secluded yet accessible. Tucked under towering oak trees on a hill, it is both romantic for couples and also perfect for families who want to be together, yet have privacy. The houses were originally built by a Vineyard artisan and were restored with respect for the home s character - sophisticated but relaxed with Anthropologie style decor. The main house s gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with a Wolf gas range top and double electric wall ovens, soapstone counters and an old farmhouse sink. It is an open space with the dining area set beside the unusually large brick hearth, which was built and restored by an Island mason (and blues musician). The room also features historic, reclaimed exposed beams and wide-plank pine floors. Down the hall, past the laundry room is the large family room, furnished with new, down-cushioned couches and equipped with a wide-screen HD cable tv, (and Apple TV), good books, puzzles and board games - including a spectacular Restoration Hardware scrabble game. There are two full baths, with hand-made Talavera Mexican tiles, French doors in front and back leading to mahogany decks overlooking the gardens. On the porches of both houses, you can enjoy meals on marble and cast iron tables, shaded by large canvas umbrellas or relax in the zero-gravity lounge chairs. The large master bedroom has a hand-turned antique queen bed and a down-filled chaise by the window for reading and napping. French doors separate the master suite from the two smaller bedrooms down the hall. One has an exposed brick wall, both are light and airy with extremely comfortable beds with brand new mattresses. Across the yard, the guest house is an enormous, Soho loft-like space with a post and beam cathedral ceiling and skylights, bathing the house in natural sun and moon light. There is a breakfast nook, a living area with French doors opening to the deck and woods. Off to one side is a sleeping alcove with an elegant antique four-poster queen bed and on the other side, a luxurious full bath with skylights, a copper soaking tub and separate walk-in shower. We are a 10-minute walk to the calm waters and long sandy shores of Lambert s Cove beach and only a few minutes to Uncle Seth s Pond where kids can hunt for tadpoles and swim in shallow water while adults can go for a nice long swim. Our houses are also a five-minute walk to Ice House Pond, which is one of the best (and semi-secret) swimming spots on the Island. By bike or car, you can pop down to the Black Dog restaurant and bakery for triple berry muffins, lobster rolls and superb clam chowder. Cronig s supermarket, and the quaint town of Vineyard Haven are only a few miles away. Both houses have outdoor showers.

We had an amazing stay in MV! The house was gorgeous and had so much character. We were so comfortable during our stay. My parents stayed in the carriage house, which was great for them to have some privacy and quiet. My adult siblings and our significant others comfortably stayed in the main house. The kitchen was fully stocked with all of the gadgets and cookware you would ever need. There were so many Beach and shower towels for us to use, too! It was a very peaceful area and very close to Lambert’s Cove Beach. We walked our dog to the beach every morning (only like 10 min) where she could play with all of the dogs before 10am. The outdoor showers were the perfect way to finish up a beach day. Melissa was so sweet and very easy/quick to communicate with. We will definitely be staying here again and highly recommend this place!!

Melissa's home is absolutely amazing and makes for the perfect getaway on MV. She was an outstanding host, extremely responsive, and provided all of the information that we needed throughout our stay. We can't wait to get back and spend time at her home again soon!

Everything about this property was just perfect- from the booking experience to the stay itself. The property is perfectly secluded and situated away from everything but close enough to be convenient as well. The home is beautifully restored and decorated and is very homey. My in-laws stayed in the carriage house and absolutely loved it as they were able to be part of all the fun, but get away when they needed a break too. Our kids loved how close we were to Lamberts Cove and loved playing in the spacious yard as well. I can’t say enough about how much we loved staying here and look forward to visiting again soon!

Our group ranged from a 2 month old baby to a grandparent, and included family members from three households. All felt welcomed and comfortable in this beautiful home! Having the two houses offered the perfect arrangement for our mixed family group - plenty of room both to spread out, and to be together. We found the walk to Lambert's Cove beach to be manageable even with small children, and loved the option of Seth's pond on days when we wanted something even closer. The toys and games in the living room helped to make even our rainy days super pleasant. We were so grateful to have had the chance to stay in this home, and so appreciated the home owner's warm and consistent communication. Thank you!
