About this house rental
Welcome to the Forgotten Coast and to Ocean Mile J9! Our 300 Ocean Mile Unit J9 is just one unit out of the 100 unit townhome community, comprised of 1 to 3 bedroom units constructed in the early 1980s, all in a half-moon shaped arrangement around the community pool which faces the beach - to be even more exact on location, we're on the East End of the island next to the gorgeous State Park just steps away! This unit may have been built 30 years or more ago, but immediately our travelers notice very spacious and brightly colored living spaces combined with the basic comforts of home to create an overall inviting stay at the beach! Ocean Mile J9 has two private sun decks, one located on the second level for the Queen Bedroom and the other on the third level for the King Suite to grab those warm, relaxing salt breezes and views of both the Gulf and Bay! Another sun deck is just off of the main living room which is also furnished and provides access to the boardwalk system to give you easy access to the pool and beach! (This pool is not heated). There is a pet/child gate located in the down stairs pantry closet if needed for added safety. J9 is designed with beach living for small families in mind and is dog- friendly (up to 2 dogs max); the unit is very- well appointed with a fully stocked kitchen, a spacious living area that provides a 65" LCD flat panel display with Roku and Netflix that allow you to bring your account access with you. There is a very nice selection of Academy Award Winning movies - some DVD and some VHS - and may be watched on the players in each bedroom as well. We also have a a small book library to tie everything together. If you want to challenge the mind, a few board games and puzzles can be found under living room TV. The Queen Bedroom shares the full bath in the hall containing a walk - in shower, no tub. Just up the stairs are a full size washer and dryer and just beyond is the King Master with Vaulted Ceiling, a private balcony and the biggest bubble bath tub you can ever imagine! * Floor covering is ceramic tile in most of the unit with carpeting in the bedrooms. *We have grilling supplies located in the pantry closet but only grills at the common grounds area at the pool can be used. We are adjacent to the state park which offers access to boat launch, kayaking in calm waters, fishing and unspoiled beaches. Nearby Apalachicola will entice you with fine dining, boutiques, galleries, antiques, a dog park, and beautiful parks . Be sure to visit the farmers market in Apalachicola. Farm fresh vegetables, jams, breads, fresh off the boat seafood, and local artisan crafts. Bring your fishing gear for world class surf casting or book a charter with one of the excellent local guides. Note: Ocean Mile Supports The Leave No Trace Ordinance. All Beach Gear Must Be Removed From The Beach By 9pm During Turtle Nesting Season. (May 1st Through Oct 31st) NOTE: Technology is ever-changing and paving the way for EV's (Electric Vehicles). If you plan on bringing an EV, please be aware that there are no charging stations on the island and our unit is not equipped with an EV charger. Please ask manager for information on where and how to charge your EV. ****OCEAN MILE HAS A 2 DOG LIMIT PER UNIT ****** ***** NO EXCEPTIONS. ******* *******ALL DOGS MUST BE ON LEASH AT ALL TIMES ****. ********WHEN OUTSIDE UNIT***************************** ABSOLUTELY NO FIRE WORKS AT 300 OCEAN MILE ARE ALLOWED. **We recommend purchase travel insurance for your stay in case of emergency medical situations, named hurricanes which result in mandatory evacuations of the island or other "life happens" events. No monies will be refunded for cancellations until we can re-book your dates for the same rental rates and dates. Please ask property owner/manager for more information.

Our stay at this condo was amazing. My husband’s family has been vacationing at St. George island for over 40 years, this was our 14th year most of which we chose to stay at the 300 ocean mile condos. Love the location and set up of the unit, ease of enjoying the beach and community pool with our children and extended family. This condo was great many updates have recently been completed. Unit was clean, checkin and stay was easy. The owner was friendly and communication was wonderful during our month long stay. We have many memories here and look forward to returning each year to make more. This is a great condo I would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.

We love SGI and we really enjoyed staying at thi location, we were steps from the beautiful beach and so close to the State Park! Great vacation!

This was a great feat away for us! We did have to evacuate early due to the hurricane, but the property manager was super helpful and communicated with us the whole time. The unit was perfect and had what we needed for a perfect vacation. We look forward to a future trip soon!

It was hard finding an ocean front/view beach property that allowed us to bring our over 50LB dog, this townhouse was perfect. Loved the bungalow feel to the property, the townhouse was cozy and comfy, my children were able to come and go as they pleased to and from the beach. We had plenty of space for our family of 5.

Nice spot but the condo is in bad need of new windows so you can see the view and open them when the air is off. The ad should mention the number of stairs. Plus there is no toaster that we could find. People were very friendly and the grounds are well taken care of..

This condo was a great fit for our family of 4- we love St. George, especially this area near the state park, and we enjoyed our stay. The property manager was extremely responsive and easy to work with.

Location and property are good, but the unit itself is in serious need of updating of the furnishings and interior fixtures. Pricey for the condition of the unit as is.
Only room to park one vehicle on site. Exterminator needs to be called.

Excellent Stay at our Favorite Island
We enjoyed our stay at 300OM J-9 again this year. It's a comfortable place with everything you need. There was a bit of an issue with cleanliness (we found several roaches), but we just washed all the dishes again that we planned to use and left all our food in the fridge and it wasn't that big of a deal. We have stayed here twice and there is some wear and tear on the unit, but it's comfortable and perfect for a relaxed beach trip. We will definitely return.

We enjoyed our stay here immensely. The other residents we ran in to were either vacationers like us or fairly friendly full time residents. The morning and evening beach walks with the dog were great.
The rental itself was cozy but needed some outside lights and a new screen for the door wall. Although not too friendly for handicapped, we found it fully stocked with all the amenities. The spare room TV did not get cable as is suggested in the ad.
Beware the railings. We all took splinters with us.
Sammy the host was polite and friendly in his correspondence and helpful.

This unit is in a great location on the east end of SGI. It is 1 neighborhood away from the state park. it is a 2 bedroom unit and very roomy. it looks like it has had some renovations in the 1/2 bathroom and with furniture in various rooms, the master suite and living room. We had a few snafus at the beginning of our stay but after that we did not have any issues. We had a delay getting into our unit initially. We arrived 20 min early and the cleaning ladies were just getting there and told us we couldn't get in. I did contact the owner who was very quick to respond. We did have to wait an hour to get in. He did offer us a later than usual check out to make up for the confusion. The kitchen dishwasher was full when we arrived and we did not know if the dishes were clean or not so we ran the dishwasher to be safe. We did find one pan in the cabinet that was not washed and had crusted macaroni in it. I did let the owner know and he was very apologetic.The unit has a good view of the ocean from the living room and the upstairs master. it looks like all of the cabinetry has been painted and new hardware put on in the baths and kitchen. The furniture was clean and decor looked nice. I hope the owners will continue to renovate this unit with perhaps upgraded sinks in the bathrooms and tilework in the baths. It has a lot of potential. The 1/2 bath looks very nice since the renovations. The hose outside for washing off feet needs to be replaced. It was not working b/c it had a lot of holes in it. The deck and deck furniture were very nice and so was the gate that is on the deck to keep children and dogs from going down the stairs. This complex is very quiet. It has A LOT of stairs so if you can not do stairs this is not for you. It is easy to get to the beach too.The boardwalk to the beach is easy to navigate. It's not too far to get to it and it has had some improvements too. I would recommend they put a solar light on the stairs going into the main entry as it is very dark at night as we had a hard time seeing the stairs in the dark. I'd recommend also getting the hose replaced in the back of the unit too.

My family and I have been coming to St. George for years and have always preferred staying on the quieter East end of the island. Thankfully this condo was available for Labor Day weekend at a great rate! It has everything you need for a relaxing beach vacation!

Lovely beach
Perfect location on St. George Island. Property was comfortable and suitable for our one-week stay. Enjoyed the pool and grounds were very well-kept. Lots of stairs, so wouldn’t be appropriate for anyone with mobility issues.

We had a great week. It is one property away from the park. About four miles to the center of town. There were lots of books and games and movies. Full set of dishes and kitchenware which was great, Keurig and drip coffee pot, no staples except salt, plenty of towels, very nice stack w/d (bring own supplies), huge master b/r, use bathmat getting out of large soaking master tub...it is quite slippery,
The cleaning wasn't great and the freezer smelled like fish so I called and they sent someone back to deal with freezer. Then discovered no trash bags and a couple of times said they'd bring some but they didn't.
We rented gear (great BIKES!!!!, chairs, umbrella, ...) from Vaykgear.com. Seamless and good prices.
Pool only has umbrellas at tables BUT if you rent your own umbrella and bring zip ties, you could attach an umbrella to the fence so you don't have to lounge in the sun. BUT, the beach is much better than the pool anyway.

Great week in this place

great base camp
The condo was a perfect home base! Our boys had breakfast on the porch looking at the waves, played in the sand and water, rinsed and made their way into the pool, then back to the waves to fully wear themselves out - with some BJ's pizza enjoyed during breaks! Sadly, we were only there for 3 nights but will definitely be back!
Finally, and all properties manage this differently so not issue but just a heads up, bring your own toiletries and clothes washing detergent - they only provide soap for washing and dishwasher pods, nothing else.

I was a little leery about renting a townhome vs a house. However our experience was wonderful. Ocean Mile is the perfect location — close to the state park for shelling and fishing, just steps to the never crowded beach and pool, at the east end so quiet and relaxing. The other people staying there varied from young couples to senior couples to young families. Everybody was friendly, yet gave you your “space”. The pool and grounds were very well maintained. The townhouse kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pots and pans etc. — even a large stock pot, etc. The only issue we had was that the coffee pot quit working. I contacted the property manager and his staff person delivered a new one to us. We will definitely be back.

My husband hurt his arm on splintered railing. Unit could use a major upgrade in bathrooms. Tub was so high and wide I couldn’t step over side and we had to use shower on 2nd floor. Place was quiet, people were friendly. Beach was nice. But not really worth what we paid for it

We had no internet and TV for the first 3 days. Then only 1 tv worked , internet was spotty
