About this cabin rental
We have taken these measures for your safety during the Covid 19 pandemic: We have removed decorative bed linens and replaced them with linens that can be laundered with hot water and bleach. It may not look as woodsy, but we are thinking about our guests safety. If you use any extra linens or the air mattresses, please leave them out so we may sanitize them. We have cleaned and sanitized with antibacterial cleaners and bleach in all areas. We have provided hand sanitizer and antibacterial soap. Our mountain home sleeps 8 to 14 people . It is located at the end of a cul de sac and is bordered on two sides by the Black Hills National Forest. You can sit on the deck and hear the birds and watch the chipmunks play tag. Deer, turkey and coyotes are frequent visitors. This is the place to get away from it all and declare you are in Hog Heaven. This home features 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths. There are two living areas as well as a full kitchen and dining area. The loft area features a master bedroom with king bed and bath with a walk in shower. The main level of the home has two bedrooms. One with a queen size bed and the other with a king size bed. The larger room has access to a private deck. The main floor bath room has a tub/shower combination. The kitchen and main living area are on this level. The sofa can be converted to a bed. There is a full kitchen and dining area with seating for 14. Most utensils and appliances are included along with some staple food items. French doors take you to the main deck where you can enjoy the best view for miles around. The lower level features a walk out deck with hammocks to enjoy a book or take a nap in the gentle breeze. The lower level bedroom features a king size bed. The lower level bath includes a tub/shower combination. Enjoy a movie and pop corn from the pop corn maker or play some board games or do a puzzle in the living area on this level. There are two queen sized air beds available also. A fire pit is located on the main level by the parking area. It has been sanctioned by the US Forest Service. Please use common sense when you use it according to the fire danger at the time you visit. Take a hike up the forest service trail and arrive at the top of the mountain for a view of the Hills that is hard to beat! We love our mountain get away and hope you will too.

This home was absolutely perfect for our family vacation to the Black Hills region. It's a beautiful setting with great views from the patio and the fire pit is perfect for evenings. The home itself is incredible. Everything about it was top notch and it all felt brand new. Would highly recommend!

Love the cabin
Love the location
When booking the cabin I missed the part regarding no air conditioning, but the fans helped with that
Nature left it’s scent so we were unable to use the lower level due to the smell, that would of also helped with having no air conditioning

2 parents and 5 kids. We just finished a 5 night stay here and loved our first time visiting the Black Hills. We did all the usual stuff nearby and loved coming back to our cabin each night. Quiet and relaxing with amazing stars at night and lightning shows! The rock hill to the left of the cabin is so cool! It's an easy 5 minute hike but watch your step! Our favorite things: Horatio's Ice Cream ( we went 3 times), Black Hill Burger and Bun (so good!), Begging Burrow Mexican restaurant, Needles Hwy, Cathedral Spires hike, Rankin Ridge Hike in Wind Cave NP, Devils Tower and Mammoth Site. This is a beautiful cabin away from other people. We enjoyed our stay very much. It was stocked well with lots of basic needs. When we ran low on water, the truck was on its way when I called the property owner and he had us up and running again. Definitely would recommend Hog Heaven.

We had four couples and everyone had their own space. We all enjoyed the scenery and location of this home the deck was everyone’s favorite. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils. Our host was very helpful and responded to all our needs.

We spent Thanksgiving weekend here with our two grown children and it was perfect for us. It had everything we could ever need or want. Carol was super easy to work with and the cabin was so clean. We had such an amazing weekend out in the Black Hills (the weather was perfect too) and hope to come back and stay again sometime.

This was a beautiful, well appointed home high in the black hills . The wrap around decks provide expansive views atop the pine trees. Perfect seclusion and black skies perfect for night star viewing.

We loved Hog Heaven! Great house and location for our group of friends. We loved the secluded location, roominess and great view. Full kitchen was appreciated as we had breakfast and dinner at the house. The firepit was perfect for us to sit around in the evening and relax after hiking all day. Close to Custer State Park, many hiking trails, tourist attractions, food and drinks. We were even able to hike up to watch the sunrise. Breathtaking! And so appreciated that our dog was able to stay with us.

We got ahold of Carol who got ahold of her neighbor to plow. Renters beware!!!! Either Carol is a liar or housekeeper is a liar! Or both are liars and scammers!!! Carol if you needed $200 that badly how about just charging me upfront instead of being untruthful about how your place was left. I have rented other places and have never been accused of leaving a place dirty!! Karmais coming for you!! I pray God forgives you for your sin of cheating and being untruthful in your dealings with people!

We just returned from our four nights staying in Hog Heaven! It was perfect for our group: two grandparents, and a family of five, both from Colorado, and another family of three from Southern California. Only the two grandparents had ever visited Rushmore or the Black Hills before, and both had come only when they were kids. On our three full days, we enjoyed excursions to Mount Rushmore (40 min.), Deadwood (90 min.), and gorgeous Sylvan Lake (40 min.).
The house was immaculately clean and very spacious on all three levels. The four kids (two teens and two pre-teens) loved having the downstairs all to themselves while the two parenting couples used the ground-floor bedrooms and the grandparents stayed in the spacious master suite in the loft.
One of our two favorite things about Hog Heaven was the large comfortable campfire circle which we enjoyed on two evenings (once with campfire songs accompanied by guitar, mandolin, and ukelele). The other was a large modern barbeque on the deck, which is not mentioned in the VRBO overview and which one of the dads employed to everyone's appreciation and applause.
The early September temperatures were a little warm in midday, but perfect mornings and evenings. (Hog Heaven does not have air conditioning, but does have many effective ceiling fans.)
The three cooks in the family said how much they appreciated how well the kitchen was stocked with dishes and other things useful for preparing meals. We all noticed how nicely the bedrooms were appointed and supplied with extra blankets, pillows, etc.
Overall, our whole extended family highly recommends Hog Heaven!

Offers a mountaintop experience if you’re willing to hike the trail into the Black Hills National Forest. Your home provided a place for the family to gather for a meal together and refuel to venture out to the various monuments nearby. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Thank you for a lovely place to call home for a week.
