1926 Georgian Home Gives A Slice Of Small Town Living
About this house rental
Situated in Waynesville, this attractive house for £185 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Two story brick Georgian home built in 1926 with five bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths that can sleep up to 12 people. One bedroom with a king bed downstairs with a handicap accessible bath. Four bedrooms and two full baths upstairs. Master bedroom has a king bed and a full bath. Other bedrooms contain 2 queen beds and one with two twin beds. Each bedroom is large and it's own little retreat so family members have a comfortable place to get away and relax. The sofa in the living room also folds out to sleep an additional 2 people if needed. The home is tastefully decorated with vibrant colors and original artwork. There's a large backyard (unfenced) that provides ample room for cookouts and family get togethers. The kitchen is extremely functional and sunny along with being quite well stocked. The dining room seats 10 comfortably and we've fit 16 in for holiday dinners. There's an outdoor seating area for 12 which includes an outdoor dining table and chairs for 6. We have a grill for cookouts as well. The home is conveniently located in town and within walking distance of the village of Hazelwood. It's a 1 minute drive to downtown Waynesville or the golf courses at the Waynesville or Laurel Ridge Country Clubs and a 10 minute drive to Lake Junaluska. Asheville is a 30 minute drive east and The Great Smoky National Park a 30 minute drive west. While it's an older home with all the charm and character that offers, we installed a new geothermal HVAC system in 2013. This keeps the house extremely comfortable and evenly heated or cooled. We also replaced most of the plumbing in 2014 and installed an instant hot water heater. This insures there's a continuous supply of hot water, even for the 10th shower along with good water pressure throughout the house.

Roomy home with character ready for your family get together! Five minutes from local diner in Hazelwood, and highway connections. 20 min walk to restaurants and bars in downtown Waynesville. Nice neighborhood. Backyard living space a plus!

This house is amazing. The history is awesome. We enjoyed everything about our trip. The floor in the kitchen has separated some and needs minor repairs. Other than that, it's great.

We loved being able to have the group together, instead of spread out in different hotels. The patio is amazing!

For an older property it is nicely kept and decorated! We would recommend replacing the rubber threshold at the back door, as we tripped over it several times. Also the towel rack and toilet paper holder in the main bedroom were loose. We video taped the inside of the house before moving anything in.

We loved this house! Built in 1926 it has aged well. It has great character and has been modernized in important areas. The sitting area in the yard was such a beautiful spot and a great place to gather with friends and family. We have already booked our stay for next year.

Great House in Waynesville
We stayed in the beautiful two-story house for a week while visiting family. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our family. Huge backyard was fun for bird and groundhog watching and was a great place to play croquet (have to bring your own set). Great covered deck to hang out in rocking chairs and chat and BBQ. Kitchen was fully stocked with many everyday needs. Within walking distance of coffee, treats and breakfast options. Would definitely stay here again.

Our party of 9 (plus 3 dogs) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Richeson House. We found the property large enough so that everyone could find a quiet corner when they wanted but with several common areas (kitchen, den, and the fantastic covered back patio) so that we could all be together for meals and games. The house was super convenient to so many services including restaurants (Haywood Smokehouse is an absolute must), grocery store (Ingles was very impressive), high quality yet affordable coffee (Smoky Mountain Coffee Roasters a couple of blocks away), and a great used book store (Friends Used Books) just a few minutes away. Asheville and the Smoky Mountains were a short drive away. The house had everything we needed and we truly felt at home. My parents (in their mid-70's and with limited mobility) found the downstairs king and walk in shower/bath just perfect for them. The vintage furniture throughout the house was so attractive and we loved the roll-top desk as a centerpiece in the entryway. We would love to make a return visit and would recommend this property to anyone. Thank you so much for a lovely week!!

Cozy, Family Home
We were in town for a family funeral and needed a place that could accommodate adults and children of various ages. This home provided space for both group activities and more personal conversations.
We also desired a cozy, comfortable, home-like environment. This house met all these needs.
We found it to be just as described in the VRBO listing. Although the early spring temperatures didn’t allow for use of them, the back yard and covered patio are terrific features of this property.

A wonderful location for our family get together and there was plenty of room to spread out, indoors and out. Everything we needed was there. Beds were comfy and towels plentiful. The washer and dryer was a real plus. Highly recommend this rental

Great stay!
This was a beautiful house! There was a lot of cool history to learn about. You can easily get lost, but that is okay because you will stumble upon history throughout. I definitely recommend! My family really enjoyed staying here.

Fall Wedding
My husband and I wanted to find a location that would be perfect for our wedding reception. We got married at Miss Caroline's in Maggie Valley and had a beautiful backyard reception at Dan's. I loved my ceremony, but wish I would have had the entire event at Dan's home. I was worried about possible rain. Dan's home is spacious and allows for a big group of family or friends to be comfortable. There are a few things that I would change pertaining to the home. The carpet needs a deep cleaning. It wasn't a big deal to me, but noticeable. The place would be amazing if he had some updated things inside of the home. I enjoyed my time and I would definitely rent his home again.

This property was perfect for us! Our side of the family was able to stay together in a single location for our wedding that was literally, 2 miles from the wedding venue. (Wonderful Yellow House wedding!) The house was very comfortable with plenty of room for all. We loved the outdoor seating and our granddaughter (4) enjoyed the half time show at the football game next door. A little extra entertainment! Waynesville is a great town and we loved this house and its history.

Family Vacation
It was 11 of us in our party. The house was beautiful. I love old houses and have always wanted to own one. At least I got to stay in one. The only thing I didn't like was that there were no old beds in the house. They were all new. I would have like to have slept in an old 4 poster bed like back in the day. Other than that, everything was wonderful. The property manager Donna was great. Answered all my questions Hope we left it in great shape.

We visited Waynesville to attend a wedding at the Laurel Ridge Country Club. We had a delightful stay at this beautiful family home!! The house has tremendous bright energy and was spotlessly clean. The owners have put together a fantastic “house book” that provides information on dining and attractions in the area. We used it and enjoyed several outings – in particular, we enjoyed Boojum Brewery and Frog Level Brewery. We are a family that loves to cook, so we were pleasantly surprised to find an incredibly well-appointed kitchen available for our use! There is also a large family dining room and a cute kitchen table, so we were able to make a big family breakfast and enjoy hanging out together. The outside seating areas and adjacent gardens are beautiful and lush. Perfect for hanging out with a book and a coffee, or a cocktail. Last thing to mention…the beds are so comfortable, and the water pressure great for long hot showers! I hope we can visit again!

Convenient to town, great for events and large families!
Absolutely love this beautiful and historic home! It was our home away from home for 5 days. We hosted our son's rehearsal dinner for his wedding outdoors and had lots of comfortable space for our guests. Beautiful yard and landscaping. This home is well-stocked for events and many guests. Thank you!
