Cozy beach cottage near Port Townsend!
About this house rental
Situated in Whidbey Island, this charming house for £205 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Welcome to a perfect place to get away from the busyness and relax! This cozy home has two bedrooms (each with a queen bed and one with an additional twin), one bathroom, a nice sized kitchen with dining area, and roomy living room. Off the kitchen is a double sliding door that opens to a large deck overlooking the bay. Down a flight of stairs, you will discover a peaceful 12x12 deck where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or lunch on the picnic table. Down another flight of stairs will bring you to our fire-pit just a few steps from the beach where you can read a book or take long walk down the beach in either direction. At the far end is a county park and with the proper permits you can clam, fish and crab. Our view contains amazing sunrises, graceful eagles, seasonal seals, loons, osprey, occasional boat traffic and constant beauty. We are nestled from the weather in a quiet bay off the Puget sound. The house is stocked with games, puzzles, a few books, a TV in the living room, and WiFi for your devices. We hope you can come to enjoy a book, a paddle, a s'more, a walk at low tide to see what lies under rocks, a game with loved ones and let stress melt away. There is an excellent restaurant (Ajax Café), 24-hour QFC, bagel shop, coffee and hardware store (for all your fishing needs) 5 minutes away. We are on the Olympic Peninsula so day trips to explore the mountains, pacific coast or rain forest are ideal. Two great retired naval forts are 10 and 20 minutes away, they are great places to hike, explore and enjoy yummy ice cream. Port Townsend is 20 minutes away with great shopping, more restaurants, farmers markets, festivals and theaters.

This rental is adorable and the views were AMAZING!
We love that the rental had 3 sleeping areas. It's a two bedroom, but there is a 3rd spot with a cute twin-sized daybed. It was perfect for what we were looking for!

This property was our little slice of heaven for four nights and if we could have stayed longer we would have!
Adorable decor, comfy couch and beds. Sizeable kitchen and bedrooms. BUT the sunrises!!! Left us speechless! You don’t even have to go outside to enjoy them ! The sun rises directly across the water within view of every window facing it ! Absolutely gorgeous! The location is ideal because it’s quiet and relaxing out of the way of the busy downtown but close enough that even just going to eat takes only ten minutes!
The hosts are patient and quick to respond to any questions!
Can highly recommend this unit to stay in without hesitation!

I struggle with sharing because it might get difficult to book. If you like feeling right at home, visit this cozy cottage decorated by a very tasteful beach hobbit. The effect is of a calming love hole with a view entirely without noise or nonsense.

We loved staying at this beach house! The views are amazing and being right on the beach was such a treat for our kids, who loved digging in the sand and looking for crabs at low tide. Everything was very clean and well-stocked. Highly recommend!

Beautiful cottage with everything you need. Very well stocked kitchen. Can't say enough good things about the cottage but THE VIEW!. 180 degree view of the Sound. Will be coming back for sure.

We rented this wonderful cottage for three nights in late March. It is perched on the beautiful quiet, Oak Bay just a bit south of Port Hadlock, looking across at Indian and Marrowstone islands.
The star of the show is the constantly changing light on the bay and the birds, ducks, eagles, otter and Dall’s porpoises that delighted us.
The cottage itself met all our needs and we would happily return again. We also highly recommend a dinner at the Ajax Cafe in Port Haddlock (they serve dinners only on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. Reservations are a good idea there.

We loved the view and access to the beach at this beach house. Checking in and out was easy. We enjoyed the fire pit, the corn hole game, and the binoculars. The property is close to Forts Flagler and Wardlow and Port Townsend. There is a easy and beautiful trail to the Ludlow Falls just 12 minutes away. Hanna Hanna Falls and Rocky Point Falls are both within 1.5 hour drive.

This beach/bayfront home is simply perfection! All of the furnishings, special touches, and views are spectacular. We didn't want to leave after spending two days on the decks and beach overlooking the bay. The birds and wildlife were amazing. Loved the quiet setting and neighborhood, as well as the entire set up of the home. Every room had an amazing view of the water and beach. We hope to be able to visit and stay here again in the future!

Our family of 5 (parents and 3 kids ages 9-14) enjoyed our vacation here. The house is very well stocked with amenities, including the kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the location was convenient for exploring the peninsula. Only slight negative was that there was quite a bit of algae in the water so the kids were disappointed that they couldn't go in, but I imagine that's not a problem for older guests. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Cute cottage but not three bedrooms, needs a few fixes
The house is a great beach spot and the owners are very kind and generous. The house however, is not three bedrooms as listed, it’s two bedrooms with a daybed on a landing at the top of the stairs just outside the main bedroom. This should be updated in the listing so people know. With little kids we need a door so they are contained and can go to sleep. Also it’s very tight on space we had to rearrange cupboards and shelves to fit in our food in the kitchen. Suggest providing an alternative to the Kierig coffee pot. The refillable k cup didn’t fit in the model of Kierig they have. Sliding door to outside deck doesn’t lock so we had to tie it shut at night so kids didn’t escape. Owners kindly offered to send someone to look at it but we asked to wait since we created a temporary solution and didn’t want to spend our vacation working on fixing it. Bathroom sliding door is very heavy and slides fast and we all pinched our fingers in it. House could use a little love to fix these minor issues. Great sandy beach and lots of fun toys and great fire pit with wood. Lots of awesome tidepooling right out front. We did notice the smell of the port Townsend pulp mill many of the days and the sulfur dioxide smell of pulp processing is rather unpleasant. We noticed it about 8 days of the 10 days we were there. Overall a great week but making some space in the kitchen and fixing the bathroom and sliding door would improve future visits. Thanks for sharing your house with us!

A deeply restorative experience.
I loved staying here. The owners have gone above and beyond with all the kitchen supplies and decorations throughout the house making the home feel inviting and comfortable. I used the upstairs bedroom and I slept so well each night and I loved waking up to the gorgeous view of the bay. In the evenings, I enjoyed sitting on the back deck taking in how beautifully tranquil the setting is. This is a special house!

Delightful cabin feeling home with wonderful views!
The house is very cute. It's a little older and feels like a cabin at the beach. The decor is beachy and a little country, comfy and casual. Very clean, kitchen nicely equipped. I only used the main floor bedroom and the bed was really comfortable, the linens very nice. Wonderful and spacious deck overlooking the water, with comfy furniture and a nice grill to use. Lots of birds to watch, including Bald Eagles and Osprey in the distance. Neighborhood was quiet and easy to get to. The beach looked inviting and easy to access, the weather just didn't cooperate to entice me to explore. Next time!

This is a lovely property, directly on the beach, with gorgeous views from every room. The owners are terrific -- very communicative and responsive, and the house has everything you need - and more. The location is perfect, with a QFC just five minutes away, and short driving distances to Port Townsend and Sequim. This was our second visit -- and certainly not our last.

The location and property are just right for the avid beachcomber. The view is gorgeous, and there’s beach readily available to walk at low tide and wildlife viewing (eagles and seals). The hosts are communicative, and added all the extra touches like a stocked pantry, first aid and toiletries, and a wide array of kitchen appliances and utensils.

The setting is wonderful - watching the tide come and go out magical. Reminding of the many decades of coming to the spit. For 5 seniors - late 70's and 80's, the accommodations were a bit challenging. Our kids and grandkids would be just fine. Shower and fluffy towels are wonderful. The overall kitchen is fine. Recommend: A spring cleaning of drawers and cabinets. Stove top seemed a bit tricky and as a result pans suffered. Grateful for dishwasher! We can well imagine fabulous beach days in summer and using the outside grill.

Julie and Andrew are thoughtful, communicative hosts. They responded quickly and were accommodating during my extended stay. They truly thought of everything, and the kitchen is well-appointed!
Beyond that, the Sandcastle has an incredible view of the bay with great bird watching, star-gazing, and sunrises.
It’s just a 6 min drive to Chimacum store and Finnriver Cidery and farm and a 20-min commute into Port Townsend. Fort Flagler is about a 15 min drive or a beautiful bike ride away. 25 min to Port Gamble mountain bike/hiking trails, and a fantastic jumping off point to countless other trails on the Peninsula!
It’s just as easy to stay in and enjoy the view or, I can imagine, a great place to paddleboard or kayak.
I had a memorable experience and would highly recommend staying here!
