The house is in a great location with tons of beach space. However, the house layout is difficult for multi-family stays. The beds are rocks and the gigantic porch has no significant furniture.

The house was beautiful and the walk to the beach was easy. The rooms were set up well. One Queen room did not have a bathroom and the beds were not super comfortable but we made do. The area was fantastic and close to groceries and shopping. We easily traveled to the 4x4 Carolla beach and found the wild horses. The beach for the property was very secluded and only our area used it which was nice because it was not overly crowded and we were able to spread out and relax. We loved our stay! The only thing that we wished for was to be right on the beach and be able to see the ocean but we knew that coming into it and for the price it was great.

Our experience with the property management was great. They were very responsive and check in/out was seemless. The house over met our expectations, if there was anything I could recommend would be upgraded tvs, cable, and improved beds...but we know we are at the beach and it was an amazing trip. Ty

Great property
This was our third time in Corolla, NC and we found this home to be really close to beach access and close to shopping, and things to do. The house was very nice and appeared to be updated recently. The bedrooms were all comfortable and the view from the deck allowed us to watch the sunrise with our morning coffee over the ocean. This was a very comfortable home to be in for the week.

Beach access is convenient with no hwy crossings and we had a really nice sand bar at low tide that was great for enjoying the water as it kept the waves at bay. Layout of house is good and the bathrooms and kitchen have nice stone and ceramic surfaces. Will definitely consider again for future stays.

Spacious Beach House
The beach house was spacious and clean, even if a bit wore down from use. The few issues we had, Maintenace fixed directly and pleasantly. House accommodated all of us quite well. The walk to the beach was easy. We rented bikes that were fun to ride in the small neighborhood. The stretch of beach at the end of the walkway was beautiful and not too crowded, even though Corolla and Duck were very crowded. The beach house could definitely use some work on the decks, rails, and outside staircases. Overall, was a great beach week with family and friends.

Wonderful property
The house was everything as advertised. Clean, spacious and a short walk to the beach. Very short drive to the town which had plenty of shopping, eating, and activities. Overall wonderful stay and we will be back

Kids had stayed in room one night when mold was found. Rental company answer that day was we will get back to you. So two days later, after calling at least 4 to 5 times a day with same response. A contractor was sent out to check mold. He said it was bad and they would fix it the next day. We checked into a motel, once it was found to be as bad as it was.

This was our 4th year at Interlude, some updates are needed. Some dining chairs were broken, double bed in room @ top of stairs is very uncomfortable. Floors weren't clean upon arrival. TV in bunk bed room not working. Overall we LOVE the house and booked next year for the 5th year.

We have stayed in the Interlude for 5 years in a row. We love everything about it however in those years we have seen some decline . It is in need of some repairs and some TLC. Several lightbulbs were burnt out especially in the living room area. The weather stripping on the door to the deck off of the kitchen was loose and the toilet handle in the master bedroom was broken and needed to be held with 2 hands to flush. Also the toilet in the basement was loose on the floor and not really connected to the floor. We do the the Interlude and its a great location and very spacious and well stocked.

Someone has obviously put a lot of time and care into the upgrades to the house. The tile on the top floor is practical and beautiful, the bathroom tilework and shower heads are all luxurious, and the kitchen is spacious and practical. Walking in to the laundry and large bathroom on the lower level is so practical as well. The upper deck is a great place to bask in the sun. Although we did not have small children, it is a great place to put a little blow up pool and have kiddos run around. The view is great, and the location is great. A nice bonus is really efficient central air that kept us comfortable on those humid days. However, some minor investments would make a huge difference for guests. •Beds: We had trouble sleeping on the uncomfortable mattresses, particularly the queen beds. •Bedding: the polyester bedspreads are really outdated, smelly, and uncomfortable. All of the bedding smelled as if it had not been washed in a while, even the extra blankets in the closets. •Cleaning Service: While the house is tidy, it is not clean at all. The cabinets are really filthy, the master bathroom smells like a moldy locker room, and the couches were full of sand. The refrigerator smelled like old seafood, the walls are speckled with spattered bug guts, and the windows and screens need cleaning. All of this is cleaning staff oversight or neglect. •Porch furniture: The furniture on the screened in porch is literally unusable. When you sit on it, your butt sinks to the floor. It is also really dirty on the porch. I looked forward to drinking coffee or reading out there, but it was not possible. •Repairs: The oven needs temperature calibration or perhaps even replaced. Baking at 350, it burned cookies, cinnamon rolls, and lasagna at the recommended bake time. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Interlude, not allowing a little dirt to ruin our stay. This was a beautiful house but it is in need of some cleaning and repair. Since it is the beginning of summer vacation season, I would expect the carpet to be clean. There is a broom in the house but no dustpan. We bought a dustpan and left it for the next guests. There is a vacuum that does not work. It was difficult to keep the floors clean with small children. The doormat at the top level door and the small area rug are filthy and need to be cleaned or replaced. The weather stripping on the top deck door needs to be secured. We had to fit it into the door every time we opened or closed it. The outdoor shower does not work and needs to be enclosed for privacy. Light bulbs should be replaced at the beginning of the season. Some of the bulbs are burned out. Upholstered furniture needs to be cleaned. The kitchen chairs are repulsive.

We were able to get a great deal on a last minute reservation two weeks before our vacation. The location is great-- we spent the entire week at the beach; and even when we had a thunderstorm, the upper level of the house offered a fantastic view of the storm! Loved it. Some of the wood decking on the steps needs to be replaced, but you can tell they try to keep up with the maintenance of a house. Wish it didn't take so long to get up Rt 12 on a Saturday.

This is the 4th year we rented from Shoreline OBX and stayed in the same house. We love it and are very happy with our stay. Our 1 complaint this year is that we waited for a call from Shoreline to let us know that the property had been cleaned and was ready for us to go in. We NEVER received a call. We waited until about 4:30 ( 1/2 hour past check in) and still were never called. I tried to call but no one answered, so we just went to the property and went in. After traveling all night and going to breakfast and grocery shopping, my family was SO ready to be out of our car and in our home. I'm not sure where the miscommunication happened, but was displeased with our check in.

We enjoyed our stay at Interlude very much. Loved the deck on top and the screen in porch outside the bedrooms. The multiple bathrooms made life so easy. The walk to the beach wasn't that bad. Again, just the stairs over the dunes you have to be aware of if you have problems with that. And I personally loved that the houses weren't on top of each other. It was a nice week complimented by a nice place to stay.

Our extended family stayed in the house the 2nd week of August 2016. It was a great experience for everyone. The house is well suited for large families with 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. It would have been better if I had known that one of the full bathrooms was on a separate level from the rest of the living/bedroom levels. The house is 2 blocks from the beach. Be aware that this house has 3 floors that can only be accessed by stairs. If anyone in your party has hip or knee issues this is not the house for them. Also be aware that to access the beach you must climb 2 sets of stairs to climb over the dunes. The cleaning crew even helped us carry our bags of groceries into the house. The shower doors fell off one evening and the management sent out a very nice gentlemen to repair the doors. He gave out information regarding places we may have over looked to visit.

Everything was perfect except for the fact that the screens on the screened in porch were in terrible condition. One screen was completely missing while 3 others were in terrible shape. One of the reasons I rented this property was because the bugs are so bad on the OBX so was really disappointed to see the screened in porch was useless on arrival. I did call Shoreline right away (Sun morning) and they sent a screen guy out to re-screen them all on Tuesday and then everything was fine but they were so bad ya'll should have noticed this prior to my arrival.

We had a wonderful time in OBX. The house is fairly close to the beach but closer to the main road. When we go back next year, we would like to try and find something a little closer to the beach and possibly with a pool or hot tub. The only complaint we had was not with the house or its location, but with Shoreline OBX (rental company). We arrived on Saturday and one of the bathrooms on the second floor smelled so strongly of mildew that we had to keep the door closed. We reached out to Shoreline OBX via a maintenance request and they were non responsive. Also, we don't wear shoes in the house. So when we arrived to the house on Saturday afternoon and took off our shoes, our feet were black just from walking around inside. There was a card on the counter saying that the house had been cleaned but clearly they skipped the floors. It was very disappointing to feel like we were staying in a dirty house.

We love the Interlude. the property is spacious, clean and inviting. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. This year we explored some new restaurants and loved them. Captain George's Seafood Restaurant in Kill Devil Hills, The North Banks Restaurant in the Timbuck II shopping plaza in Corolla and High Cotton Barbecue in Kitty Hawk. And don't leave the Outer Banks without trying Duck Donuts....they're so delicious. The staff at Shoreline OBX is very helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend this realtor and property to a friend.
