About this house rental
House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 7) In compliance with City and County Of Honolulu Ordinance Section 19-18, our house is available to rent for a period of 30 days or more. Please contact the owner with any questions. By local law, the property cannot have other tenants during the 30-day term covered by this Agreement, but of course you may leave before the full 30 day rental period. PLEASE Contact the Owner with any questions whatsoever! Our tranquil north shore property directly across the street facing the world famous swimming and scuba nature reserve, shark's cove. (don’t let the name fool you, there are no sharks, but the cove has been rated one of the top 12 shore diving spots in the world by scuba diving magazine.) in the summer months the cove is a tropical paradise that provides some of the best snorkeling and swimming available on oahu. Thousands of excited tourists flock to this destination spot each year to experience its beauty and spiritually regenerative powers. In the winter witness waves crashing against the ancient lava throwing plumes of spray and making your vacation a hawaiian adventure filled with rainbows and often breaching whales. The property offers dramatic ocean views from the expansive deck and the home’s interior. Enjoy the year round dramatic pacific sunsets while you toss another prawn on the gas powered bar-be! Take a relaxing walk or take a stimulating bike ride on the fabled walking, running and bike path that takes you past the best surf spots in the world, pipeline, waimea beach and sunset beach included. Attend surf contests like the triple crown and the eddie aikau, at scheduled times during november through february months. The bike path begins right across the street and runs five miles. Take a short ride or stroll to the most stunning beaches and some of the most famous surf breaks in the world. The home is in a private tropical setting complete with hibiscus flowers and coconut palms and a large yard includes an outside shower. My hosts were absolutely fabulous! I can’t say enough great things about them. The home was just across the street from the beach and we were able to view the beautiful sunsets from our deck. The neighborhood was quiet and the house was perfect size for me and my two daughters. Family that lives in North shore came over for dinner a couple times and enjoyed the deck and the sunsets as well. We can’t wait to come back and stay again. Thank you so much Patty and Charles for your hospitality.

If you're looking for a condo level of amenities and building condition, you'll be let down... However, if you're happy sharing space with nature and are willing to be out of the way to an extent, this house will provide an incredible experience. We wanted nothing to do with the highly developed portions of the island and this house enabled that to become a reality. Patty was a wonderful host and we are already making plans to visit again!

This house is wonderful! The house’s location proximity to Shrak’s Cove, Waiamea beach, Foodland, food trucks, surfboard & bike rentals is absolutely amazing. Patty & Charles did a great job with the house and all of its amenities.
We really felt like we were staying at our own house. You do not need to buy any extra beach gears! Plenty of beach towels! There are beach toys for the kids, beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling gears. couple of soft beginners surfboard to paddle around.
The location is very safe. We walked to Pipe every morning to check out the surf.
We will definitely return Patty & Charles!

Ate breakfast every morning on the deck looking at the waves. Walked across the road to the beach to wade among the rocks and look for sea life. Lots of beach items available to use- boards, swim masks, life jackets, etc. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes. Plenty of room for small or larger groups. Would definitely stay here again.

I rented the house for four weeks, the location is excellent. Sharks Cove is beautiful and very private. The house was cute & spacious for six people. One bathroom made it interesting but we all went well. The outdoor area is great to cook out and relax and listen to the waves. The kitchen was big enough for us to cook dinners ,the living room was great to sit around and talk. Our host was great at communicating with us, and helping us with anything we needed looking forward to booking it again in the future the North Shore is the best place to get a real seal for the island

What a wonderful location, right across from sharks cove. Parking at beach is hard but you can walk there from this house. The outdoor shower was great after snorkling or diving. At night we would play games on the lanai. There is only 1 bathroom and there is a trick to getting ac to the whole house but once you figure that out everything ran smoothly. Thank you for the great memories.

This is a great place in a great location! Not only are you close to many attractions in the North Shore, but there are also many food trucks, a Foodland (grocery store) and you are near many beaches, not to mention Shark’s Cove (we saw so many fish there!).
We asked for a second pair of keys and Patty gave us one right away. We had everything we needed, from beach towels to kitchenware (and more).
One thing is that the bathroom kind of has this constant humidity smell, which is normal in Hawaii (we believe). Keep in mind it’s the countryside, too, so you might have some 6-legged visitors. But other than that, everything was great!

Best location ever! We spent time at sharks cove, three tables beach and the sandy beach just north of the house. Also loved that we could walk to the taco or snow cone shack and even the grocery store! Beautiful home!! Hope to be back soon!

We had an amazing stay! The house was well equipped with almost everything we needed. Plenty big enough for a family of 5 to stay comfortably. There were pots and pans, dishes, condiments in the kitchen. They even had sun screen in the bathroom for us to use. The location was the best part, directly across from Sharks Cove. It was perfect to be able to sit on the front porch and watch the sunset or walk across the street and watch from the shore line. The beds were comfortable and plenty of towels to use. We will definitely stay here again, mahalo!

This place is just perfect! There were 6 of us and we had plenty of space, wonderfully stocked with everything you might need or forgot to bring and that is not even the best part! The location of this house is AMAZING! We could walk out the door and in just a few steps be snorkeling with marine life galore! There wasn't a day that went by when we didn't swim with a turtle! That's not all! We could be on a beautiful sandy beach within a few min walk. Food trucks, grocery store, shopping all within minutes WALKING!! Waimea Bay 1 mile away (which our teens loved the jumping rock), Ted's Bakery, Sunset Beach, Waimea Falls, I could go on and on! We loved our stay here and the owners are so nice and helpful!!

We loved our stay at this home! The house was fully equipped from stocked kitchen to outdoor recreational items! The location was amazing!! We love the North Shore! Walking distance to snorkeling, grocery, numerous beaches, and food trucks. Patty the host was sweet and great to chat with!

Very well equipped vacation home in a truly spectator location at Shark’s Cove! The house easily accommodated our six people with room to spare. It has everything you could want for the beach, including beach chairs, snorkeling gear, body boards, surf boards, coolers and towels galore. The house was clean, the kitchen incredibly well equipped and the beds super comfortable. Patty and Charles were very nice and extremely accommodating. Better than everything else was the location…central to all the north shore has to offer and right across the street from a natural aquarium. Absolutely beautiful!

North Shore, for the most part, is raw and real... not glitzy. If you stay here, you're lucky... you get to live like the locals. For that reason, we truly enjoyed staying at Patty's place. The location of the house is hard to beat... it's spacious too. My kids enjoyed their rooms and the grassy area out-front, while us adults enjoyed the living space and lanai. The house is on Kam Hwy, and yes, there is traffic and car noise from time to time, but it's not bad. The peekaboo view of Shark's Cove supersedes any downside of being on Kam Hwy. With the awesome location, we were able to walk to Waimea, Pipeline, food trucks, grocery store, and more. Patty is a great host and she's always willing to go out of her way to make her guests happy.

This beach house was perfect for our family. It is close to the beach for snorkeling, the supermarket, food truck and surf spots. We could walk all around and to Waimea bay. A great patio area to gather around the BBQ. The owners were very welcoming and took care of our requests promptly. Definitely the best family spot on the north shore

While there were a few communication glitches, overall this was a beautiful return to a place we called home as children.
I would return again and intend to do so, if possible, in 2024.

was an awesome location across the street from Sharks Cove right next to Foodland grocery and liquor as well as some of the best food trucks on the island. For me location closest to the beach without breaking the bank is critical. This place was loaded with beach gear chairs umbrella boogie boards snorkel gear and even a couple of surfboards. The kitchen has ample amenities including a GAS BBQer. The yard had many mature foliage creating a tropical w0ith beach vibe we truly enjoyed.

In the heart of North Shore
For us, the best part of this rental was the location! Close to food trucks (our faves were North Shore Tacos and Seven Brothers), Foodland, and Pipeline, we couldn't have picked a better spot. Most mornings, we'd sit out on the large lanai, sipping our tea and listening to the waves in Shark's Cove across the street while the sun rose and the island got going. The lanai was also a great spot for yoga and working out. The house was very clean upon arrival. It was well-stocked with basic kitchen and personal care supplies, like shampoo, dish soap, and toilet paper. With the windows open, it was well-ventilated. While the house would feel stuffy when we'd close the windows and go out for a while, opening the windows and letting the breeze through quickly remedied that. The highway can be noisy during the day, but we had zero problems sleeping: the window air-conditioner provided white noise that drowned out any road noise and roosters. The living/dining room was spacious, and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking (except maybe a really sharp knife for chopping stuff up). Note that the 3rd bedroom does not have air conditioning (which is listed in the description), but the large window does open fully and have a screen on it and there's a ceiling fan. We were surprised by geckos and large bugs a couple of times (not something we have back home), so if critters bother you, you may want to consider different accommodations. Patty, the owner, was very friendly and helpful and answered the few questions we had. We had a fantastic month on Oahu and loved staying in the country instead of crowded Waikiki.

Do you want to live on the North Shore?
If you are looking to truly “live on the North Shore” this property has it all. Located in the heart of the North Shore with amazing beaches, snorkeling, food trucks and groceries all within walking distance. For those looking for a real and authentic experience this house is for you. If you are looking for resort life, a pool and isolation from the people who actually live and work in this place you should look elsewhere. If you want to live in a truly Hawaiian home with all of the elements of hawaiian life you’ve found the right place. Charles and Patty are the most amazing hosts and neighbors and will make sure you enjoy your time in their piece of island history.
Our family spent an entire month living at this home and found it to be the perfect escape and home. From waking up in the morning and strolling across the street to snorkel (nearly alone) in one of the most desired snorkeling and diving spots on the entire island (Shark’s Cove) to ending every day with a swim at Three Tables and watching the sunset from the porch, every day was perfect. You can plan a day trip to any place on the island, drive down to Haleiwa, walk to Waimea Bay or any number of world class beach/surf spots.
This property is a home. The kitchen is well stocked (don’t shop before you check to see what is already on the shelves). Beach toys and equipment are plentiful. The house is well laid out for family living with three bedrooms and a giant family room. Open the windows and turn on the fans to enjoy the tropical breeze (the air conditioning was great for the bedrooms at night). While one bathroom can be a challenge, with some communication and planning we had no problem. The outside shower is a must to wash up after a trip to the beach. The massive porch was the center of our days, with a picnic table, grill and wonderful spots to enjoy the view from sunrise to sunset and into the night.
If you want to experience the best of truly living on the North Shore I would recommend this property without reservations. Yes, there will be some traffic, because you are living in the middle of one of the most desired places to visit on the entire island. Yes, there are bugs (not too many) this is part of life in the tropics. Yes, the house has its quirks, you are staying in a home built over 80 years ago and lovingly cared for and remodeled. But nothing can beat the location, the people and the true experience that this property provides. Don't miss this opportunity.

Our group absolutely loved our stay on the North Shore at Patty and Charles's home! The location was excellent and being walking distance from the beaches and Foodland was very convenient, which eliminated the problem of weekend traffic getting to the beach! We also enjoyed sitting out on the spacious deck where we could grill and enjoy the sunset.
The home had everything we needed in the kitchen + sleeping accommodations were good especially in the 2 air conditioned rooms! Internet also held up for multiple individuals working remote simultaneously.
Would definitely stay again and highly recommend!

Amazing location and great hosts!
The location of this house was perfect! It's right across from Shark's Cove, right next to food trucks and Foodland, and a short walk to multiple beaches. The house has a beautiful yard and patio, a fully stocked kitchen, lots of beach towels and beach supplies, and was very spacious for the three of us that stayed there. Patty and Charles live right behind the house and were really responsive if we needed anything. I couldn't have asked for more gracious hosts!

The house was a good fit for the five people in my family. The host was excellent as well. The most remarkable feature of the property is the location. The house is located across the street from Shark's Cove. There is an ocean view from the covered porch. It is walking distance to a grocery store and food trucks.

We had a wonderful stay at Shark's Cove! It was a beautiful house and a great location. Perfect for our family and close to everything we desired. We had everything that we needed and more. We began planning our return trip as soon as we left. Patty was wonderful to work with and we would recommend this home to anyone coming the North Shore.

Easy!!!
Great house and a fantastic location. Patty and Charles were great to work with and available if we needed anything. From the booking to check-in to vacation, everything was easy and stress free. Being able to walk across the street to Sharks Cove or up to Sunset Beach along with all of the other great things within a few miles made things really enjoyable and minimized car time.
Thanks again Patty and Charles, we are looking forward to another visit!
