Location. In the heart of Matera.the terrace was overlooking the old city center, Sassi. Hosts. Thoughtful, helpful. Best breakfast of the trip. Complimentary wine glass on arrival.

The parking was a struggle, but note there is even an app to extend your parking time and pay. That is the little inconvenience for the gorgeous view and location.

It was a great location and Margherita was wonderful and the room was really nice.

The pillows were uncomfortable.

The location in one of the Sassis of Matera was central and perfect -- and interesting walks through the amazing scenery took us wherever we wanted to go in the town. Our host was very gracious -- she lives next door and made it clear that she would be available if there were any problems, and she helped arrange for a taxi to get us from and to our garage when we arrived and when we left (one cannot reasonably drive anywhere near the Sassi accommodations -- they are pedestrian areas with limited driving for deliveries, and so on -- a taxi can stop briefly). The room among the caves was bright-feeling and extremely well designed given it was not all that large -- the bathroom and shower were terrific. It all felt totally comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Breakfast was generous and very good. All in all we would definitely highly recommend this B & B.

There's a steep little stairway to get up to the room, but that wasn't really a problem -- and it's close to inevitable in the Sassis of Matera, with the amazing houses built into the cliff-sides. Our host helped us up the stairs with our luggage, in any event. So, this is really a minor thing -- just to let people know, if they have trouble with stairs. Actually, if one has trouble with stairs, it would be better not to stay in the Sassis, because there are uneven stone paths and stairs all over the place.

For visitors: Matera has poor taxi service so be prepared to go by two buses or try to get a taxi prebooked. I managed ok as I am fluent in Italian but may be tough otherwise

The locations is perfect. In the middle between the two sassi. The room is well renovated and very comftable. The best (!) is Margeritha, she is so carrying and her breakfast, her recommendations and her hospitality is just amazing! Thank you!

Only the refridgerator is a bit noisy in the night (if one is looking for improvement)

Wonderfully helpful, friendly and generous hospitality. We had everything we could need and all was very well-appointed and comfortable. Also a perfect spot from which to explore the amazing city of Matera.

Communication with Margarita was excellent and she's super lovely host and super caring, assisted my husband in carrying the luggage as I have a leg injury. Her hospitality was incredible and welcomed us with fresh apricots from her tree and prosseco. Rooms were super clean and nice, attention to details were immaculate and breakfast was rich too. Really best accommodation we stayed in Italy, we stayed only for 1 night, but would probably stayed longer. Perfect stay by all means

I spent four nights here. I loved every aspect of it. The room was a good size, comfortable, clean and quiet. The location in the historic center, Sasso Barisano, was ideal for me. I could easily access the hiking trails, get to the other Sassi area, and walk to very good restaurants, shops, sites, and interesting museums nearby. The breakfasts were outstanding and on a very nice terrace. But the best part was the host, Margherita. I've travelled for a long time to many places but she is the best host I've ever had, by far. Her attention and proactive service is beyond what I'd get at a 5-star hotel. She did whatever it took to make sure I had a great experience and I did. This started from before I arrived to after I departed. I'd ask about a restaurant or a post office or whatever, she shared recommendations and details, and she'd followup during the day to make sure it worked out for me. She simply cares about your experience and happiness. She is passionate about it. I'd highly recommend this place and would certainly stay here again the next time I'm in Matera. Thank you Margherita!

Nothing. Well, the breakfasts were great but there was too much for me to eat. I felt guilty either eating all of it or leaving anything behind. So, she encouraged me to take some for snacks during the day (and I did.)

The hostesses were so kind and considerate. They more than accommodated our dietary restrictions and the breakfast was always plentiful!

The hospitality was excellent, quality of the room was fantastic. Central location within Matera was also highly convenient. Breakfast was also included, alongside access to the mini bar.

Everything! clean, comfortable, beautiful room with a dramatic view of Sassi de Matera! A friendly and caring host, good communication, and an amazing brakfast! I came back to this place and I will do that again with my friends.

We were completely blown away by the host and our stay at this wonderful property. Location is excellent, host went completely over and beyond to make our stay comfortable and we generally cant recommend this place more!
