Such an amazing house! The view is incredible, the house is beautiful, and the owners were exceptionally kind when weather impacted our travel plans. Communication with the host was very quick and the house was thoughtfully stocked with everything you could need. This is one of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed and we hope to be back again soon!

It was a great place to get away for the weekend. Place was very clean and stocked. Property manager was very responsive to all communications.
Would definitely stay again

Moving clouds, changing light, and reflections on the water created breathtaking views of the mountains and lake from the living area and large deck. The home itself was clean, comfortable, modern, and well-appointed.
Hoodsport restaurants aren’t great; so plan to drive a bit for a good meal or plan to cook in the nice clean kitchen.

I booked a solo vacation for a few days to paint and get away from the city. To my dismay, the weather took a turn the week before my trip and I spent the first few days watching the rain from inside. Fortunately, this home has the COZIEST couches and one of the most gorgeous views I've ever had the pleasure of waking up to. Very quiet neighborhood and clear instructions for check in/out. Cell service was very poor in the area, so you might want to download a map of where you're going beforehand. Hoodsport, the nearest town, was great for amenities and some of the cheapest gas I've seen in WA. Gorgeous drive, can't recommend this stay enough!

This was a beautiful place. Great for a family weekend. The living room has lots of space to relax and enjoy the views from the large windows.
The kitchen had everything we needed.
It’s not too far from the Olympic National Park. We spent the morning one day doing a hike there.
One thing to note is the WiFi is limited. It’s well spelled out in the listing. I enjoyed not being constantly connected so this was a positive. But, would not be suitable for a work from home getaway. That being said, it was amazing how much time that freed up! We finished two puzzles together which was great.
Bottom line, highly recommend staying here.

Before you even get in the front door you are gobsmacked by the view! Stunning.
The house is super comfortable and the host has thought of everything; great bed linens, hair dryer, games, binoculars, s’mores supplies, kayaks and water floaties. The kitchen is well stocked. We didn’t need a thing. We loved lounging on the deck and appreciating that view.
Thanks for sharing your Lake House.

We just spent Labor Day weekend at Kim's amazing home. The view from the deck was unrivaled. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking on the lake. The steps are steep, but well worth the effort. The home is spacious and the beds are so comfortable. We loved being so close to the Olympic National Parks, and got some hiking in too. We hope to stay here again in the near future!

This house must have the best view of the Olympics on Lake Cushman! We love the huge deck and the large windows looking out over the lake. The beds were very comfortable and the newly remodeled bathrooms were terrific. The lake swimming was wonderful and the closeness to great hiking was a huge hit with my family!

I stayed at Samara Lake House for 5 nights with two families. It was perfect. Adults and kids had a great time swimming, exploring the lake on kayaks, cooking in the well-appointed kitchen, and enjoying sunset dinners on the deck. It was comfortable and perfect for a family vacation.
As others have said in their reviews, the wifi is not reliable here, so leave your work at home!

Over all the property is beautiful with incredible views of the lake. The trampoline for the kids was an added bonus! The only negatives were that the internet is slow and not always available (at least for more than 2 people at a time)
and the BBQ had not been cleaned. Despite these negatives, I would highly recommend this property.

The house was impeccably clean and well stocked with anything you might need during your stay such as games, kayaks, kids, toys, towels, toiletries. Nicely updated kitchen and bathrooms. The view from the deck and main living area is to die for! My only negative feedback: from the deck it is 100 stairs down to get to the lake and 100 back up, which proved difficult for the 2yo and the 66yo in our family. The dock is old and wooden, when it was wet it was extremely slippery, and I fell and broke my toe when trying to get a kayak from rack to lake. Fairly marked to “use at your own risk”, and accurately so! We would stay there again even though.

Absolutely stunning property on Lake Cushman.

This property exceeded our expectations. All aspects of the home were clean, comfortable & easy to use. We are all in our 50's, no kids on this trip.
Obviously the star of the stay was the location; absolutely stunning views of the crystal clear lake & mountains. Kayaks were easily accessible & in good condition. There is a staircase and an alternate path down to the dock. One day we chose to go to a nearby park with a fabulous swimming area/picnic tables/easy access to the water. Otherwise, we spent our days at this beautiful spot.
Kitchen/bathrooms are very well-stocked. One friend stayed on a pull out in the living room that had a blow up pillow top mattress pad=super comfortable! There is spotty Wi-Fi, which did not bother us; one friend needed to do some work & was able to accomplish his tasks as long as he was the only person on the network. We would highly recommend this home. The owners and property manager were great; we can't wait to come back to this area!

We had a blast. The house had everything we needed and my kids loved the toys, movies, art supplies and option to contribute to the rock pile. Summer and Kim made getting the right permits for our boat a breeze. We also really appreciated how quick they both were to reply and the level of communication offered. And — you can’t beat that beautiful view. We spent most of our time at the house on the back patio.

We loved our stay here! We had Beautiful views of the lake and mountains while enjoying family time on the deck playing games. This house was very well equipped for anything you may need for your stay Location was great, close to Staircase, driving distance to other ONP locations and Hoodsport restaurants and stores.

Great place for relaxing. Very comfy home with all the amenities for family trip. Highly recommended.

Well I thought we knew Lake Cushman pretty well but each time we go, we find yet another magical nook. Wow what a place Samara Lake Home is. The home, location, views and the vibe of the property were absolutely fabulous. The service, communication and professionalism we experienced (from both Kim and Summer) leading up to, during and post our visit was Top Shelf.
We found the house to be extremely clean when we arrived and it had an extremely well stocked kitchen - from numerous pots and pans to good quality dishes and utensils (important to us). The very large dining area had a fabulous table where we spent a lot of time over meals and games.
The final message here (and part of me wants to not shout too loudly about this) is that the views and vibe of this place are really hard to beat. Not that vacations should compete with each other, but the weather we had, the crazy sunsets, the fog that we watched burn off a couple of the days... were beyond spectacular. The view from the deck, bedroom, living room and kitchen changed so many times during our (late August) stay, it became a bit ridiculous and silly how many times we would just stop and stare. After reading this review and booking a holiday here, I think you will agree with us that silly is a good word for it.
Thank you for sharing your home and providing us with a very memorable experience.

Our family is scattered around the US. This year we chose Lake Cushman to meet. Hiking is within minutes in Olympic National Park and surrounding wilderness. Skydiving, and a working oyster farm were additional highlights. The house was very comfortable for relaxing and reading, conversation, family games and meals. The deck offers a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. We loved having access to the lake, kayaks and water floats. The dock is a bit sketchy, which was disclosed, not easy to navigate.
The house provides a peaceful place to enjoy the lake and family.

The location is great, the house excellently equipped. We brought our own groceries and cooked. Spacious rooms and deck. Our cousins in other houses envied us!

The Samara Lake House is perfectly situated 100 feet up from the lake with commanding views of the lake and Olympic peaks. Amazing sunsets and skies to enjoy. Super relaxing and comfortable home with all the amenities and lake vibes you want. It's so easy to just hang out and chill on the deck or in the house because it is quietly tucked away with a few other homes in a cove. Great for families and friends - they have plenty of games and water craft to enjoy on the lake as well. Will definitely be booking again.

We absolutely loved it! Swimming and kayaking were the highlights, but the house is completely equipped and comfortable as well.

The view
House is beautiful., and centrally located to areas in Olympic National park as well as state parks. But the view from the deck is everything .. the pictures don’t do it justice. Spectacular. Communication with the property manager were great, prompt and professional.

Nice, cozy house with AMAZING views of the mountains. Lots of toys for the kids and they loved painting rocks. We had a minor hiccup with the heat in the house but the owner/management were very responsive and helpful!

We arrived with a very impatient and hungry, 4 year old. Our first surprise was a trampoline right beside the driveway. The kids popped out and began jumping, talk about making it a smooth arrival! The house was perfect and appointed with everything one could ask for. Lots for the kids to do even in the rain, games, rock painting, reading and toy a plenty. There were seven of us and we had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy ourselves. Because of COVID we mostly stayed in or close by. We cooked in and found everything we needed. The view is amazing! Everything was as described in the listing.

I highly, highly, highly recommend Shari's home-away-from-home. It's nearly as gorgeous as the view it boasts, and full of every amenity needed for a comfortable, cozy, spacious stay. The escape from wifi/cell service was the absolute highlight. Can't wait to return!!!

This is my second time staying at this listing, and that’s with good reason. It’s an immaculate property, in my favorite part of the world. The House: the lake facing side of the house is all windows, floor to ceiling. The house looks to be built with cedar and it’s both rustic and elegant. The kitchen has so many nice appliances (hello, Nespresso and pods)! Definitely not full of cheap Ikea shit (no shade to ikea). We swam every day, jumping off the dock, floating and kayaking- they provide all the water toys. The beds are comfortable, bathrooms newly updated and feel like spa quality with all the amenities you could need. There’s a grill that we cooked on nightly, and a wrap around deck we spent hours drinking coffee, reading, sipping cocktails, laughing, gossiping, doing yoga, and just chilled on. The Area: One day, we hiked Lena Lake, about 40 minutes drive, up past Hama Hama. Staircase (and therefore Mt Ellinor) was closed, but there’s always next year. This is a great spot if you love the lake, like to hike, and like fresh seafood. I was born and raised in the PNW, but I’ve lived in other parts of the country and world. There is no place more beautiful than a PNW summer at the base of the Olympics. It’s dreamy, luscious, peaceful and accessible. The owners are strong communicators, and make sure you have all the details, and manage the place with integrity. 10/10, this place doesn’t disappoint.

Beautiful well stocked home with a priceless view and everything you need to please guests of all ages. Our kids loved just hanging out on the dock and braving the cold water. They also lived the trampoline. There were even inflatable kayaks that we took about 1/2 mile around.

We just returned from 5 days at this gorgeous home. I've stayed in a lot of VRBO homes and I can confidently say this is the BEST home we've visited to date. Location was close enough to town to get anything we forgot, but far enough into the woods to feel totally secluded. We enjoyed several great hikes which were all a short drive away. The kitchen was SOOOO well stocked and as someone who loves to cook, this made a huge difference. There was literally EVERYTHING we could imagine - even espresso and a milk frother!! The home's spaces were so well laid out with multiple common spaces for games and reading and the bedrooms were comfortable, spacious, included fans and had wonderful bedding. The view CANNOT be beat from the deck and there was a lot of card playing, book reading and wine drinking from there. The waterfront was easy to access down the path (while stairs are rebuilt) and our boat was happily moored between tube rides while we floated, swam and enjoyed the beauty of Lake Cushman. The owners were SOOOO helpful and easy to work with when we had a few questions about our boat, etc. prior to arrival. All in all, this was a 5 Star +++ home that we will book again and again.

The owners thought of everything with lots of nice "extras" for all of us, especially my two grandsons. The logistics of getting two vehicles down the steep hill and safely parked was problematic. When we took the boys to the "beach" (by vehicle) we had to shuttle back and forth since we only had one "parking pass." But the views in the morning and sunset were spectacular and the beds comfortable.
