Welcome to Florida's best kept secret!! MANASOTA KEY -- Coastal charm meets modern cottage chic in our recently updated 2Bed/1Bath Island home. The space flows beautifully to the updated kitchen which includes a lovely white quartz counter-top and stainless appliances. Take your dining outdoors to the back patio, which includes a private fenced-in yard, an enclosed outdoor shower and detached 10'x12' shed, perfect for storing all the extras. The cottage is completely stocked with linens and towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, coolers, and even some beach toys and floats. If you need anything additional please feel free to contact me at anytime! We are always here to help assist you in making your stay here at "Down the Shore" as easy and relaxing as it should be! All you need is food, drinks and your bathing suit! Make yourself at home and enjoy the peaceful world of Manasota key! If your wild about nature, you will love the stroll to Stump Pass Park. There are 265 acres of sandy trails, boating and miles of pristine beaches. In the evening take a quick walk to see the sunset before dinner; beach access just a stone's throw away! Of course you will want to visit one of the numerous restaurants on the Island to experience some sumptuous local fare too, all approximately a 1/2 mile away. Complimentary golf cart shuttle service (seasonable availability) on the Island if you would rather ride. Local bike rentals available. On the nights you don't feel like going out, spend the evening grilling out in our private backyard.

Enjoyed our stay over the holidays in this cozy and comfortable beach home. Very clean, well appointed, perfect size for our family of five and great location. We’d definitely stay again and are so glad we spent the holiday in beautiful Englewood.

We stayed at this property for five days and four nights. Bonnie could not have been more helpful. She really was fantastic. I am a stickler for cleanliness and this property was definitely clean. Just a short walk to the beach with everything you could need in the shed. We traveled with two couples. We had a great time. If you like walking you can walk ten to fifteen minutes to some restaurants or there is a free shuttle that can take you back and forth. Highly recommend!

We cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay!! Bonnie was wonderful and answered questions quickly! There was even a bottle of Prosecco there for us when we arrived! The house was stunning! Definitely not a quick flip house! We loved using all of the beach equipment, all in great condition! The outdoor shower was amazing, beds all very comfy. We cannot wait to visit again! Thank you Bonnie and family!

I am reluctant to share how much we loved this little beach cottage because we want to keep it all to ourselves! It is a sweet little gem nestled right in the heart of Manasota Key. The cottage is neat, clean, well appointed and updated. There was nothing we needed or wanted that Bonnie hadn’t thoughtfully provided. We enjoyed nightly bike rides to Stump Pass, on the bikes in the shed. We packed the provided wagon with chairs, umbrellas, beach toys and even a cooler for our days at the beach. While there is only one bathroom, it was such a beautiful, well organized space! We hope to make this cozy little cottage a routine destination when we need a quick get a way. Don’t hesitate to book this beautiful rental. It really is perfection!

The location of the cottage is great, it’s an easy walk to the beach. We arrived in time for a late dinner and had specifically asked the host days prior if the grill would have propane. We were told yes so had planned accordingly but arrived to find this was not the case. We found the comforter on the bed to be dirty. We also found items around the cottage apparently left behind by the previous renters. The towels provided were damp & the one hanging made it difficult to tell if they were clean or used. When we contacted the host through VRBO message, we were told her cleaners do a wonderful job & no one complains. When we offered photos, the host was apologetic and offered to replace the comforter & swap the propane tank the next day. The rental handbook stated to contact in writing with concerns but when she arrived the next day, the host was adamant that we should have called her even though we stated that given the hour a message seemed respectful given it wasn’t an emergency. The night before she had had no problem with the message. More than once in only a few minutes while she dropped off the items in concern, she told us about her 5 star rating and made sure to tell us she was taking time off work to bring us these things. With no further complaint from us, she offered to contact VRBO for a refund & we could leave. It didn’t seem like expecting things included in the listing (grill & linens) to be ready to be used was too much of an ask. Apparently, we were wrong.

Cottage is clean & comfortable, obviously renovated. We’ve stayed in many VRBO’s so just a few recommendations would be more beach towels, only 3 when listing will accommodate 5 people, need 1 or 2 smaller pots in the kitchen, a small nonstick frypan, and the bunk bed situation is not for everyone, great if renters are 1 couple with children but not so great when it’s more than 2 adults.

We are so grateful we found this place! My husbands brother and wife are teachers and we work for ourselves so we planned our trip around their spring break. The host was over the top accommodating. The house is so clean, well maintained, and loaded with amenities. We brought inflatable paddle boards, such a short walk to lemon bay to fish sea trout and mangrove snapper or to the gulf to snorkel. We road the bicycles provided by the host numerous times to stump pass, again, a very short distance and walked down to the cut to snorkel. Amazing for big whole shells. The shark teeth are great in this area as well. The north beach access is just a short drive or even bike as well. We packed too much gear to bike there for shelling and fishing purposes. Easy bike to the fresh fish market on the key that has fresh stone crab claws November-April, the owner Monica is a gem! It really is a little slice of heaven, close enough to everything but tucked away on a quiet road! Highly recommend!

Wonderful Spring Break Stay!
This beautiful cottage fit us perfectly for a week at the nearby Manasota Key Beach with a short walk to Stump Pass Beach state park. Appreciated all of the beach 'toys', including a wagon for hauling and cooler for beverages.

Perfect Stay
This was the perfect little stay. The house was incredibly clean, well-stocked with kitchen items and beach gear, and in a perfect location. A tiny walk to the intracoastal where we were able to catch the sunrise and see a few manatee. A short walk to the beach and a nice walk to a few restaurants. We had such a lovely trip, and this place made all the difference. Book it! You won’t regret it.

Perfect little cottage with a great backyard and location. Bonnie was very quick to reply to messages. The bay, beach, and restaurants/bars/shops were more than convenient to walk to! Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Great Place & Location
We loved staying here. The place was clean and it was the perfect location. Less than a two minute walk to see the beautiful sunset on the beach or the sunrise over Lemon Bay. Bonnie was always quick to respond. Would definitely stay here again.

The house is very clean, beautifully decorated & very well stocked. We had everything we needed to go to the beach, to cook & enjoy ourselves. Communication with the owner was also great!

Motorcycle winter get away
very charming, quiet little lane, short walk to the beach, great dining on the key, recommend Magnolias on the Bay, one mile up the key. The motorcycle riding weather is great, a little congested in places. Have a good working GPS .
This was all we expected and more, highly recommended! You would not have to leave the Key and have all you need.

Attractive cottage in Manasota Key
Property was cute, small but plenty large enough for me, with basically everything I needed f/ my 4-night stay. Nice neighborhood of Manasota Key. Exactly 22 minutes from Gasparilla Isl., where my wife was staying at a reunion of 3 sisters. My only suggestion comes from my (uncommon) aversion to the TV world: too many TVs; not enough books. I know owners of vacation properties are told they have to have TVs in every room but, in my view, that view assumes everyone is an unthinking TV addict. But I know my view is unusual. Other than that, everything was great.

Timely Vacatiin
Everything on this stay was rated excellent. The Cottage location, the ocean are all excellent. The hosts were very gracious to give us a gift for staying. I rate this place highly and would recommend it. We will probably be staying again next summer.

Great house, great location!
The house could not have been better. It's cozy but very comfortable, and makes good use of the space. Kitchen was functional and had everything we needed. The outdoor patio was great for extended living room. The location is fantastic, a quick walk to lemon bay and the gulf beaches. Also walking distance to restaurants. Very nicely decorated as well. Lots of beach stuff to borrow, like boogie boards and chairs and a wagon, which was super helpful. Very clean. My only minor complaint is that the beds were a bit hard, but for a few nights, it was fine. Host was responsive and local help available when we needed something. Overall, a fantastic location and house. Highly recommend.
