About this house rental
If your beach vacation or family gathering requires abundant space and comfortable furnishings right on the beach, Sandy Bay is the vacation home for you. Large full width balconies on the first and second floors are perfect to enjoy a fully unobstructed view of the beach and ocean. Just south of the Garden City pier, there are no high rise buildings to look past to enjoy the view, fewer crowds competing for beach space. Sandy Bay is an oceanfront oasis of comfort and convenience. Every room is beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished. Relax after every vacation day with flat screen TVs in the living room and all four bedrooms. WiFi internet access is provided. There is parking space for four cars. Motorcycles, small trailers and golf carts are ok. The first floor living area has two loveseats and a sofa sleeper, and an armchair. There are full size appliances in the kitchen including a ceramic top stove and a refrigerator with ice dispenser. The kitchen is well equipped with a full complement of cookware and tableware for gracious dining. There is a charcoal barbecue grill for guest use. There are four large bedrooms, each has a flat screen TV and direct balcony access. The first floor bedroom has a queen size bed and bathroom, with balcony access. The master bedroom upstairs has a king size bed and full bath. One upstairs bedroom has three twin beds. The fourth bedroom has a queen size bed and a twin daybed, it shares access to a full bath with the third bedroom. Beds will be made with sheets and pillowcases when you arrive, kitchen and bath towels are included. There is parking space for four vehicles, and you can bring or rent a golf cart. Small dogs (30 lbs and under) may be considered with individual approval and $200+ pet fee. Please contact/email for approval before reserving with pets. Pets are prohibited unless specifically approved in advance. Horry County ordinance prohibits dogs on the beach between May 1st and Labor Day between the hours of 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. The person renting this property must be at least 25 years old, have a valid credit card, and be present for the entire rental. Garden City Beach is perfect for a family vacation, away from the traffic and crowds, but still a short drive to the wide variety of attractions, shopping, dining and entertainment the Grand Strand has to offer. The Garden City Beach pier, restaurants and shops are are 3 blocks north of Sandy Bay. Luxury shopping and dining are a few minutes north in the Market Commons area. Just a short drive north are all the attractions and shopping of Myrtle Beach, Broadway at the Beach, Coastal Grand shopping center, the Myrtle Beach boardwalk, and one of the world's largest Ferris wheels. For a unique cultural experience, Brookgreen Gardens displays one of the world's largest collections of sculpture by American artists in a lush outdoor setting, along with a zoo and butterfly garden, it's just a few minutes south on Business 17. The house overall was nice. Loved the closeness to the beach and the back porch. The house could use a better cleaning and updating of bathrooms and cleanier furniture. The kitchen needs better stocked with pots and frying pans.

Location was perfect, we loved that they had beach toys and umbrellas that we could use for the week. Housekeeping could have been a little better, it was a little dusty, and there was animal hair all over the furniture. A little bit of a pest control issue with roaches inside the house as well. Overall Sandy Bay, was a beautiful place and we would love to stay there again in the future!

Wonderful House ! Can't beach the ocean view from each room ! Was very clean upon arrival - easy checkin - I trip has been amazing checking in with me - we are still here for another 2 days but I can't see any thing that would stop me from giving them 5 stars !

great location. very clean and neat. only change we would make is have the high beach chairs on the upper deck, so you can see the beautiful view. Also, have gates at both ends of the walkway, so if you have a dog you do not have to worry about loosing your pet if someone fails to lock the gate on the porch and also you could have your pet on the walkway. Also a few plastic glasses for small children. we had a great time and enjoyed the cottage

You can not complain about the beautiful view of the beach from the back porch! The house had new carpet. Kitchen and baths outdated but functional. I was disappointed that trash was never picked up. I called the management team at Itrip Vacations and was told someone would come empty one of the cans. No one ever came. We had 3 full outside trash cans that we kept packing down to allow more room. I would like to return but it is a shame that the price is unreasonable for this house in the future.

House needs some updating/restoration from storm damage. Also, garbage has not been picked up this whole week. We have no place to put ours. Also, why only one hand towel for each bathroom? People we have dealt with are super. They have been caring and concerned with our trip. They need a big raise!

There were a few issues but nothing major. The dryer vent was crushed against the wall so the clothes weren’t drying until we figured out the issue. Other than that it was OK. I say OK because I see the cost has almost doubled for next year so we will not be staying in this house again. The owners need to upgrade a lot of things before this house is worth what they are now asking.

We’ve stayed at this property before and I really wanted to love it again, but didn’t. Beds are old and need replaced, very noisy and just not comfortable. Appliances were decent at best: microwave didn’t get food hot, dryer took several cycles to dry clothes, refrigerator leaked. Porch is just beautiful with a great ocean view but more furniture needs added. There’s a pile of “junk” in the corner of the porch that consists of broken beach chairs, broken umbrellas and other miscellaneous items that appears to be left behind. Overall our vacation was nice but just really wanted to love this place again. Perhaps after some updates…

Called the day I arrived about a broken chair and was told maintenance would pick it up Monday but they never arrived. Is what it is but would have liked to see some follow through. Also, the smoke detector upstairs beeped non stop. Vents had mildew or mold around them and could really use some attention as it caused some concern for a few in our party. Other than what's been pointed out, we had an excellent stay and very much enjoyed ourselves.

Altho this property is in a wonderful location and the view was amazing, the inside left so much to be desired. In general, VERY dated and mold was an issue throughout the house. Specifically, the living room couches were worn out (SAGGING AND UNCOMFORTABLE), the kitchen stovetop was in terrible condition and there were not any good pans to even cook the basics, (pans too small, no non stick pans and alot of cheap plastic cooking utensils that didn't work, no can opener or cookie sheets). Furniture on the back deck was in terrible condition, rockers rotten (one actually fell apart when a cup of coffee was placed on the arm). The bathrooms were all very dated and the shower heads all needed replaced. The tub shower upstairs and down both leaked and there was mold present. The most disturbing was when we went to bed the first night, the bed was soaked. Upon looking up, there was a huge water stain and leak in the ceiling. The mattress and pillow was soaked - even the surrounding carpet. Mildew and mold were on the ceiling here as well. This had clearly been going on for some time. The windows upstairs and down were hard to see through because there was clearly a condensation issue. The downstairs bathroom had a dripping faucet that got worse as the week progressed. We did call maintenance on both the faucet (which they replaced) and the ceiling (they were able to stop the leak) but there was nothing done to fix the bed so it was unused.

The house was very accommodating... only real drawback are the steps. There are suicide steps going up the front and going out the back are steps down from the porch and back up to the walkway over the dunes and then down another set of steps. With parents near 80yo... this was too much... they stayed in the house or on the porch, which was great. We had some renters next door and across the street that caused concern. Obviously that may never happen again. I really appreciate having the family together so everything else was small potatoes. God’s sunrises and sunsets were beyond words.

We're leaving this review early because we have left this property early due to ROACH infestation. Many sleepless nights!!! The condition of the property is nowhere near what the photos show. Property in disrepair and dirty. Itrip property managers were contacted but never responded appropriately. STAY AWAY!!!!

Great location, outdoor space could use some tlc
We enjoyed our stay. Shortly after we arrived, we noticed an issue with the TVs connecting. They were very helpful and sent out a handyman next day. The bedrooms and bathrooms as well as the kitchen surfaces were neat and clean. There were great views from both the upper and lower decks. Unfortunately the furniture that appears in the upper deck photos is no longer there. The decks themselves could use a sanding and refinishing as well as a few boards needing replaced on the lower deck and walkway to the beach. Overall it was a great stay, just a little disappointed in the outdoor area.

Had a wondeful time at your house. We made so many memories. The only thing that was wrong was the tv in the 2nd floor bedroom did not work. I could not get it connected to the internet. But otherwise it was wonderful.

We had an incredible time at Sandy Bay. It has everything you will need on the interior plus the ocean as your view! My only bit of constructive criticism would be to replace the carpet or install tile in lieu. Also, the master bathtub/shower is in dire need of replacing the shower curtain liner. The countertop surfaces in the kitchen needed a further once-over when we arrived. The beds / linens were comfy! All in all great value for the money and walkable to convenience shopping as well as the pier. We had family pro photos taken on the beach (Pasha Belman Photography) and it was an added treat to be able to walk to the pier for photos for photos taken below!

My family of 6 and our dog stayed in April of 2021, Lets start with Dirty, the house was not cleaned to my expectations, I am not really that picky, Our beds, after the amount of money that was spent on our rental were dirty and not changed! We were told that service was included, In many of the reviews this is common that is was over looked! So cleaning company needs to be spoken to and now for the so called inspector that goes in to sign off on the property, He or she should be let go!!!! My adult children arrived first and called to say the beds were not changed I Trips apologized linens were provided and the kids had to make up the beds.
That is not acceptable in my book, Again Beware!!!

The good, the porches, those beautiful porches, the outdoor living space is the best, we had coffee every morning looking at that beautiful view, cocktails every evening looking at the ocean!!! Beach is great, quiet area, Fabulous dog space, we brought a baby gate with us to block off the end of the walkway. We would stay here again for the area and the outdoor living, just be aware of the property managers not seeing to the jobs that need to be done! Beds should be changed and the house should be cleaner.

1. Dishwasher was not working at all and with stagnant and smelling water in it. No replacement was done. 2. Microwave was not heating at all. Was replaced 3 days later.3. Dead cockroaches hidden behind the large sofa. All sofas dirty and smelling.4. Two long chairs available and both broken.5. From 6 plastic chairs on the upper balcony, 5 were broken.6. Moldy sealing in the shower of the master bedroom. For the rates paid for the week, more then that can be expected. The communication with the management was efficient but poor actions behind. Housekeeping came 2 days later for the cockroaches.
