The unit is beautiful, and the view is gorgeous. Our host was very helpful and friendly. There are significant stairs down to the water, so not a good property for people with any mobility issues. The paddling is great! Very quiet setting and lots of wildlife. A very pleasant stay!

The property is amazing! Everything we wanted for a getaway from the city. Steve was an amazing host, he even brought us fresh produce from his garden on the first day of our stay! We stayed on the hottest week of the summer so far but were VERY comfortable! Between the water (there's a swim ladder at the end of the dock) and the AC in the cottage we were able to beat the heat and enjoyed our time immensely. There were lots of games and movies to keep us entertained in the evenings, and the multi-head shower is awesome! The cottage is located pretty much in the middle between Kingston and Perth which made it very convenient to day trip to either community. 5/5 would definitely stay again!

Nice central location along the Rideau Canal, with lots of short excursions available. All in all, just what we needed - a great place to do nothing except hang out on the deck or down at the dock, or on a kayak/canoe/boat if you're so inclined.

Rental is lower half of owner’s home - but no lack of privacy. Place very clean, beds comfortable and location is great. Steep steps down to the water, typical for the area - but something to be aware of if you have mobility issues. We rented the pontoon and enjoyed the water and the miles of boating that was available.

We spent the most relaxing 3 nights in this cottage. Beautiful modern cottage, super comfy beds and stunning views. Caught bass and sunfish and even a ~5lb pike right off the dock! The property has lots of space to roam, multiple outdoor seating areas with gorgeous views, and so quiet and restorative. Exactly what we needed. Thanks Steve!!

We loved our stay in this cottage. The house is comfortable and clean and the location is amazing. We could swim in the lake right from the property's deck. Steve was very responsive while we were preparing to go and super helpful while we were there. He even gave us some fresh produce from his garden. Definitely recommend this spot!

We had a wonderful time. The owners live at the same property and are always there to help. We much enjoyed the fishing boat, which we took to go fishing every morning and late afternoon. The owners organized a net and better bait, after which we caught a big white fish. Thanks for the wonderful stay, would love to come back!

If you are looking for a modern, clean place to get away from it all, this is a wonderful place. You have the entire downstairs of this spacious house with complete privacy and high quality modern finishes. The views of the water are amazing! We saw bald eagles, Taranger swans, deer and many birds, the outdoor gardens are amazing and the boat traffic on the lake is quiet. The owners are just nice people and we didn't even know they were around. They have their own space. It is nice to know they are nearby just in case and they even brought us tomatoes and basil freshly picked from their garden. The beds were comfortable and I suffer from many environmental allergies but didn't have any problems. In fact, there is an air purifier in one of the rooms. The decor is amazing and the shower with its multiple modern massaging heads was wonderful. There was not one thing we could find that we lacked. It really was amazing. Nearby, we went to Newborough and discovered the store Kilborn's. What a shopping extravaganza! What a fantastic place! Highly recommend but as we told the owners....we get first dibs!

What you get is a ground floor of a beautiful lakefront house with the owners living right above you. They are lovely people who built this house from scratch and they are ready to help you with anything you might need. The house is well insulated/soundproofed so you barely know that somebody is upstairs. Your living quarters consist of 3 large bedrooms with king, queen and bunk beds, large walk-in closets, huge bathroom with double sinks, shower and again, large fully stocked and functional kitchen. High ceilings and large windows facing the lake create spacious, open air feel. Everything appears to be very stylish, high end and brand new. Central AC keeps the temperature reasonably cool. Bedding is very comfortable throughout. There are fairly steep stairs leading down to the lake, which may be problematic for young kids or anybody with an arthritic condition. You have a long private dock at your disposal. For additional fee you can rent a small no-frills aluminum motorboat, which gets you around the lake. Other than the dock, the rest of the lakefront is not really usable and has a lot of weeds and beautiful water lilies. You can't really swim off the dock unless you don't care about the weeds around you. There are a couple of nice places to swim from that owners will gladly point out to you, but you need to have a boat to get there. Fishing was very good with us catching a lot of large bass, sunfish and occasional pike. Water was really warm for swimming. We enjoyed the place tremendously and are looking forward to coming back. The only things that we MISSED were a washer/dryer (so take some extra clothes) and wifi (there is a large screen TV with tons of satellite channels and DVD player), but beautiful lake sunsets more than compensate for it. Another thing which should be mentioned is the presence of horse flies in the early summer months, so take some bug spray. To sum it up, if you are someone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and go somewhere "off-the-grid" surrounded by nature, then this is the place for you.

Beautiful property. Awesome sunset and lovely little herb garden that was available to us for cooking. Great flower gardens for photography. The rooms were extremely clean and well appointed. While eating dinner on the deck we saw some deer close by. The hosts were very informative as to the secret fishing spots and the not so secret shopping places. Kilborns was fantastic. Wish we could have stayed longer!
