The salty smell alone takes you to paradise and then coupled with the Ocean views from the Crow's nest deck, you are undoubtedly in the perfect spot. The Grey Havens is extremely roomy with family gathering spots on all levels. The rec room on the ground level sports a TV and pool table. The mid level has a den with comfortable seating area. The expansive top level, is the perfect backdrop for an amazing family meal with ample space for dining and relaxing after a long day at the beach. The hot tub promises relaxation after a busy day playing on the beach or shopping at nearby Timbuck II shopping center. The casual dining at Agave Roja or perhaps you prefer a more formal dining experience at North Banks are only a convenient five minute drive. We had an amazing time staying at Grey Havens. This was our second time staying at Grey Havens. It is a short walking distance to the beach and that is crucial for us because we have little ones. The pool and hot tub made for easy days of relaxation and privacy. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, even a beach cart. The only thing about this house is that it is outdated, old furniture and appliances, but that stuff isn’t nearly as important to us as the location to the beach and amenities (pool, hot tub). Located close to shopping and restaurants.

The house was clean , comfortable and close to the beach . The property management were top notch. The came out same day to fix anything that came up . This was the first vacation for my whole family in years and we were sad to leave at the end of the week.

Great place: excellent location, close to beach and enough stores/restaurants to keep you happy. Pool and whirlpool were a big plus. Rental staff was very friendly and helpful, easy repairs came quick. Although very livable, the place could use a good updating and a little more care. Things were worn or broken. Nothing major, but should not be: powder room needed repair, ice maker and two stoves eyes did not work, couches were worn, bed lumpy. Nothing too major, but should not have to deal with. Rental office was very responsive with fixing outside flood lights and replacing light bulbs. Overall a great livable stay, just needs some care.

The house was convenient to everything and we loved having the pool. The couches are pretty old and falling apart under the cushions and the fitted sheets on the upstairs master didn’t fit. It would have been nice to have some pot holders, oven mitt and kitchen towels. The property was clean and we didn’t need any maintenance while we were there. We had some pretty hard storms and the roof leaked just inside the house from the screened in porch. We loved the new Corolla buffet.

My family of 6 stayed for a week, overall we enjoyed our stay with only a few minor complaints. The first complaint is there are tvs in most of the rooms but we were only able to use the one tv in the living room. The description also advertises a xbox which the kids were looking forward to on the rainy days, it also did not work. The grounds around the property could use a little work there was some pretty tall grass and weeds that could use some attention. If you have small children make sure they have shoes on when walking on the decks as there are nails that are raised from the wood and could really hurt barefooted.

When we arrived the beds were not made - dirty linens by washer - kitchen and bath did not appear to have been cleaned. We did it ourselves - the location was great, we definitely enjoyed the new pool.

We had a wonderful time. Definitely recommend this house. Very short walk to the beach, big house, tons of deck space. We really enjoyed watching the sunset from the crows nest. Pool is a bit small but it’s new and very nice. Great stay.

Enjoyed Our Stay

Down fall- There is a pine tree near the pool and you are constantly pulling them out of the pool. There is also a fly issue that makes it very hard to enjoy a meal outside. Lastly, the home is very out of date, however the new owners whom naught the home in July 2020 recognized this and are working on updating things.
My suggestions- 1. TV in bedrooms at least the kind size bedroom. 2. Let visitors know that they need to bring/buy salt and pepper. 3. Have a list of places that deliver to the home.... The last thing visitors was to do the 1st day that they get in is cool..... lastly, my sisters beach house located in Hatteras and they had a old old flower vase and gusts would find a shell write their name on it and put it into the vase. Made a great decoration for the home and was fun for the guests to do.

We enjoyed our stay at this location in the Outer Banks. The house was plenty big for our party of 6 and loved all the bedrooms and bathrooms and the outdoor shower to clean off after going to the beach. We loved our vacation. The location is an easy walking distance to the beach access and it was perfect for our family and younger children. The house is spacious and we liked having the large table and multiple gathering areas available in the house. Downsides include that everything is on the older side with old appliances, but everything workded and is overall well maintained. Only real complaint is that both the queen and king beds were not at all comfortable (very hard).

We stayed at the Sea Princess during the 3rd week of June 2018 and it was great. The house is very comfortable and pretty close to the beach. The kitchen has everything you would need. The sofa's and beds were comfortable.

The location of the house is fantastic, one block from the beach, short drive to shopping and the neighbors can’t really be seen from the decks. There had been flooding to the lower level due to the intense rain the weeks before, the room was dry but had a musty odor. The management company had anticipated this and had an HVAC company on sight within the first 30 minutes after check in to set up a dehumidifier and fan. The appliances and furniture are outdated and worn though functional. The carpet is stained and should be ripped out and replaced with something other than carpet. The house was not clean at all, there was dust on all the tables, hair in one of the showers and we found someone else’s dirty clothes under a bed. Overall I would not stay here again but I would definitely stay in his neighborhood.
