Beautiful Private Cottage 3 miles from the Sequoia Park Entrance
About this house rental
Tucked into the lower east side of Salt Creek Canyon sits this beautiful hand-crafted 680 square foot guest house on nine acres. Originally built by owner as a writing and painting studio in the late 1980s, it has an open floor plan with a wood beam ceiling and pine plank flooring. All wood furniture is made by owner. The screened in porch opens onto two wooden decks that over look a series of cascading ponds and Salt Creek farther below. A separate driveway from Salt Creek Road (also known as Craig Ranch Road) with carport provides parking and privacy. Location makes it very easy to get to where you want to go, whether it is to the park, to town or to the end of south fork and lady bug trail. A half mile walk or bike ride further up Salt Creek Road gives you access to BLM (Bureau of Land Management—public lands) and Case Mountain for great hiking and mountain biking trails, as well as, Salt Creek waterfalls. (seasonally winter and spring) It is a park all unto itself.

My wife and I had an absolutely amazing stay here. The house is immaculate with craftsmanship and attention to detail everywhere you look. The property itself is incredible with several ponds right out your back deck and the sounds of the river just below in the background. Whether you're looking for a relaxing retreat in nature or a home base to explore Sequoia National Park this is the place to be!

The cottage is set up nicely and has a lot of extras. The only thing I would recommend is to have a comfortable sofa in the living room area. The sofa they have was not comfortable at all.

The cottage was perfect in every way. It is a quiet location where you feel like you are the only ones around. It is peaceful and relaxing and so close to the entrance of Sequoia National Park. Martha has gone out of her way to make sure the cottage is fully stocked with everything you could need. We enjoyed our stay SO much! I think we could have stayed at the cottage all day and still had a wonderful vacation! It is not just a place to stay! If you like relaxing and peaceful, it is a destination!

If I could give this a 10 Star rating I would. I've stayed in quite a few VRBO's and this has to be one of the best. It was exactly what we needed for the two of us while out hiking in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Very convenient to the parks, restaurants, etc. The cottage was more than equipped with what we needed. It was just so homey and comfortable. We would have our coffee on the deck in the morning and wine on the deck at night after our return from the parks.
Martha was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Very responsive to our questions and she provided all the info we needed for the area. If we are ever in Three Rivers again, we will absolutely stay here. Loved it!!!!

This finely crafted cottage is nestled anong intimate cascading water features. It is evident that it was designed with a keen eye for simple elegance. One of our favorites.

We absolutely loved this cottage and hated to leave. Excellent place, beautiful and peaceful. Close to Sequoia National. Kitchen well-equipped, very clean. Enjoyed screen-in porch and deck. Host communicated timely. Highly recommend to disconnect and get away with someone you love.

The craftsmanship and care taken of the cottage was impeccable!
We saw enjoyed listening to the creek, listening to & watching the hummingbirds, quail and turkeys while on the screened porch.
If we are ever back this way - I hope our trip includes another stay here!

Beautiful cottage, tastefully appointed. Tranquil location. We loved our stay here and couldn’t wait to get back to the cottage after hiking. Peaceful mornings with coffee on the deck in the company of hummingbirds.

Beautiful, private cabin! Owners are meticulously clean and everything was exactly what pictures show. The view is amazing when waking. The owners supply more than the essentials. Out of a 5 star, this cabin is a 10! We loved our time spent here.

This is exactly as stated in the description. The quietness makes it so relaxing and you forget about your work life. Great home base for visiting sequoia and kings canyon national parks. We had quails, hummingbirds and even a young buck in our yard.

We loved this beautiful home - it was just around the corner from Sequoia National Park, making it easy to get to after a day of exploring. Martha and Rick were great hosts! We loved staying and seeing all the animals around the home, especially getting to feed the fish each morning :)

Our stay at Martha’s and Rick’s was unbelievably relaxing; the cottage is absolutely perfect and well appointed, and situated in a perfect location. I would be hard pressed to find a single fault, we enjoyed everything thoroughly, and the owners were incredibly responsive every time I had questions. Would recommend this property wholeheartedly!!

Salt Creek Cottage is beautiful, everything built by hand, including the furniture. The owners are a woodworker and an artist, and it shows. The setting could not be more peaceful, private, and relaxing. Everything about staying here was a joy, most of all meeting and visiting with our hosts.

Absolutely Perfect
There is nothing that could have been better about this cottage. Perfect location for visiting Sequoia National Park & Kings Canyon and nearby grocery store and restaurants. One of the best rentals I have ever experienced. Absolutely beautiful in every way. Great attention to details and spotless. Loved sitting on the deck at night watching the birds. Absolute Tranquility
Every aspect of this stay was just wonderful. My new bride and I stayed here only for a couple nights, and that was our only regret. We wish we had more time in this lovely bungalow.

The cottage was a perfect getaway while visiting Sequoia National Park. The location is ideal to reach the park and all that Three Rivers has to offer. It’s so quiet and secluded, we couldn’t ask for a better retreat. The cottage was stocked with all the necessary amenities as well. We cannot wait to come back!

The cabin is an absolute charm, and roomier than it looks in pictures. Very comfy for a couple seeking a romantic escape. It is fully equipped with a cute kitchen, nice cookware, dishes, flatware, and a gas grill.
The hosts are truly a credit to VRBO. They anticipate virtually every need of their guests, and communication is superb.
There mom and pop restaurants (no franchise places), gas, and grocery stores nearby.
Going to Sequoia/Kings Canyon parks is a breeze, just a couple of miles to the gateway.

My husband and I stayed there twice and it is just as lovely as the first. The cabin has all the necessary items needed for a short or longer stay. Location is a short drive to hiking trails, shops and restaurants.
