Two blocks to Main Street shops and restaurants

Walking distance to everything Lava has to offer. Host was super friendly. Overall very pleased with our stay.

The electrical outlets are dangerous. It was hard to get things to stay plugged in and several outlets sparked. The "queen" room is not a queen it's a full size and is also the hallway connector to king room and rest of house. Very awkward setup. The king room had only one outlet. There is a nightstand with a lamp but it can't be plugged in. Location was amazing

Great place, very cozy and fun, walking distance to everything in town, pool, pizza, hot pools, as good as advertised! Definitely would come back!

I was really concerned with the ice on the roof that was coming off over the path to the door. If it fell, it could take someone's head off or knock them out.
This needs to be addressed.

First morning we started to make breakfast but we noticed we needed to wash all of the dishes before we could cook because most of the dishes were dirty. I notified the property manager of the dishes and the overall cleanliness of the unit and all I got was excuses. I strongly recommend not staying at this location. The property is really in need of alot of repairs.

The pictures of the property are very deceiving. The cabin is NOT bright nor does it have great electrical. Several outlets didn't work and it was very dark inside. It definitely isn't up to electrical code. The gathering area pictures show a ton of seating, that wasn't the case. We wanted to gather 5 people to watch a movie. 2 people couldn't even sit comfortably and ended up on the floor. The wifi wasn't great, but doable. We had a good time, but honestly I'm glad we had so much to do that we weren't there much.

You can park the car and forget it! The cabin is just steps from the town center, so you can walk to the pools, the tubing, and the shops and restaurants.
The cabin advertises a washer and dryer but there isn’t one. We were told there’s a laundromat up the street, but we were on vacation, not laundry duty, and since we’d flown in, we traveled light and we’re counting on washing our clothes. It also would have been nice to have essentials like sugar, coffee that wasn’t super old, and drinking glasses. Wi-Fi is spotty but that’s probably a town issue.
On the whole, the space is nice, there are plenty of towels, and big windows make the space light.
We really did not like our host’s indifference to our laundry needs.

I'm just leaving an honest review. I think there should be a few improvements but nothing that couldn't be easily improved by a deep clean, extra care to move-out cleans, replacement of towels with new ones and spraying for insects.
We are grateful and honored to of stayed in this wonderful peice of family history.
The home was within walking distance of the town, in fact it sits right on Main Street. The check in process was easy and the caretaker I communicated with was friendly. The home had a cute back-history to it and it was warm and friendly. There is appealing country accents about the home that give it a western feel.
Cleanliness I give 3 stars. We did find many places about the home that were not appropriately cleaned or sanitized. I also found a few dirty dishes in the cupboard. The bath towels were old and stale to the touch. The tenants before us had left the street trash cans very full and we had no place to put our trash.
We had quite a bad experience with insects inside the home. We had several large spiders running across the floor. We wouldn't of worried about it accept we had a two year old with us. My husband had an ear wig fall onto his face while we were sleeping.
The front door was hard to open due to the door frame.
After my first communication with the care taker to unlock the Laundry Room Door , it took about 24 hours for her to come out and do that.
We did have quite a fright when we got a utility shut off notice on the door.

Beautiful cabin. Tons of shade from trees!!! We all fit nicely and had plenty of room. AMAZING location 2 minute walk from everything. We will most likely be staying here yearly after this experience. Had everything we needed inside.

Name George and Lola’s cabin, I found this place to be delightfully eclectic with old memorabilia and rich history of the original owners. It was a block to Mike’s Grocery, shops and restaurants so we walked everywhere. Nothing fancy but a fun place to stay in Lava.

Very comfy cabin
This place is big inside, plenty of room in all rooms and is very conveniently located. It was very clean and well stocked with things inside for your long stay. Definitely worth staying here and highly recommended.

Great cozy place, we have stayed there many times.
We would have liked to have more seating in the front room. The couch only seats 3 and there are plenty of dining room chairs, but they are not comfortable to sit and visit or watch TV.

Wonderful weekend trip
Tara with Evolve Vacation Rental contacted me days before our check in with information for our stay. It was a wonderful weekend! The cabin was clean and taken care of. This was the third time I have stayed here at George and Lola's cabin. It's cozy and accommodating. It's not far from the hot springs or the grocery store. Skiing was awesome. Pebble Creek Ski Area is a short drive and great runs for a small ski resort. Soaking in mineral springs is the best after a day of skiing! Thank you Evolve for making our stay nice and easy!

No running water
We booked this for a weekend getaway. When we arrived around 9 pm we found no running water because the pipes had frozen. The property manager was responsive and apologetic but in the end couldn’t fix it. Since we arrived late we stayed one night, left early the next morning and then canceled the rest of our stay. I would not recommend this property in the winter. The owner, evolve and HomeAway were all good to work with with getting us refunded. But still very disappointed.
Had the water worked, I would have given three stars. The location of this property is good and it was clean and had a rustic charm. However the listing is misleading because it lists a hot tub as an amenity. This property has no hot tub. Has a claw foot bathtub but that is not a hot tub. Also a bit run down like one of the stove burners was broken. The parking spot was not shoveled so it was not parkable and the walk way to get into the house from the street was a sheet of ice. The layout is odd in that the kitchen is on one end and the master bed and entrance to the home on the other. To get pretty much anywhere in the house you have to walk through the bedroom with the double bed. It was fine for us but if you have multiple families or someone who likes privacy it could be awkward.

Weekend Get Away
Everyone loved the cabin. There were enough beds for all of us. Love the cozy atmosphere. Excellent location. Great extras. Only improvements would be to remove the small rugs in the kitchen as they are a tripping hazard. The ice was melting next to the entry door creating a large puddle of water. The sidewalk was slick and ice covered near the entrance. Overall excellent lodging. Clean and comfy. Friendly host. Contact answered all my questions. Will stay again.

We walked everywhere from our place. Plenty of room for 5 of us. The place is homey and we loved all the pictures and decorations. We will come back.

We enjoyed our visit with our cousins. The property was comfortable but needed some repairs. One of the twin beds was broken and pillows stuffed under the mattress. The 2 car parking in rear was inadequate. The ignighter
On the grill didn't work. There was a water leak behind the cook stove somewhere. Too many decorative pillows. Throw rugs everywhere, some dangerous. The caretaker said she would do a face to face but didn't show. Just needs some common sense things done and it would be a great place.

Perfectly located cabin, had everything we needed
We had a nice time staying in this cabin for our annual Ladies trip. It’s location on Main Street was perfect to be right in the center of everything. Just a few minutes of walking to get to the hot springs, the grocery store, the river, restaurants & bars. Check in & communication with the property manager went smoothly. The cabin was equipped with all the dishes, towels & bedding we needed. Some excess decor & family photos could be removed to make it feel less cluttered. A few pieces of furniture are becoming dated. But it was spacious and we had a wonderful stay. Thank you for sharing your log cabin with us!

We arrived at the property at check in time and another family was already staying there. We contacted Wes at Vrbo and requested a full refund. It was so upsetting to travel that far and then not have accomodations.
