Location was excellent
We thought that the instructions for accommodation would have been better if bridge opposite bus stop and post box had been mentioned.
5.0
Location excellent
Mattress protector was stained and no pillow protectors.
Fridge freezer faulty ran 24/7
Bath panel had a rusty screw extending at floor level.
Most internal doors including the bathroom failed to close effectively.

Clean and nice welcome gift of Welsh cakes. Excellent location
Bridge over stream to get there

A wonderful, spacious, comfortable, quiet and relaxing location, with a short walk up a trail, across the street, to a superb pub, with great lo-cost meals. A well-equipped kitchen, that had a welcome starter package of Welsh cakes and milk. The bed was good, and the shower had plenty of hot water. The stairs to the bedroom and bath were very narrow, and the stair steps were quite small, which required care and attention when ascending or descending. You had to push or move your luggage either behind or in front of you, but this did not pose any serious problem. There was a private assigned parking spot out front. When you left in the morning it was easiest to back down the private lane towards the narrow bridge, line up your car facing the bridge, and carefully cross it. If you did not want to cross the bridge and navigate the private lane, you might be able to find parking in the public area on the street, but it was always full when we were there. The narrow bridge was daunting the first time we crossed it, but after that it became an easy routine. Besides, we liked the privacy of the parking spot right next to the cottage.
As noted, parking was a challenge during our first attempt, but became routine thereafter. It would have been real challenge to attempt it at night the first time.

Gorgeous cosy cottage with everything you need in a beautiful location. Peaceful surroundings, waking up to the sound of the river outside and bird song. Idyllic. Great response from owner too.

Beautiful well equipped cottage, in a wonderful location. Easy check-in and out. I cannot fault the cottage, Kate has thought of everything to make your stay a perfect experience.
Feel check-out time of 1000 hrs a little early, would have preferred 1100 hrs. I accept there may be reasons for this, however it would not stop be booking a stay in the future.

The location is beautiful, the cottage is surrounded by mountains on either side.the view from the main bedroom is really lovely. The kitchen has just been re-done and is really spacious and equipped with everything you need.
Squeaky floorboards and bed in main bedroom.

Fantastic locations with lots of walks literally on your doorstep. The cottage is perfect with everything you need and it’s so warm and cosy. The kitchen had everything we needed and the milk, Welsh cakes, chocolates were lovely little extra’s. I was able to do a full roast dinner and then we just sat and relaxed watching a movie whilst the log burner crackled away with our dog snoozing away in front of it.
The logs were also provided which was unexpected; thank you!
The Fairy Glen pub is a short pleasant walk away but just for information, they don’t allow dogs. It didn’t matter because we were able to sit outside where heaters are provided.
The walk from the back garden is beautiful and the views were spectacular after a short hike up hill.
Kate had made our delayed Christmas weekend so memorable; we will definitely be returning!

Love the location, open the door to hear the river out the front. Log burner makes it nice and cosey and the recliner couches are great.
Tal in the kitchen wouldn’t turn off, constantly running.

River Cottage was perfect for our family long weekend away. It is very well equipped (including baby and dog stuff!) and we didn't want for anything. The cottage got very cosy with the heating on, and is in a peaceful scenic location. Parking and key access were simple. It's a short drive into Conwy, and in walking distance there are some lovely walks, including an easy stroll along the river and to the beach, and more challenging hikes into the surrounding hills.
The only small downside for us was that the cot provided doesn't fit in the twin bedroom, so to sleep in a separate room from our toddler we had to take the twin room (which is a shame because the master bedroom is lovely). But we still slept well in the twin room -- this is just something families in similar situations might care to know.
