About this condo rental
Come "nest" in our tree top condo atop the 100 foot cliffs at Cape Foul Weather, Otter Rock , Oregon. The condo has a master suite with it's private deck and entry, that will be your home away from home. The suite has the corner ocean view that many say makes their stay totally awesome. Our beach is considered one of the most beautiful tidal pool areas on the Oregon coast. Added information.... 7/27/2021....This property is on the upper level and with the tree top view you will have pathways and stairs to get from the guest parking to the unit. (I've edited this description to make note for guest who may have heath issues or would have a problem doing some walking up and down on the property) The effort is truly worth the location on the ocean..... Sit by the 20 foot windows and watch the ocean waves crash below you. Watch seals rest daily on the rocks and the whales feed in the kelp beds. You have a full view of all that is going on here. Sit on the deck and watch the waves explode on the lava cliffs. You can sit on your private decks to watch the eagles fly by everyday. The property sits on 35 acres of old growth rain forest right on the ocean. We have for your enjoyment a heated pool, hot Tub, and saunas. The property has Tennis courts and a basketball court as well to have fun with your entire family. Our restaurant is open for take out at this time. Open Thursday through Sunday. Many brides and grooms have had their weddings on the grounds. We have a large convention rooms to provides receptions and business meetings. For the business minded our internet is high speed to help you stay in touch if you must. The property is so beautiful with 45 year old "Rhoddies" that bloom every spring and into the summer. We have a garden area with every kind of flower to photograph year round. This is paradise on the Oregon Coast! We are located 8 miles north of Newport and 4 miles south of Depoe Bay. You'll be right in the middle of all the great activities going on everyday on the Oregon coast. Miles and miles of beaches, trails to hike. City and country lifestyles all rolled up in one place. Ellen (host) was so kind! Greeted us upon arrival and showed us around. A lot of uphill walking and stairs to get to the room, but it was comfy and clean (albeit a little dated & some minor repairs needed). Kitchenette is minimal, but we didn’t need to cook. Beautiful view from the balcony! Saw whales & seals, just where we were told they would be!
The Inn grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the quaint Spyglass restaurant has yummy food! Their GF veggie pizza was actually quite impressive, as was my whiskey stone sour drink.
So many beautiful sights within a short walk or drive! It was a quick getaway for us, but just what we needed. Definitely would consider going back!

Beautiful stay here. It’s very high up with no elevator but so worth it if you are able. The view is spectacular and the area is close to Newport where you can visit the seals and the lighthouse and beautiful grounds. It’s like living in the forest here, we loved it.

First time at this property but won't be the last. Beautiful grounds and views. Many things to do on site and short walks to beach and town of Otter Rock. Also short drives to Newport, Depoe Bay or Lincoln City. We loved our stay.

We loved our time at this condo! The host was so nice, and met us exactly when planned. She also was nice enough to help us carry our luggage up to the condo. We spent our whole stay on the property. There were so many things to do! My favorite part was watching sunset from the balcony. Seeing the whales and seals was a highlight for my son.

The view was incredible! From our high viewpoint we could enjoy the ocean, in a spot where whale watching boats came, as well as lush tree covered hills and birds. Walk to Devils Punchbowl and amazing tide pools, etc. The suite was comfortable and had all that we needed. Ellen is kind and helpful. A great stay.

Fantastic. Best views. Ocean breeze. Therapeutic feel. We met our family (who stayed in other condos in Otter Rock) and had the best time. So much to do. Clamming, shelling, surfing, eating...

This property largely surpassed our expectations. The property is beautiful with access to a nice quiet beach. The room overlooks the ocean with amazing sunsets. The kids loved the pool. Ellen was a fantastic host, she was available and went out of her way to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this place.

We were amazed at the beautiful landscaping at the Otter Crest condo community! The ocean view was good from the private balcony. The location is wonderful. Close to Depoe Bay for whale watching and you can walk to Devils Punch Bowl from the property at low tide! The halibut sandwich at Mo's Restaurant at the top of Devil's Punch Bowl is great! The condo unit was clean and modern. There is even a gas grill on the grounds for guests to use. Ellen took good care of us and gave us a lot of information about the area. She was readily available to answer our questions.

We absolutely loved our stay at Ellen’s property. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area at check-in and helped us get the bags to the room and show us where everything was. We wandered up a path to the room through all the beautiful flowers on the property. So pretty! This was a work-around from the stairs if stairs are not for you. It was just the two small staircase up to the room. The room was clean and had everything we needed for our weekend. Having the restaurant on site was also great after a long drive. Super convenient to grab dinner. The beds were very comfortable, but waking up to the spectacular view was everything! We saw sea lions playing in the afternoon and whales feeding on the keep in the morning. The beach was fantastic; we loved looking in the tide pools when the tide went out. And being able to explore Devils Punchbowl was also incredible. I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about our stay. We had a wonderful time! Thank you Ellen for sharing your place with us!

We were very pleased. The condo was exactly as described, with just a phenomenal view. Wonderful tide pools and a state Marine Garden on the beach below; we walked into Devil's Punchbowl and saw sea urchins, sea stars, anemones, and sea lions, and had a day at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. As noted in the description, there isn't a kitchen (there's a microwave and small fridge), but food can be ordered from the on-site restaurant. Beds were comfortable, and space was clean. Also note that the condo is at about the highest point on the property (which makes for a great view and was a selling point to us) but that you'll need to bring you luggage up by foot - we didn't find this to be an issue, and were helped by the gracious host, but older folks/persons with disabilities should be aware of this (again, this is all in the description).
An absolutely lovely property, sea and old growth forest, and a great value.

Incredible View
The location was everything! The grounds are stunning, the access to the small semi-private beach was easy and I can’t rave enough about the view from the balcony of Ellen’s suite. The suite is on the smallish side with a separate bathroom and only a microwave plus mini fridge in the large entry closet. So don’t plan on doing any cooking. The pool was very nice. You will surely get your steps in if you stay here-you get lots of exercise no matter where you go. But that was fine with us. Ellen was an excellent host-offering to help with our luggage or anything we needed or wanted to know! She even had a wagon to help bring our luggage to the suite😊

The condo itself is in good, but not new, condition. Ocean view from deck is exceptional. The grounds landscaping is really nice, with many hydrangeas and rhododendrons blooming in July. The area itself is super beautiful.
Tennis court definitely needs resurfacing, but it worked for us. Serious players wouldn’t be happy with the condition.
Pool is great.
The room only has a microwave, so be prepared for that kind of cooking. There is a restaurant nearby, but they are only doing takeout, and apparently take orders by email. Their social media and website are not up to date, so there is a lot of misleading information floating around.
The main thing to know is that walking to and from the pool or parking lot…it’s a real hike. Perfect if you want a workout, but it’s not for everyone, and definitely not for folks with physical challenges (unless you are looking for some physical therapy!).
Because this condo is being privately rented out, guests can’t get rides on golf carts. Even though I’m ok with walking…it did feel a little unfortunate when I could have used help transporting luggage (owner does provide cart, but this doesn’t help on stairs).
Office will help with getting change/soap to use coin operated machines, which are near office.
It was difficult to get comprehensive information about this condo until we actually arrived and figured things out.
All in all, I would enjoy staying there again sometime. The view from the room cannot be beat.

Beautiful spot on the Oregon Coast
This property is in an amazing spot! Tide pools, seals, whales, we saw it all from the property. Ellen is so kind and thoughtful. The room was good - comfortable and clean. There is definitely some stair climbing required at the property. Just be aware if that’s an issue for you or your group, but for my active crew it wasn’t an issue at all.

It was so peaceful, and the sound of the waves from the deck was heavenly. The grounds of the Inn are gorgeous, and it’s an awesome walk on a path through the forest to the Devil’s Punch Bowl and Mo’s seafood shack. We would definitely stay here again

hidden beachside oasis
Ellen was great! she communicated well and made me feel at home. the room was very clean and the view of the surrounding trees on the property and the ocean down below was gorgeous. i definitely recommend staying here.

The property was clean but outdated. The most difficult part of the stay was the 1/4 mile hike to the Z building. I have stayed at the Inn at Otter Crest in the past and knew it was an older location, so having an 'old school' room was fine. However, the owner does not pay for the golf cart service, so plan on hiking. One of the evenings we were faced with low clouds and wind gusts. I was concerned for my friend's safety up the steep path. We were able to pay the golf cart drivers, although he said he might be disciplined for driving a Y or Z building owner because they do not pay for the service. Due to the weather, he too was concerned for my friend's safety walking up the hill. Howerever, the view was great once up there.

I learned a new definition of a "condo" this last week. Apparently I was confused about the difference between say a "room with a bath" and a condo....They are the same! Previously when I have rented through VRBO a condo meant an entire apartment, this time it meant 1/2 a condo as this owner had subdivided the property. So technically a condo, yet still not what I was expecting.
AND.....this particular property required about 200 stairs to get up to it and about 500 or so to actually get down to the beach. So if you are coming to stay here I suggest about 2-3 weeks on a stair stepper device to get your thighs ready for all the climbing you are going to do if you stay in this property.
The owner was very nice and helpful, I just felt that the VRBO listing was pretty misleading. If my elderly mother had been with us, we could not have stayed.
