Some of the staff were happy doing their job ... For others it was an effort.
Dirty towels, unable to order food on the first night due to staff issues and unable to order food on the second night as the shift manager seemingly didn't want to work on a bank holiday weekend.

Welcome and helpfulness of staff, full english breakfast, plenty of tea, coffee and milk in bedroom.
No car park - I was so tired that I drove round and round not finding the car park nearby behind the library! Room had open window and was cold when I arrived very tired from 4.5 h journey in storm Nelson and bitter weather, but radiator soon turned that round. Please put wifi instructions in bedrooms! Classic breakfast was very welcome but black pudd and sausage were a bit overdone and bacon a bit underdone - nevertheless I enjoyed it a lot!

Booked at short notice, extremely accommodating as we had a tandem and trailer to store.
We had a Courtyard room which could not have been more perfect for us after a very long cycle ride.
The adjoining door to the next room all be it was locked.

The staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

The staff were lovely and the room spotless. The hike up the stairs was uncomfortable for me though. I was there for my Works party and it is really well placed when going out. I loved the fact that I could have a bath and the toiletries were fab.
The only drawback for me was the stairs, they are steep. However that was minor.

Very pleased with my stay, staff friendly, room clean, and really good value for money (as a single booking used to getting smallest room near top of house) on this occasion twin good sized room with front view ) Thank You
Unfortunate - Fair outside window

I didn't expect too much for a family room at £55, but it turned out to be above average. £8.75 pp extra for breakfast pushed up the total price to £72.50 for the two of us, so still a good price. Someone told me that the hotel is to be re-furnished very soon, so it will probably be even better. Only problem is trying to park. There are car parks but they are marked NOS,
which I presumed meant 'No Overnight Stay'. A local resident told me to park on the street as some parts were free all day.
I found a spot down by the Military Museum, which was only a 5 minute walk away. Providing that the prices don't get pushed up after the re-furbishment, I would definitely stay there again.
No parking at the hotel.

It is in a convenient location and the rooms were comfortable.
There was confusion on whether the booking could go ahead as a refurbishment had been booked. Booked the room in April but wasn't confirmed that the booking could go ahead until the week before our stay (October) which caused quite a bit of anxiety.
