Location, facilities, service, big room …within walking distance of shops and restaurants…and next to the lake
Breakfast options could have been better. Same stuffs like any other standard hotel

i stay here at least three times a year, the staff are friendly and the rooms are very nice.
the bathroom wasn't very clean!
4.0
Pool and room was okay
The service was very slow, in the day bar which took 20 minutes to get served. The breakfast was self service, not much choice and lacked the individual service you receive from other 4 star hotels, looks very tired in main area's really ready for a re-fit. Parking car was messey process.

The dinner menu should be changed to all a carte as it is confusing adding extras on rather than just having full value clear prices. Restaurant needs to be exclusive to charge over £50 for a steak

Staff and location
Room was not what I expected asked for a large bath and was given a room with no bath. Room had a marvellous view but was not what you expect for a superior deluxe king no bath

Location was perfect. Staff were excellent. Food was good. All requests fulfilled.
Price of alcohol was way over the top. Bottle of Sauvignon Blanc in the restaurant was £54. You can buy the same wine on line for under £10. G&Ts in the bar were also very pricey as was the Port.

The location, facilities and staff were great
Several black hairs on top sheet of bed ( none of the family have dark hair). Too hot to sleep in rooms although 2 fans provided. Lots of flies on the windowsill at breakfast.

Nice hotel, great location
A bit slow at breakfast and having to pay 20 pounds to park my car when the room already cost 300. Cheap minded mentality.

Booking .com have made the experience very poor for me and have failed to get back to me
They have lied and mislead me and I can't trust them

The swimming pool is really good as is the welcome at spa reception. The view from the terrace bar towards the lake is quite stunning.
The breakfast service on our first morning was very poor due to an incident in the kitchen and short staffing. Check out on departure was very slow as we had to dispute several entries on our bill. The hotel must have a better system for ensuring that bar and restaurant bills are booked to the right room!

comfortable in all aspects and a good location for access to Windermere and other parts of the Lake District.
£20 a day to park the car seemed a bit steep but on reflection it was very convenient. There is easy access to the lake, for boats etc., and a good bus service so really one could leave the car parked and not feel the need to use it each day. Parking in the Lakes can be a nightmare, particularly in the main tourist season.

Location was perfect. The room size was good. Comfortable bed. Swimming pool was long and overall spa and sauna facilities were good.
Room service was horrible. They did not provide dental kits or bathroom slippers. The hotel staff sarcastically told us to buy from "something called a Tesco". Those were his exact words. The charge 5 GBP per room service activity which is ridiculous. Breakfast not up to the mark at all. Food was lukewarm and lack of options. Service for toast and coffee was highly delayed.

The staff were great and the family room (with cot) worked well for our trip. The spa was also apparently very good. Overall very accommodating and the food was pretty good (we only tried the breakfast not the restaurant)
This is a nice hotel and spa but much of the decor is pretty tired, particularly in the open spaces (corridors/ halls). You will stay here for the location above anything else and the price is based on this prime location. The parking is 200m up the road from the hotel and there was an issue during our stay due to a faulty barrier but I'm sure this was temporary.

The breakfast was really nice, plenty of choice. Nice juice and pastries. Hot food quality was good.
Hot trays ran out several times. There used to be a smoked haddock to order. It available anymore.
