This place has a service ethic that others have lost long ago....attention to detail, a proper welcome, nothing is too much trouble, I arrived late and they kept the kitchen open.. Comfy bed, good breakfast...nice surroundings...

we were a group of friends needing to stay somewhere convenient for Stansted airport Our rooms were really comfortable with all usual facilities We ate in the pub and the food was excellent - a good choice and well presented The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

Our shower cubicle/bathroom was very small - it would have been better to sacrifice some space in the room to make the bathroom bigger. But the shower worked well and the water was hot.

great location about 15-20 mins from Stanstead airport in lovely quiet village with lots of lovely walks from the hotel/pub. comfortable clean room with great shower in en-suite. comfortable king size bed. Excellent cooked breakfast included in price. staff very friendly and helpful. nothing too much trouble. we had evening meal in the restaurant which was excellent. you can also leave your car there whilst on holiday in safe car park behind the pub with security cameras. They arrange taxi to take and collect you from airport. Very reasonable price.

The bed was comfortable and the pub had a cosy restuarant area. The evening meal was fine. The staff were friendly and generally helpful. There was plenty of parking and the location was very attractive.

The breakfast was fairly limited. There wasn't any fruit or yoghurt on offer or anything else vaguely healthy. If you didn't want a cooked breakfast the only option was porridge, which was covered in honey. The coffee came out of a machine rather than individual cafetieres. The bathroom was cold and the floorr wasn't particularyly clean. We arrived to find the restaurant closed despite it being mid week. We were not previously advised of this closure so after a long journey were offered a bag of crisps and a drink in lieu of supper! The landlord blamed booking.com and they inturn denied responsibility. Not a very satisfactory outcome for the customer!

The staff were happy and welcoming. The room was comfortable and cosy. A fantastic time.

Warm welcome on arrival and friendly helpful staff throughout. Dinner and breakfast were very enjoyable with excellent attentive staff. Our room was clean and adequate for our one night stay with tea and coffee facilities, comfortably warm. The village is very quiet and some pretty thatched cottages nearby.

Friendly comfortable with good food and made us feel welcome . Good facilities in room and good location for exploring local area. Allowed us kindly to keep our bikes safe indoors. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again.

Convenience for attending a wedding at Quendon Hall. It was comfortable and clean. we also enjoyed a lovely meal on the Friday evening

Would have liked more variety for breakfast (ie cereals etc) Evening meals was excellent on both nights. Bedroom a little tiered and bathroom needs upgrading

The breakfast was good, no frills. Choice of breakfast bap, full English and vegetarian option or pancakes/waffles with maple syrup. Good value for money. Room adequate for a 1 night stay but would be too basic for a longer stay. If staying longer I would have asked for an upgrade. Bed comfortable, nice pillows. Manager, Alan was friendly and attentive!

Had to keep curtains closed as people walking past the window, no blinds/nets for privacy . This also meant poor lighting in room.

location excellent for Stansted. staff very helpful and friendly. owner immediately put a heater in our room as temperature fell quicker than expected. food really well cooked and well presented.

the ambience. a local pub, buzzing on a Friday evening but quiet by bedtime.
