We booked a room with 4 beds, got upgraded to a 6-bed one. Neat & clean, same as other YHAs I have visited. It's calm too, no noise from other occupants. Breakfast was good. Plenty of shared washrooms, other than the one in our room, makes it easy to get ready while starting early.
This place is almost at a 30-mins walk from the Canterbury station, and if one wants to reach by bus, they need to avail 2 buses. Town centre is not too far away though.
The reception remains closed from 10:00 to 16:00, makes it difficult if one wants to leave their luggage and roam around the place, they can't get the luggage back during that time.

Very comfortable lounge which made for sociability.
They had uneaten fruit following a catered-for stay, so made it freely available in the kitchen.

Nowhere to request not to locate us on top floor when booking -my daughter has ME/HEDS and really struggled.

A well presented property in excellent repair and cosmetic condition. it’s well located with lovely gardens, superb dining and self catering facilities and the young staff were excellent in all respects. bathroom was huge and shower worked well. The parking is good (we had our caravan with us and timed it just right to tuck it away in the corner of the car park).. The garden is nice with ample room for the kids to run about whilst we took in a barista coffee from reception.
The individual lights and power sockets didn’t work next to each bed. Also the beds need to be pulled out and dusted behind. it’s not a heavy job as the beds move easily (we were looking for sockets that might work!) but a deep clean once a month is in order!

We had some problems reaching the staff when they were needed (especially during the evening).
