The entire ambiance of the resort was perfect. The room was spacious and clean. The food was super fresh, organic and healthy. The staff were amazing and tentative. The estate walk was incredible and grounding within nature and utter beauty everywhere. We loved every minute we spent!

This is nothing short of a spectacular experience, everything from start to finish was immaculately serviced, great rooms, private swimming pool, fantastic yoga and other health treatment, private picnic next to the holy water spring, excellent food choices. I am traveling a lot globally and stay in quite a few top hotels but this one ranks very high on my list. There was nothing that could be improved and in my view all due to great people who are motivated to provide the best possible experience to their guests.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at, period.
The views from the property and the rooms are breathtaking. All the water at the hotel (incl. tap water and the pool) come from a natural spring! Although the hotel was full, you can hardly see the other guests as the property is so expansive.
Each room comes with a personal assistant who is always on standby for you. Ms. Dayu is an absolute gem and took great care of us and our daughter during our stay.
So many activities to do. Great for couples, remote working, families etc.
Food was impeccable. Fresh, healthy, seasonal, delicious.
Cant wait to return!

this is a truest exceptional property that I would love to return to. The grounds are simply stunning and the rooms are beautiful. If you want to escape to a tropical sanctuary where the staff wonderfully care for you - this is your place! This is a special place and I am going to miss waking up to the sound of birds and of course their fabulous breakfasts.

Como Shambhala Estate is paradise without exaggeration. You are staying in the jungle in the heart of nature. The design of this estate is so beautiful. The staff are exceptionally helpful and always give you the perfect service. The food is always fresh and delicious. The yoga classes, spa facilities, and the estate shop were excellent. The estate is ideal for honeymoon, solo travellers for relaxation and meditation, and families who want to disconnect from the world.

ok this place was unreal! the location was absolutely tranquil, we had wild monkeys outside our villa in the morning, great amenities and lots of activities, also nice and secluded.
I think there needs to be a full benefit option. the fact you’re already paying a high price and have to pay for everything on top of that is a bit much. all food and 1 massage and activities daily for a slightly higher price would be justified.

The property is magical. The warmth and hospitality of all the staff and the fact that everyone knew us and addressed us by name. The toiletries were lovely and smelled so good. The variety of menu options available at the in-house restaurants was great.

We stayed at the Terrace suite in the Wanakasa residence. The property grounds were exceptional. It is one of the most beautiful nature I've seen in places I've stayed at. You will get pictures for your instagram that will make your friends jealous. We stayed at a terrace suite, and the atmosphere is more of a glamping. I'm not sure about the villas so they might be different.
The rooms and suites were clearly made with high quality materials. The chairs, bed, all other furnishings were sturdy and did not feel or look cheap.
The treatments at the spa were really good and they are a must if you're staying there.
The staff were really good and helpful. They were very accommodating when we decided to cut our stay short.
This is mostly based on personal preferences and have nothing to do with the staff who are highly professional and hard working. You can disregard if you're ok with the below.
The main issue was that the hotel is trying to be many things rather than being good at one.
Its not a luxury high end hotel. As I mentioned, the rooms and suites give you a feeling of camping in the jungle (and does it really well). So you do not really get the feel of being in a high end luxury resort. The design is glamping style and made to look like an antique lodge rather than a luxurious and relaxing place.
It is not really a wellness resort as there are no wellness facilities. There is a spa where you get your treatments, but that's basically it. There is no proper wellness resort saunas for example, just the usual ones in locker rooms similar to what you'd find in a gym. There are no hot pools and the hydro pool is for paid sessions only (first time I've seen that as its usually not charged for in wellness resorts).
Its not an everyday holiday resort as it does not provide any hospitality perks such as a ride to Ubud to enjoy the town. They charged US$20 for each way which is preposterous given the previous hotel charged us US$6 to take us from Seminyak beach to COMO Shambhala. Taxis in London and New York don't cost that much. And at the prices they are charging, it is expected this service is provided.
Lastly, based on the above, value for money is extremely low. At the prices they are charging, management need to understand expectations are high. There is nothing that comes with the room and everything else is aggressively priced. To be honest, this is an issue across Ubud as we have gone around looking for a another place to stay. We ended up going to another resort but the value for money was still low. If you're looking for a luxury retreat in nature, there are other places in the world that offer better value at these prices.

I loved everything and would rate it 12 out of 10 if at all possible. From the amazing friendly and professional staff, to the beautiful room, delicious food and outstanding wellness program available.
There is not one single thing i could criticise at Como Shambhala - costly but worth every single cent invested into yourself. Outstanding experience and definitely worth your while. Stay as long as possible.
